October 2, 2007 quickie.

SKPD does not find out anything about Jamuna.

RK is back. So are ACDs parents. 👏 👏 They have even discussed some dates for the wedding. ACD tells them to rest first and then talk about marriage. He goes to make them coffee.

Pecchi patti calls up SKPD and advises him to quit all his bad deeds, come clean and unite Chinna Pecchi and Muthlaxmi. PP says she knows Charu is Muthulaxmi, SKPD is shocked on hearing this.

Abirami consults a lawyer regarding the Srini issue, wants to know if Srini can go and sign the papers without her knowledge and claim the house. Lawyer says its not possible. Shanti and Arjun also consult a lawyer who says it is not possible for Srini to come, sign and claim the house. All paper work have to done afresh.

SKPD is considering retiring from all his business and other activities. He asks Kannaku what other business he knows. Kannaku senses what is going in SKPDs mind and advises SKPD against it.

Abirami and Shanti meet at the supermarket. Shanti tells her just helping and attending Raji's funeral does not make her a good person, the right thing for Abirami to do would be to hand over the house to RK. Shanti tells Abirami that she can be in the good books of RK because of Raji's funeral, but should not try to act smart (or something to that effect). CONTINUED.

Eljay, my sympathies for having to put up with male chauvinism. Not that I have not been at the receiving end myself. Ain't got no husband, MCP or otherwise, so can't complain on that score. Neither was it dad or my brothers who subjected me to second-class treatment. Ironically, it was my mum. She would expect my sister and myself to wait on our brothers, including the younger ones. And that notwithstanding the fact that she herself resented Dad's male chauvinism. (Yes, Dad was a male chauvinist towards mum but he encouraged his daughters to stand up for their rights!)

What I find disappointing is that the producers of Anandham have tried to project themselves as being progressive in the department of how women are treated and yet are making no effort to portray their male lead, our ACD, as a standard-bearer of men who respect women as equals.

As I've mentioned in previous posts, most of the women in Anandham are strong-willed ones whom no husband could repress. In a couple of episodes, Omni chided Shyam for (i) reading mail meant for Uma and (ii) slapping Uma. Of course, Raji was never treated with respect by RK until he took on a new avatar following his ashram sojourn and she never complained nor was the viewer made to concsicously identify with her plight as the subservient woman. In the Madhan vs Rohini case, the producers are clearly leading the audience to sympathise with Rohini, so that's commendable.

But the behaviour of the ACD character was appalling in last Wednesday's episode. He is the darling of many fans of Anandham, so I hope the producers show him becoming enlightened and more respectful of Priya and women in general. Hopefully, Omni or Priya herself will chide him and lead him to be more respectful of Priya.

Perhaps in a future episode, ACD will serve Priya a meal at his home and wait upon her?

Perhaps a happy Abhirami after knowing that Charu is her mum might hand over the house to RK. Who knows it could be Charu who is finally able to drill some sense into Abhirami's empty shell for all her crooked deeds.. 😆

I feel like we're going in circles with this serial. Can't they limit a serial to 1.5 years max.

Seriously, been watching off and on since it started. 6 years are over and we're no farther from the end then we were 6 years ago.

Thank goodness for this site. You guys save me so much time. I watch only the episodes that are worth watching or the impact scenes.

Plus I irritate the faithful watchers at home by spilling the beans, which means I don't have to sit there and watch.
