Just like how you're saying "you people are simply criticising Anupama", they are saying "you are unnecessarily defending Anupama". Why don't you read the rest of the post where they are actually giving points on why her character is wrong? Why catch on to that one thing and pick a fight saying moral policing? There's a whole discussion going on and you're catching on to one line and saying how can you stop me...

No one can stop you from commenting your view just by saying so right? You are free to comment on whatever you want so you can continue to comment on the points of the show. Let's not convert it into a personal fight in every thread.

Open forum for all. and all real people here. Anupama is a character, even the actress playing the role will move on when she gets another role and money to play the character.

It beats me how some women on twitter and forum are sympathetic beyond measure for a fictional character and are ready to defend her every mistake/sin/stupidity.

But they do not have a decency of talking respectfully with the real people who share their opinions here. Out of which there are women who actually are living through pains and difficulties and are trying to be heard by makers so that they stop showing this senseless toxicity of Anupama going back to her abusers.

It is better we try to be human in real life instead of defending this toxic show and its characters.

True words, honestly the actors could care less. They are portraying popular characters and thats it.

Its better to spend respectful time and ideas on the forum with actual people one engages with 👍🏼

But you know what I think is also the problem ... The makers believe that USP of the show is showing the titular character struggling , rona Dhona , being a doormat etc . So even if they show her empowered , happy and getting her priorities right for a little time , they soon feel the need to fall back into the repetitive, toxic patterns of baddua , matka, orat peeda etc .

N it’s not specific to this show , it’s an issue with ITV in general to show FLs as bechari . I have heard in Ghum , the FL is shown to be a doctor but still is jobless and therefore suffering at hands of ex husband ( who btw is not even an ex ) .

And the Pakhi track , where she insulted Anupamaa and called her Kalank etc fetched almost equal or more TRPs than even Maan wedding track , so I guess this toxic negativity and drama actually sells 😕

Anupamaa as a show did a comparatively better job in showing the FLs struggles in first year and then moved on to divorce and the love story etc ... But then they completely lost the plot when they made her go back to SH at time of Kinjal’s pregnancy and then the entire Maykaa deluded crap, Baa jaap etc . Show should have ended at Maan wedding , it’s just dragging uselessly now ...

There is definitely a lot more that could be shown, but they are unwilling to put in resources that would build up on Anupamaa. Its easy to be status quo, when they still rate well

Yup, writers and CVs are not doing some ehsaan on us by giving us a good storyline. It's their basic duty. And we, as viewers, have every right to WATCH and criticise it. So shall we also extend this logic to them constantly showing Shah drama and giving them screen time? If you don't like it change the channel, don't criticise or talk about it or ask makers to change things then.

It’s not even duty, it’s their bread and butter. Writers bakwaas karenge toh show band ho jayega.

Wow - this topic is 9 pages! Opened the forum and was surprised that there was so much discussion

Anupamaa is a reel character -

A person like Anupamaa does not exist! this is just a show!

As viewers, we can bring out a POV and discuss it, also PH has some moral responsibility toward educating/advocating the right issues and they're royally butchered it.

For the trp folks, portions of the show resonate with them on different levels, as they see something reflect in their own lives maybe, their own struggles. when individual scenes watched by themselves do give a good message but it's lost in the bigger picture of subpar writing and execution.

Unfortunately for the past almost 1 yr the CVs writers/production house has no idea how to establish a long-term story and subplots within it like the 'General hospital' or 'Young and Restless' types that have been going on for 40+yrs!! So the stories/subplots they are presenting are just crap, they have no head or tail of days/dates/ ages/characterization - I bet even the actors must be rolling their eyes when they read their next day's scripts hahahaa

Coming to today's episode - Anupamaa's bhashan about who/why/when/how was all well and done but the reason it lost its effect is the plot/setting were all incorrect. All the students had to do was introduce themselves - NONE of them needed to go in their ram kahani

Just a simple 30-second elevator speech from each of them - this is a finance short-term course, not a therapy or AA session where we want to know the ramayan, why/who you are, based on all your life circumstances, in such a setting knowing the background is necessary.

CVs could've done this at the canteen, or say before the teacher came where there is plenty of chit chat time!

Basically, it is diwali and just a filler episode - CVs didn't know what to do - so faltu ghusad diya sub extras ko gave them screenspace

Waise dekha jaye to who fill the application form on dhantera and goes to college the next day! Kya bundle bazi hai! and then college is open for just 1 day for introductions only! Hum, konsa college hai!

I mean for most of us took a few months to apply, and collect all paperwork, letters of recommendation, statements of purpose, old mark sheets etc etc But its a soap opera - tv magic

Can't waste brain power over this -

On another note about going to school at any age! Why is this an issue, I know for sure, ppl in 50s 60s 70s are still learning and going to school/college, why is there such a highlight on this topic?

Learning NEVER stops, Continuing education is an ongoing journey, ppl of all ages are taking classes, upgrading skills, learning new subjects, & keeping up professional licenses, or changing careers.

It's a big deal for Anupamaa to be able to cross that hurdle as she had been an abused housewife, and it's definitely a positive step for her, but the rest of the world is already doing it. Aren't we all? Am I missing something?

I feel many of us come from different environments/cultures/educational backgrounds/opportunities and cannot understand or empathize with Anumpaa's situation or people who come from such backgrounds, for us things she does with great difficulty are second nature to us.

In Anupamaa's case, she has a loving/caring wealthy supportive husband/daughter and she has a 2nd chance at life - she needs to seize the opportunity and leave the Shahs, it would be their loss - not hers!

But then there wouldn't be ITV drama!

So the thing that makes Pushpa Impossible a better show is that she seizes the moment and moves forward, doesn't dwell in the past, and tries to better herself in spite of her circumstances with the opportunities she's either given or carved out!

In Anupamaa, that's where the disconnect is! If Anupmaa makers/cv/ph just did not dramatize with OTT chillam chilli and drama and had a real-life story ppl would connect with her life story and appreciate and applaud her growth.

I finished a 45-hour course over the past few months to keep up my professional license, I had to go for virtual classes, some in-person classes, and some lunch and learn series! You have to continue to learn, to keep up with what's going on within your field, in the market, with competition etc

Even big CEOs COOs take classes all the time, from ethics to laws to what's new in technology - isn't everyone doing this?

Eg my aunt is 70yrs and she's started learning french ( she lives in India) She doesn't need to but wants to learn a new language. My uncle, is 75 and started to learn photoshop, he loves photography but wants to learn how to use the software, there are highschool age kids in his class too - so there is NO age to learn a new skill or upgrade a skill.

So folks dekhte raho - take the good and leave the rest bakvas low grade dramas!

And absolutely call out the rubbish - from DKP or a specific episode most of you have seen me call out on Twitter or in the forum too:)

Enjoy, apna khoon mat jalao in the end they are all characters, and like one of our forum friends said, the actors get paid, and they will move on once the show is done:) So enjoy while it lasts.

I'm imagining recommendation letter for Anupama. All that comes to mind is a blank sheet of paper.🤣 Anyone want to try writing a reco for jagat janani, Anu the maa?🤓 Humour me please....
