Chapter 3:
The shuv muhrat for puja was slipping away so Lata decided to fetch Sakshi. But as she was about to came Sakshi came and stood near the pillar.
Irani: Beta aap waha kiyu khadi hai? Yaha aye na!
Sakshi hold up her hand and shook her head.
Sakshi: Main in sab cheezo pe vishwas nehi rakhti. Aaplog please suru kijye.
Another came flashing back at Armaan's mind.
Flashback-
Armaan sighed and held up his hand in resignation.
Armaan: Mujhse nehi hoga.
Sakshi frowned. She had a thal of puja in her hand. They came to the mandir to pray for their future life together.
Sakshi: Kiyu nehi hoga?
Armaan: Dekho Sakshi. Maine jindegi mein kabhi puja nehi kiya hai. Sabko karte hue dekha hai. Par khud kabhi nehi kiya. Agar galti ho gyi to?
Sakshi's feature softened and she smiled.
Sakshi: Main hoom na!
Then she took his hand into hers and did the arti.
Flashback ends
She had so strong believe in religion! In an impulse he spoke up.
Armaan: Trust karke dekhlo. Shyed woh tumhari sunle.
Sakshi smiled a cold smile. It had eerie resemblance with that of Rukmini Devi's.
Sakshi: Ekbar trust rakhke dekh liya. Aab dobara bewokuf nehi banna chahti.
Armaan got a distinct feeling that Skashi was not referring to religion.
Lata: Aise nehi kehte beta. Woh job hi karte hai hamesha acche ke lye hi karte hai.
Sakshi chuckled a humorless chuckle.
Sakshi: Yeah right.
Dhawan: Is it about Arjun?
Sakshi became amused.
Sakshi: Is that what you think? Mere hukum sa iss dunya ke sabse acche insan hai.
Then her facial expression changed. Both her feature and tone became hard.
Sakshi: Mere hukum sa ka in sab mein koi lena dena nehi hai. Unhone kabhi bhi mujhe kisi bhi bat liye na pressurize kiya nahi resist kiya. So, stop dragging him in all this.
They felt a withdrawn in her. A strange protectiveness towards Arjun. Then again the amount of pain Sakshi had to go through. May be she feel that it's her duty to please him at any cost. May be that's why she was blind at him. Today the way Arjun behaved it didn't seem that he really cared about her more than he cared about his pen.
Sakshi stood at a good distance the whole time they did the puja. After the puja finished she excused herself in her room. She didn't even joined them for dinner saying she is not feeling well. So, later when Lata and Namrata entered her room with food tray she became a little surprised. She quietly eat her dinner but she knew what was coming.
Lata: Dekho beta haam samajh sakte hai ki aab tum kounsi dour se guzar rahi ho. Par tumhe bhi samajhna chahye. Haam dushman nehi hai tumhare. Tumhari bhalai chahte hai haam. Tumhari madad karna chahte hai.
Sakshi finished her dinner and took water. Then calmly she spoke up.
Sakshi: If you really want to help. Then stay out of my personal matters and stay out of hukum sa. Now if you excuse me. I am tired.
Lata and Namrata were a little taken aback but they left her alone. They came back to the living room where everyone was waiting for them. They relied what happened.
Dev was about to make some comment when the land phone rang.
Dhawan picked up the phone.
Dhawan: Hello! Pratap residence.
Other person: Namaste uncle. Main hoom Arjun. Sorry to disturb but Sakshi ka phone nehi lag raha tha. May I speak with her?
Dhawan: Sure beta. Hold on a second.
Dhawan covered the mouth peace and ordered the maid to inform Sakshi. He was about the put the receiver on the cradle when Armaan stopped him. Indicating everyone to stay quite he pressed the loudspeaker button.
Sakshi: Hello!
Arjun: Tumhare phone ko kya hau? Kaha tha na hamesha sath rakhna! Switched off kiyu hai?
Sakshi: Sorry. Achanak battery chali gyi. To charge pe rakha hai. Abhi one nehi kiya. Aaplog sahi se pouch gye?
Arjun: Haan. Tumne dinner kiya? Medicines liya?
Sakshi: Don't worry. Maine dinner bhi kiya aur medicine bhi liya.
After a long pause..
Sakshi: Hukum sa? Aap abhi bhi hamse naraj hai?
Arjun sighed from the other side.
Arjun: Nehi. Haam tab gussa aya tha. I mean tum inn Prataps ko janti bhi nehi ho par unke gharpe rehne se mana kar rahi thi. Tumhari tabyat bhi kharab hai isle tumhe sath nehi la sakta tha. I am sorry. Maine tumhe danta.
Sakshi: It's okay hukum sa. Agar mujhpe chillaneka haq kisi ko hai to woh aaplog hai.
Another long pause.
Arjun: Aab so jao.
Sakshi: Hukum sa neend nehi aa rahe. Aapko yaad hai jab aapne mujhe hospital se discharge karke pehli bar ghar laye mujhe ratko sone mein problems hoti thi. Aur aap muhje gana sunate the? Aaj please ek gana sunye na!
After a few seconds the sound of guitar came floated from the receiver.
Dheere chalna hai mushkil to jaldi hi sahi
Aankhon ke kinaaro mein bahaane hi sahi
Hum chale baharon mein
Gungunati raahon mein
Dhadkane bhi tez hain
Ab kya karein
Waqt hai toh jeene de

Shabdon ke pahaadon pe likhi hai dastaan
Khwabon ke lifaafon mein chhupa hai raasta
Hum chale baharon mein

Khwahishein anjaan hai

He stopped singing and asked in a gentle tone.
Arjun: Sakshi so gyi kya?
When no answer came he cut the call.
Everybody looked at each other.
Armaan: Shyed Arjun ko kisi tarahse pata chal gya hoga ki haam unke bate sun rahe hai. Isslye Sakshi se itne acche se bate kar raha tha.
Everybody murmured in agreement but Dev stayed quite. He got a distinct feeling that tonight they got a glimpse of the real Arjun. The way Arjun act all cold and arrogant is just a show. But why?
Next morning Rudra, Dev, Armaan and Misha went for jogging in a nearby park. They went to call Sakshi if she wanted to come or not. But she already left. Maid informed that she was in jogging suit.
When they went to the park they heard a commotion. A man and woman were arguing with each other. When they went closer they saw it was no other than Sakshi but they couldn't recognize the man. Suddenly to their utter horror he pulled out a gun and pointed it to Sakshi. Out of instinct Sakshi tried to take the gun away but in midst of this he accidently pulled the trigger. The gun fell on Sakshi's hand and the man fall on the pull of his own blood. Seeing the commotion so meone called the police. Beofre Prataps' could even move or say anything the police arrived and arrested Sakshi.
