Side Characters

This is just another rant post, questioning CVs creative limits😆

It has been usually like today's episode, but today I couldn't help but notice much more.

All of the side characters apart from Baa, Vanraj, Kavya, Anupamaa and Anuj - they just have one job. Either to support Anupamaa almost blindly or scheme against her on every opportunity they get.

Especially the one who supports her, doesn't have their own characterism. Like today - the half of the episode was focused on how bad Bapuji was as a father.

Dolly was there, she isn't type to stay silent - but she being a real blood daughter wasn't given a single line.

I get it that Anu needs to be Mahan constantly by either sacrificing or by saving others. But personally I felt that this battle belonged to dolly more than Anupamaa.

It didn't fit right with me, how dolly kept quiet when she was directly involved. And Anu although being right was highlighted a bit too much.

PS: people who might get offended don't misunderstand - by no means I meant that Anu should have been a doormat and kept quiet. But just dolly should have given more lines. Similarly other side characters too like Kinjal.

Supporting Anu is good but personally, I don't want it that to be their full time job and in this case role.

i think they are using the ensemble cast very well. In Pakhi meltdown scene she was the focus. Kavya firing from AK industry , things revolved Around Vanya and Anupama.

In the scene Anupama walked out It was Bapuji & Anupama. The previous day Leela Vanya and Anupama.

Single Single was Ma An. Anupama in her moms house it was Devika, Ma An and Kanta ben.

Confession day belonged to Anuj. Paritosh - Anupama show down wa Kontosh MaAn.

Post confession it was Samar Anupama GKAnuj.

Dolly Vanraj show down was Dolly and Vanraj.

Maamaji also has been saying a line or two now a days.

When there is a emotionally charged track giving a line to each of the cast will dilute the intensity of the scene.

Leela losing her baa Baghwan mantle is this track. even the lines to Anupama were limited.

Some days the ensemble cast is like a prop in the scene.

Tommorow dolly will try to speak but bolne nahi degi
