In OG Show, Anupama never accepted Anuj's love in fear of society though she did love him. She proposed to marry him only when Anuj's character got cancer and she realized if he dies there is nothing left for her. For that she said even if her kids does not agree with her decision she is ready to break all rishtas with anyone and then they got married and Anuj's character died.
