If you want an advanced more techy VHS purely for TV show recording and archiving then you can try a multipurpose all in one DVD recorder for TV. There is a monster one from Toshiba http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882116136

I have two ... one slightly bulky one in a plastic casing ... this one is of the older kind that needs to be plugged in to a power outlet and another portable handy one in the reinforced alloy casing. Life's good ... data storage wise. Seriously DVDs and CDs are so unreliable kabh bhi kharab ho sakte hai and I love old stuff .. holding on to old stuff .. like pictures ... old movies ... family videos + classic shows ... I cannot imagine losing them cuz some idiot was holding my DVD with all five fingers ... so I saved up for a while and got my first EHD and then the next one. Totally worth it.

BTW Mandy made an avi out of the trip and fall scene ! 😃

DVD are unsafe a lot of my DVD dont play normally without hanging and this is even after keeping it all protected in its case. I think after some years it starts to corrupt 😭

Torrent them and save in hard drive then plug it straight to TV or DVD watch them straight on TV in super HD without the hassle of buying or keeping DVD.. free free free of cost 😃

I love Mandy's avi and I am frantically searching for Meera-Agasthya siggies. I need to update mine.

Sorry sister ... I graduated to external hard drives long back ... never liked disk storage of any kind to begin with .. floppies get warped, CDs/DVDs get scratched ... blah blah blah.

I am an EHD girl. 3 Terabytes of pure unadulterated SCRATCH free data in a casing so strong they could make assault rifles outta 'em 😎

Thanks tum dono yaar! Lekin kintu parantu (I know I know, use this a lot😉) my local buddies, needless to say younger than me, have been telling me to do that for 3-4 years. But me April born bull-headed stubborn dont want any more techy stuff, coz tired of having to keep changing Besides whatever old-fashioned cds dvds, even old audio cassettes haha that I have, they have been so loyal, dependable to this day, that I see no reason to change.

Still, will look into Toshiba link, do little research before I decide😆

Just like my Paa he still got those gramophone round records which he wont part with. 5 years back mom managed to get rid of of the audio cassettes but CDs still there 😳 He keeps adding old film CDs and DVDs. The shelves are running out of space but he wont stop 😆

You should check Toshiba before buying do a good research. Its DVD/VHS, DVD recording and all in one thing... looks like good stuff.

Kudiye, that's exactly what I have. Instead of Toshiba it is Magnavox. And DVD recording? As late as yest I was asking same Q from salesman, his reply was no way I can record on DVD. I can only watch a movie on DVD player. That's all.

I know my homeland is even more advanced in techy than even US (no more superpower), so just possible that no DVD recording.

Yest was at my "muhboli beti" and her 5-year old angelic daughter (since no children of my own). Her hubby is a borderline genius in all this techy stuff. So will ask him. Tanku!

Chacha 420 Balraj is A-grade liar too. He doesn't have any intention to give any share to Agasthya from properties but he was giving him the greed. He said he will be the one enjoying the results 😡
