she might have found out that those guys are spying on her and if she had directly went to Akash then they will find out that he is a DIB agent so she might have thought to tell him her message indirectly through Ananya. As she thinks that they might not doubt her

I think as the DIB already was in search of the diary so it might be that since they knew that Ananya was looking for Akash when he was not around. So they might also have been keeping an eye on her. So it might be that the coffee agent felt odd that she went to another locker so he kept an eye on her and recorded her movements. And after Ananya getting the diary out he knew that it was Mahima's diary. So he informed the boss about it
