Marathi actor-filmmaker Subodh Bhave feels that Sakshi Tanwar will stuns audiences with her negative role in his film.
Sakshi Tanwar, who is currently seen in Code Red Awaaz has bagged the role of Aamir Khan's wife in the film, Dangal. She is also set to make her debut in Marathi films with Katyar Kaljaat Ghusli, which is based on the classic play written by Purushottam Darvhekar. The actress will be paired opposite veteran actor, Sachin Pilgaonkar.
Sakshi, who is known for her performances on telly already has a fan in the film's director, Subodh Bhave. He says, "I have always adored Sakshi as an actress that's why I decided to cast her. She has done an amazing job and the audience will love her negative role in the film. Sakshi is a thorough professional and felt completely at home on the sets, though the set-up was somewhat different." So, do we see Sakshi saying dialogues in Marathi? "Sakshi portrays a Muslim character and her lines are in Urdu. So, language wasn't a problem for the actress."
The film also classical singer Rahul Deshpande, grandson of Vasantrao Deshpande, who will be playing the role of Khansaab, the central character. Mrunmayee Deshpande, Amruta Khanvilkar and Shankar Mahadevan are also part of the cast. Subodh adds, "Nabila is an ambitious woman who wants her husband to be the rajgayak (royal singer) of the state." The actor-turned-filmmaker informs that Sakshi did not have to undergo a lengthy preparation for the role. Her co-star Sachin Pilgaonkar helped her with the Urdu lines as he's conversant with the langauge. "I narrated her story and explained the character."
Those who have watched Aiyyaa will remember Subodh as Maadhav, Rani Mukerji's fiancee who loves old songs. "I have done above 70 films so far as a lead actor. This is my debut film. If I get interesting scripts, I would like to direct in the future as well,"
