Independence day and 16th show: how was it?

If we take all the songs done by several contestants on the eve of Independence day (including the other show going on) A R Rehman's compositions rule, be it looka chippi (RDB) or mera range de (Shaheed Bhagat Singh) all are wonderful. We are lucky to have a composer like him in the time when music is degressing globally.

IMHO Mallar deserved to move forward at this point, his rendition of zindagi maut na ban jaye (Sarfarosh) was impressive this is a difficult song based on raag tilanga and I find him versatile, but fine, all the best Mallar.

Rahul was fine with mera rang de but he must give up his habit of bending backward, (Rahul pls live with head erect and high).

It was nice to hear Ritisha and Shraddha together and I found scale a bit lower, it could have been better.

Coming to 16 th Aug performances I found only Ritisha and Rahul up to the mark, here I want to stress on the fact that while Ritisha demonstrated good taiyyari over kharaj sur the baaghbaan song may not have a mass appeal, this becomes an imprtant factor when public is voting (which now I feel is better going by the track record of horrible judging going around in reality shows), IMHO if she picked up something like aao na gale laga lo na like Sayanatani, she would have left an indelible impression, she is very good but correct song selection is even more important.

this week i liked rahul and rithisha also. dont know why rithisha sang such a small part of "baghban," but as much as it was it was nice. sayantani and shraddha on the second day were getting breathless, and it was weak overall. ryan's sur was going everywhere. i thought ravi's "pal" was beautifully sung, though he was getting off taal in quite a few places. the rest didnt make a mark in my head, so i dont remember them

Vipulisalso getting betterwith eachepisode.I likedboth his luka chuppiand Dil keh raha hai.It was really nice.

Why was Ritisha's song stopped abruptly? Looked like she sang it more otherwise why would the judges give her 27? Is Star playing some dirty tricks?? I hope she stays on.

The singers were very bad... Except for Ritisha and VIpul none were good on friday and on saturday also, Ritsha was good.. All were loosing their sur, changing scales many a times.. The singers this time are of very low in quality... Why not? If those who got eliminated in audition rounds in first season are being brought back, then what else can we expect...
