Vasu chandni chowk is the gali opposite Red Fort... it is adjacent to Jama Masjid... there is also a gurudwara and a temple there.... there are shops galore in Chandni Chowk. One of its gali Dariba is mentioned in the song Kajra re... remember the song Kajra re has the lines 'Tujh se milna purani dilli main, chod aaye nishani dilli mein, Balli maran se Daribe talak, teri meri kahani dilli mein'... well the lines are a reference to Ghalib's life.... The best places to eat at Chandni Chowk are Parathey wali gali and the gol gappas and dahi bhallas at the stall below SBI bank. If you read up its history, a visit to Chandni Chowk becomes even more memorable. 😊

Well Vasu I dun think it's absurd I think it's only natural that we wish to know more about the ppl we are in close contact with.😊 I too wish to meet n know all friends here .😊

Well i love the sea so Goa figures right after Kerela for me. The North East is beautiful (havent seen but heard heaps about it).... so is Kashmir (have seen). Actually Kashish, i think each state in india has something or the other to offer.... places of historical interest, places that are a foodie's delight, places of religious interest that can have a charm and appeal of their own.... India ki har gali, har nukkad, har chaurahe mein kuch interesting dikh jaata hai.... ok, i'm exxagerating... but there are all kinds of tourist spots... and then there are the cities with their own cultures, languages and ethos.... and then there is the small town india which is similar to the city in certain ways and different from it in others... ab dilli ko hi dekh lo... there is purani delhi with chandni chowk and red fort and jama masjid and karim's and paratheywali gali and at the same time there is new delhi with its swanky malls and wide roads and open spaces. I'll stop before i start sounding like the Incredible India ads on tv. 😊

Anyway, i will not go on and on... will just say that pick a place, explore it as much as possible and enjoy your holiday.

The people overthere were so freindly, and it was whole new experince for me to travel rajshtan to see the palaces and lived in dessert and traveled whole dessert on the camel and visit the small villages and saw how they live. In some of the villeges they dont nothing about America. I found it was very strange. may be i like east because i am from gujarat.it is not that bad as you think there so many things to see.

So Swetal...so we are three gujjus in this forum now ...I have only visited so far Mumbay , Delhi , Agra and Hyderbad ....all the cities are unique and beautiful ...😊
