Basics of Adobe Photoshop CS :: Help

Guys ,

I want to know some basics of Adobe photoshop CS . I don't know even A B C D of photoshop but I am really keen to learn it . I have searched in google but the tutorials that I have found in some websites are very difficult to get for a complete newbie. I know I won't be disappointed here coz there are lot of great siggy makers around. I have some questions regarding photoshop . Please help me out , friends . :)

• How do you guys select any particular part of an image ? Suppose I want to select only the face or the full body of a person from an image, not the background or any other thing .How to resize the part?

• How to give a different background of the selected part of the image ?

• Where do you get beautiful brushes to use in siggy ?

• How to merge two pics together ?

• How to colour any particular part of an image like eyes , lips etc ?

• How to write texts on the image ?

Please help me to make beautiful siggy like yours.
