"I'll miss you, Arjun. But don't be under the impression that I'll apologise for whatever I've done, because I won't. Tumhaare jitna toh nahi par phir bhi even I have an ounce of ego which does not let me apologise. May be because I'm not feeling guilty for what I've done. Mujhe pata hain ki tum kahonge that life is not all about fun and games. But let me remind you fun and games are part and parcel of the game called life. Shayad isiliye I never feel guilty about the pranks I've played nor the fun I've had. It was all done for bringing a smile on everyone's face. Kyunki gham ke sannatte se bhi khoobsurat hain ek hasi ki goonj." She said with her cheeky grin plasterd on her face. There were many things that were left unsaid. But she had to stop it there or else she may end up sharing her deepest secrets with him.
She extended her hands to shake his and like always the Akdu didn't respond. He sat there with an unreadable expression. "Was he shocked hearing about her decision to resign? Was he a little bit disappointed by what she said because he was expecting something completely different altogether? Don't think too much, Sakshi. it won't do you any good." She thought widening her eyes as if urging him to shake her hands. he took it and the gesture brought back memories of their first meet. Sakshi gave it a light squeeze and left it quickly. She waved a quick bye and hurried out of his cabin. No, she can't afford to break down, not in front of him, not in front of anyone. She had a smile which was reserved for everyone but her tears were her private property.
Arjun was lucky because he never had to hide his pain and tears. But the mask of bubbliness and chirpiness sakshi carried never allowed her to show off her tears. She did not have the privilege to show how deeply wounded she was . She had to keep a happy face even when it was killing her inside. But her acting gifted her a friend, ACP Sameer Rathore.
Rathore's life was much more mysterious than Arjun's. Everyone was curious to know about Arjun's past but not about Sam may be because he was very good in hiding his true self. The guy has lost two of his best friends, one to death, and one to pain. He has to watch his best friend dying every day out of grief and guilt. He could never offer a word of comfort nor a shoulder for support since Arjun may take it as sympathy. That is why he has adorned a mask of hatred towards Arjun even if it was killing him everyday.
Whatever either of them showed to the outer world was just a tip of an iceberg.
Sakshi had probably found a big brother in Sameer. She understood, from the care and concern he showed towards her, that may be Rathore knew about her past. He was the chief and he would have done a thorough background check before letting her in the team. Otherwise why should a no-nonsense cop like him tolerate all of her nonsense. She has been a good friend and sister as well, noticing the budding romance between The chief and Aisha. And like any sister she tried her best to bring their story on track., may be as a return gift for the care and concern he showed.
She passed a smile in his direction when he passed sameer's cabin. And like always he returned a heartwarming smile which showed his support. She definitely needed his support while taking such a bold decision, and he was there as a pillar of strength, letting her follow her heart.
She quickened her steps and soon she was out of the office. She needed some fresh air to clear her mind. Letting go of everything one loves is difficult and it drains out your mental strength. She walked in the direction of the beach and got on top of a lonely set of rocks. She basked in the beautiful sight of setting sun and closed her eyes letting the wind take away all her pains.
"Suicide toh nahin karne vaali ho na?" her eyes flew open when she heard a familiar voice. She turned to the source of the voice and found him standing there looking at the setting sun the sight reflecting on his big spectacles.
Sakshi:"shree tum yahan"
He ignored the question and asked not taking his eyes off the horizon, "jaana zaroori hain kya?"
Sakshi let out a deep sigh and focused her attention back to the horizon. "there is no reason for me to stay back, Shree. Atlast papa ko insaaf dilaya hain. Now all I want is some peace and a new beginning."
"Agar rukne keliye ek reason de doon toh?" Shree asked raising his eyebrows looking at her "then here is one. Ek toote huye bikhre huye dil ko apni pagalpan aur muskuraahaton se repair karna hain. Batavo, kar pavogi?"
She laughed hearing it, so everyone knew about her feelings. And it was not a surprise. There was no way she could have hid it from the team. "yahi sawaal hi toh main khudse pooch rahi hoom. Can i? What if I fail? What if I end up hurting him more?"she said.
Shree : "sirf tum hi kar sakte ho. I know it may take a lifetime but trust me, we'll be always there with you. Aur yah mat kehna ki tumhaare paas time nahin hain. Kyunki mujhe pata hain tumhaare paas bakvaas cheezon ke liye bahut time hain"
Sakshi smacked his head and turned around to see the whole team, except for Arjun standing there. Sameer stood at the back pointing himself and aisha with his fingers and a pleading expression on his face as if begging her to set their love story on the right track. Aisha stood with a smile on her face hands crossed across her chest and occasionally consoling chottu who was on the edge of tears. Liza was tossing a stone in her hands, may be to throw at Sakshi or most pronably at shree if Sakshi's answer was a no'. Shree gave her a side hug assuring her his support.
Yes, may be she should give herself a chance with the mission she was assigned. Getting Arjun back to colors, back to smiles, back to life. She knew she may end up askng for second third or n chances to succeed. But friends like the ones she had now will never let her quit until she succeed. With friends like them no challenge was impossible and life was more beautiful.
