Hi guys!! I think it is the second bahu, the one that K Devi (sorry I forgot her name) said she would never accept as her daughter-in-law. Because if she hasn't left the house, then maybe all the culprit wants is Preeti's shaadi to break, which everyone knows would happen if K Devi is not there. Maybe she feels jealous and sad that she's not accepted? I can't think of what anyone else's motive would be...

quite honestly.. i'll probably be wrong but here is my take

Preeti's engagement was broken before but we don't know the whole story. A mother has more say on who her daughter is going to marry than her son. I think Preeti's first engagement was done to a man of her choice but her mother did not accept; Instead she likes this guy but Preeti does not. Therefore, Preeti kidnapped mother, maybe with the help of one the bahu's or more...
