Final Part

A few hours earlier

Arjun was on his way home, when he received a call, about a crime having been committed. He informed the rest of his team, and since he was quite near the site, he reached there in only a few minutes. Looking around, at the body and every people present, he already had solved the case by the time all his team came.

He was talking with Liza about taking the body for postmortem when he realized that Sakshi wasn't with them. In his haste he had forgotten to inform her, or tell anyone to inform her, or maybe just subconsciously he didn't want to disturb her given the lateness. But as soon as the last thought came to his mind, he pushed it furiously back, and to prove to himself he didn't really care, he called her up and asked her to come.

By the time Sakshi came, he had already nabbed the killer, and the police were taking the killer away. From afar, he saw Sakshi getting down from an auto rickshaw. He didn't move at all, and observed her from there. Since there were many people in middle, he doubted she'd ever see him.

"She looked very cute in kurti," his heart suddenly said to him, while his brain chided him for this.

Sakshi was looking around, probably looking for them, but given the darkness and all, she wasn't seeing anyone at all. She looked lost in that crowd out there, and his heart did a small somersault. He didn't understand what was happening, but since his confused feelings and thoughts were making him angry, he decided to go and shout at the one who was at fault for all this.

He strode towards her slowly, and then suddenly he saw her losing her balance and was gonna fall. like a superhuman, he rushed and before she could fall down, he pulled her to the safety of his arms.

One second, that was all he needed to realize the extent of his feelings. When he felt her safe in his arms, everything changed drastically.

She loved him, he was sure of it. He had seen it countless of times in the way she looked at him, but neither she said anything, nor he made as if he could see her feelings. So he'd ignore her and always hurt her with his snide remarks when he could. he even tried his best to get her out of ETF, but she came back. No matter how much he pushed her away, the next instant she'd somehow get back closer to him.

He looked at her in his arms, he pulled away slightly so that he could see her face. And finally when she opened up her eyes, he stared deeply in them.

He searched her eyes for a long moment, and a few sensations shot through his powerful body as he let the look linger. All his anger had since long gone, and he asked her if she was fine. When Sakshi looked back at him with an incredulous look, his heart jumped in his chest.

All these months, he thought. He'd never really looked at her. He'd never let himself look at her. And today, at this instant, he couldn't stop himself from looking at her. Roshni had been his life, but it seemed Sakshi also meant a lot to his own heart now.

He looked down at her and knew he loved her, suddenly, unbearably. He'd given her hell for everything till now, even those things which wasn't her fault, even insulted her, and said that she disgusted him... And after all that, to discover that he was in love with her...

He was too lost, that he didn't even hear when Sakshi asked him something. His thoughts were only broken when she put her hand on his shoulder, and this made him scared suddenly. He glared at her and went away.

But when has the heart ever headed to one's mind. No matter what, he couldn't stop himself from looking at her, once he was far hidden behind some tree. He saw Aisha talking with her, and then saw her walking away, probably returning home, given the case had already been solved. He came out from his hidden place, and asking his team to complete the remaining formalities, he rushed so that he could offer her a lift back. Now that his heart had finally accepted that he loved her, he couldn't accept that she's go alone at this time home.

But unfortunately he was too late, she had already climbed in an auto. So he only followed her till her place, and waited till she got inside of her flat.

Present

He had waited till she got inside, then switching on the engine, went away. However after driving for some time, he found himself back to where he had started, that is back to Sakshi's flat.

What should he do? He was scared and didn't know how to react at all. This sounded new again to him. He pondered about what to do? He was a broken man, with a heavy past, would he be able to love her?

And what about her? He knew she loved him, but will she be able to deal with him?

But after having lived in darkness for so long, the warmth of Sakshi's love was too enticing to him. He wanted everything, he wanted to be with her...

Pushing all his insecurities aside, he realized that for once, he wanted to be selfish and claim what was his since a long time.

Without wasting anytime, he got out of his SUV and went to her flat. He knocked on the door, and waited. He didn't have to wait for long, when after a few seconds, Sakshi opened the door.

"Arjun, tum?" she asked confusedly, "Do we have another case?"

"Nope," he said while entering inside of her flat. Sakshi had no other choice but to close the door and come behind him.

"Is everything fine? Kya hua?" Sakshi asked, when she saw that Arjun was looking very tired and worried. But instead of answering her, he went to stand in front of a window.

"Arjun, kya hua? Shree, Aisha, Chotu? Anything wrong?" she asked again.

"Everyone is fine," he agreed tiredly. "Except me."

She studied his straight back. "What's wrong?" she asked gently.

"I love you, Sakshi," he said softly.

She felt the words. Actually felt them, like a blinding surge of electric current that made her tremble.

He turned, and she saw the truth in his eyes, in the deep lines of his face.

"Have I shocked you?" he asked harshly. "God knows, I'm surprised myself. I didn't think I could feel that for a woman again. I didn't think I was capable of it."

Her lips parted tremulously, but she couldn't speak. It was too new, too incredible. Was she asleep and dreaming it all? As if no longer able to bear the distance, and her silence, he came toward her. He reached down and swung her up into his arms.

"You don't believe me, do you?" he asked quietly. "Let me prove it to you, Miss Sakshi Anand. Let me show you what I feel."

His arms brought her close and his mouth burned down into hers, opening it, tasting it, devouring it with a hunger that was fierce and scorching.

He dropped down onto the couch, holding her across his lap, touching every soft line of her face with his lips, tenderly smoothing away the tears that his gentleness brought from her closed eyes.

"Arjun...!" she whispered brokenly, clinging to him, "I love you also..."

And then kissed him back, words no longer necessary now.

"Sometimes love happens by accident, when you least expect it. You can't prepare for it, you can't be ready. It just happens."- Unknown

Just came through this one.
The case was already solved but still Arjun called her that too when she was dreaming about her certain Mr. Akdu😉
He behaved so strangely with her and then followed her till home too.
Curious to know further..will read the next part right away.
