There is nothing about irrational or rational here
Only three things I am confirmed that
Is when Krishna killed kansa Krishna was 11 years old
Secondly I am confirmed that after Mahabharata war yudhistar rule for 36 years
Thirdly when Lord Krishna left earth he was 120 ( some say he was 125 )
Yes those are correct, but rest assumptions are no way near. This 3 years which you mentioned would have been around 10-12 years or even more
As you said Krishna died at the age of 120, so that would be the approximately age of Arjun n maybe 122 for Yudhishtir. Since Pandavas were alive when Krishna died, so earliest he could have left Hastinapur would have been the age of 122, 36 years of rule means, Mahabharata happened when he was around 88, Bheem 87, Arjun 86 and twins 85. (The numbers are higher than this, but just adding your numbers here).
So even the numbers you shared don't add up here, Arjun was minimum twice the age you assumed during the war
In reality at the time of Mahabharata Yudhishtir was 91, Krishna and Arjun 89, twins 88 and Bheem 90, so Duryodhan would also have been 90 then
