Thank you so much, Sadiie! 🤗 You're super sweet! It really means so much to me that you still visit my shop and take the time to comment. I really really appreciate it.
Lol, glad I got you interested in that Mahabharat sig. It's a show currently running on Star Plus (though it's gonna end next week on Aug 9th ðŸ˜ðŸ˜) and I'm hooked, lol. It's also based off of a popular Hindu scripture/mythology like Ramayan. In fact, Ramayan and Mahabharat are often said to be Hinduism's two most important and popular scriptures, as Lord Ram of Ramayan and Lord Krishna of Mahabharat are two of Hindus' most favorite incarnations of Lord Vishnu. Remember how I told you that Ram was Vishnu's 7th incarnation? Well, Krishna was his 8th incarnation and Mahabharat tells the story about Krishna. Mahabharat is actually a HUGE epic, even longer than the Ramayan, and it's also far more tragic and complex. Ramayan is about how an ideal human being should be like, while Mahabharat teaches us about the vices of human beings and how greed, over-ambition and selfishness can bring the downfall of humankind. In Ramayan, the family of Ram is very happy and perfect. Excepting Kaikeyi's change of heart when she exiles Ram, family life is generally very smooth and comfortable. On the other hand, Mahabharat is all about a dysfunctional family which ends up killing one another in a huge bloody and violent war in the end.
I actually think you'd enjoy the story of Mahabharat. Ramayan is a beautiful story that touches our heart, but we can't relate to it as humans because we are all flawed. No one can be like Ram or Sita in real life, as they are ideal characters. Ramayan is meant to be taken as a lesson on how human beings should improve themselves. On the other hand, we can relate to many of the characters in Mahabharat because it is a story about human beings much closer to our current society. It deals with issues that are still relevant today, like sexual harassment, violence against women, caste discrimination, single parenthood, etc. If you're interested, I can tell you a little bit about the story.
I wouldn't recommend you watch this show without knowing the story, lol, as there many distortions from the epic. Unlike Gurmeet's Ramayan, which was 80-85% accurate to the epic, Star Plus' Mahabharat is only 40-50% accurate, with a lot of unnecessary drama that is expected of Star Plus shows. However, the star cast is amazing, the music is great, and the lessons/themes of the show are necessary for society today, which is why I like it despite its distortions.
Do you want to know the story after my long rant? If not, be honest, that's OK. 🤣
