Smiling to himself in the mirror he thought of how she carelessly stared at him all the way on their drive home and how adorably she waved him goodbye. There was something unusually enticing about it.
He had mastered the art of reading her face, he knew what she felt with even the slightest change in her expression, but this was different. He could tell there was something strangely new and rewarding about the way she looked at him today.
He didnt know what she meant to convey with her awestruck look and he wanted to believe it was something to do with him but was very cautious with building his hopes.
It could well be another one of his pleasurable imaginations he thought and dismissed the feeling but it came back to tease him at the end of every passing moment.
Finding it hard to ignore the temptation, he closed his eyes and replayed the scenes in his head for the umpteenth time.

“ye mai kya soch rahi hoon...mai aur Anuj?...saath?”
Tired, /9th mentally and physically she dropped herself on her bed and closed her eyes hoping it was all a dream...
She couldn't bring herself to think about anything right now...scared to revisit the emotion she had buried deep within her heart, she scrunched her eyes to force herself to sleep but his thoughts flooded her mind, yet again.
Anu had never taken the time to think about herself, her family was always her priority but what he said earlier touched her heart...he asked her to give herself some time and look after herself, for him.
With Bapuji’s words ringing in ears and Anuj’s overlapping them, she knew this was going to be another long night, but the thought of seeing him in the morning made her happy...
She didn't know she felt for him in that moment and neither was she in a rush to define the emotion. She left it to her heart and said a little prayer to Kanhaji to show her the way.

“Anuj tu itni subah kyu jaa raha hai beta? nashta toh karle” asked GK when he saw Anuj suited and booted and ready to leave.
“nahi GK mai office mein kuch kha loonga, meri important meeting hai aur Anupama ko bhi maine jaldi aane ko kaha hai “ said Anuj and smiled involuntarily at the mention of her name.
“bada khush lag raha hai, kuch hua tha kya kal raat?” GK knew that look quite well....
‘Kal raat? haan...’ playing the events of the night in his head again, he cheerfully walked out the door....
“haan...kuch hua toh tha usey...par pata nahi kya” he mumbled to himself thinking about her incessant stare.

The new sunrise greeted her with a new hope, unwrapping the towel from her wet hair, Anu wished for clarity, in her thoughts and feelings. It wasn't going to be easy for her to restart this demanding journey again but she wasn't one to give up at the starting point.
Love may not happen to her again and she may not be able to open her heart to him but she was ready to give herself a second chance.
For him, for them.
