Vanraj knows very well that Anupama is an ideal wife and also Kavya is not wife material for him. He was attracted to Kavya just because she is completely opposite of Anupama and way too modern than her.

But Anupama is the root of his family and he knows that. He would never risk to break his family and spoil his image in front of them.

I mean he might have tried to change Anupamaa like how he gifted Anupamaa during her first pregnancy, bought a car because he didn't want his family to suffer, tried to earn more money and be successful. It shows that he might be a loving husband in past. But I guess his mother's aversion towards Anupamaa influenced him and as soon he got more attracted to outer world, he stopped caring about her. And Anupamaa too might not want to change herself.

Not that it justifies his cheating, but it doesn't seem Vanraaj cheated her from first day. I hope after revealation, she becomes more smart and confident.

Anupamaa is a progressive woman. She was elated to know that Toshu has a gf and not made a hue and cry. She even let Kinjal and Toshu spend quality time together. And she also knows where to draw the line.

I hope she draws the line with Kavya in future.

He has been used to it

Theres' lots of men like him they only want to have someone outside and to feel and re-live the same emotions, feelings and youth time as it was a time. They are not ready to accept their age that they are growing old, they find a woman outside their home only to have a good time, this make them feel like they are still young and find their wives to be old..Vanraj is such a character.
