I do the following to fade the background:

Once you have copied and pasted it and made it look like you want, go to Adjust -> Hue and Saturation. A new window will open and there you can change the lightness 😉

fading a picture into another is done by using "opacity" tool. Pick the layer you want to fade, then go to "layers > layer properties" on the menu bar. When the window opens, look for the option "Opacity". It should be 100%. Lower it to make the picture more faded.

lol...well, having a graphic program around has its advantages and can be handy. but yeah, if you dont find yourself using it often, then it isnt worth buying. I think you can now get the PSP 9 at a cheaper rate because the newer version PSP X has come out.

on the pic you want right click and go to properties and copy the url of the pic and paste the link where ever you want to hope that helps lolz
