Low ratings because people already know what the future story is going to be, whereas Moonlight show is new with its conflicts and romance. TBH ML is a bit boring and slow.

If I'm not wrong moonlight was based on a webtoon or something,so for both cases people already know the future story, plus I don't think people will stop watching a show just because they know where the story is going since shows like boys over flowers have done so well. not once have I felt that ML(by ML ,I'm guessing you mean moon lovers, ugh why do the two shows have to have such similar names too lol) is boring,it always keeps me anticipating the next episode😆

I think scarlet heart is more popular internationally than moonlight. It is ironic that it is so popular in china, when the people in china have literally seen the same story before.

Moonlight is also a great show and they deserve the good ratings, but I personally feel like the whole girl dressing up as a boy thing is done too much in dramas (you're beautiful,to the beautiful you, coffee prince, nail shop paris) especially in historical dramas (empress ki,sungkyunkwan scandal).Infact most of the shows I have listed have done well, because this is a plot that works well with korean audiences .

I just hope the cast won't feel too discouraged because of the ratings. They've worked hard I even read that joong ki lost 15 kgs for the role

Even I was curious about sisters marrying their half brothers, this practice still goes on in some communities, but maybe they thought it was a secure way to keep their daughters safe.

What pissed me off about the king was that he was ready to marry Soo,a girl who was like a grand daughter to him, just for the sake of his empire and power

I think the king didn't actually want to marry Soo. He did ask if it had to be her. Plus he was gracious by not giving her any major punishment and making her a palace maid.
According to that era refusing the King is a great insult to him.Like when in the recent episode baekhyun's character didn't want to be married..the king looked pissed off,but he was pretty chill with Soo almost comitting suicide to avoid marrying him

Maybe it is because soo is like lady oh (who is the only one who the king actually loved) so he has a soft spot for her. I actually like the King because I think along with the crown prince and JM he's the only one who liked So (4th prince) from the very beginning

Hey fellow Moon Lovers thank u for keeping my thread alive since i was gone. :-)

As for my fav. show Moon Lovers and its dismal ratings ,well i do not really care

Fact is Lee Jung Ki as Wang So is at his best . Nothing can be compared to his smirks ,angst, passion and desperation . Wow he depics them so well I am fan of his acting . Only thing he lacks is a good height. But again that does not matter coz he has his acting and those long eyes to add up to his grace and x factor.

i am watching the show coz I want to see character development of Wang So and how his love to Hae Soo changes colours like from friendliness to like and from like to possesiveness and desperation and finally into love .

As for other show monlight well i dont think anything new in it ,it has all those repetative scenes from old kdrama where heroine cross dresses ,hero knows truth and then all those crown prince teaching heroine different things and all ,well i have seen it all .

I wont say Moon Lovers is new but it surely has different flavour why coz Lee Jung Ki plays it differently :-)
