Chapter 8:Arjun stood there trying to absorb what happened a few minutes ago. Although he always ignored it he somewhere knew that he had started feeling for Riya.
Riya the name only could reduce his stress and accelerate his heartbeats. She was the sunlight to his dark world. She always supported him and never left his side throughout his struggle. Even though she knew he loved Roshni her loved never decreased for him.
Who would not wish for such a life partner. Arjun actually felt very happy and content after years that finally he'll have some one to call his own.
His heart had already given its consent and Arjun was just about to voice out his feelings when Roshni's death flashed in front of him.
Roshni lying in her own blood. Sameer accusing him and breaking all ties with him. The team's criticisms. His parents demise everything flashed in front of him.
He was struggling in a inner turmoil between his mind and heart. Though Riya had consoled him many times saying all this was not his fault but he could never accept that.
He felt that he was the one who was the reason for Roshni's and his parent's demise. He felt he can never keep anyone happy and whoever comes near him would have to pay the price of their life. And that's why he became so cold that no one even dared to cross the border which he had made around himself.
He could never let Riya suffer the same fate. Riya was his possession. Till morning he was not ready to accept that he loved Riya but now he knows very well that his love for Riya is limitless and boundless it's simply 'Beyhadh.' He even doubts that the intensity of his love for Riya may be even more than that for Roshni.
So he decided though it has become difficult for him to stay without his Riya but he could never beer even a scratch on her that too because of him. He would rather live alone than let Riya risk her life. After all her life was more important to him than her happiness.
However he couldn't voice out a 'No' to her proposal also.
Riya who found Arjun struggling in a inner battle got up from her knees and went up to him. She gently touched his shoulders which brought him out of his thoughts.
He looked up at her with lot of pain and an underlying love but he was ready to sacrifice everything for her safety.
Seeing his eyes Riya knew what was going on in his mind. Till now she has learnt to read his eyes, his silence. Riya at once knew what was his dilemma because at times she did feel his care was not for a friend but love for a partner.
Riya took his hand And gave the ring to him and said "Aapko abhi jawab dene ki jarurat nahi hai. Yeh ring rakhiye apne paas agar apka jawab haa hua toh yeh pehen lena warna lauta Dena." She said calmly but her voice cracked at the end.
Arjun was once again charmed by her unconditional love. His heart was screaming a 'Yes' but he couldn't take another life. Looking at her he knew he could never get a life partner better than her but after that looking at himself he knew she could never get a partner worse than him.
After saying these Riya said "Aapka jawab jo bhi ho isse humari dosti pe asar nahi hoga. Right?"
Arjun didn't know how to answer her he just looked down and slightly nodded. With that they left the place.
Next morning when Riya reached ETF she knew she was late actually very late. At morning she kept on waiting for Arjun but he never came and after that she came by herself. She thought to ask about this sudden change to him in office but when she reached there she could find no signs of Arjun.
She was sitting in the conference room and looking at his cabin and the main door frequently. Finally not able to resist herself she asked "Arjun kaha hai?"
Every one turned to her as if they were about to ask her the question but then Sameer replied "Usne chutti li hai woh aaj nahi ayega." Riya looked at him as if he had said the most unbelievable thing ever.
She at that instant regretted her decision about the proposal. She chided herself for being so impatient and making the situations difficult for Arjun.
She knew he also loved her but was afraid to confess. So she decided to take the initiative. But now she just prayed that the decision she took in haste would not spoil the relation she had developed with Arjun.
She then heard Sameer's voice which was full of worry " Riya, sab thik hai na? Kal tum nahi ayi toh use pata nahi tha aur woh pareshaan tha. Aur aaj woh nahi aya toh tum bhi pareshaan ho."
Riya again felt that her decision was wrong that's when she again heard Sameer's worry filled voice "Agar kuch problem hai toh tum bol sakti ho, shayad hum madad kar paye?"
Riya worry changed to anger hearing him. She found everyone was looking at him with concern. But this time they needed to get a reality check. "Madad? Kaisi madad? Aur aap sab madad karenge Arjun ki aur meri? Aap saath nahi de sakte, nahi madad kar sakte hai. Aap sirf shak karna, ungli uthana, hathkari pehnana aur saath chorna jaante hai. Toh meri madad na kare toh hi acha hai. Aur rahi baat Arjun ki toh aapko jo karna tha woh aap kar chuke. Unko iss hadh tak tor chuke hai ki unhe khud se nafrat hai. Un par iss hadh tak ilzaam laga chuke ki woh khud ko manhoos samjhte hai. Ab aur Kya karna chahte hai?"
By the end she had tears in her eyes. She looked at them only to see genuine guilt in there faces. But sometimes forgiving becomes very difficult. So she left from the room trying to find out abiut Arjun's whereabouts.
But she didn't know that she left a very guilt ridden team behind her.
