CHAPTER:5

The whole week went like the same and Akya avoided each other as much as possible.They only meet in the waiting room and Ananya always found Natasha with him.Seeing them both close to each other Ananya heart stung but she kept eveything within herself and acted like nothing happened.Rohit continued to visit her while Meera visted her house couple of times.Its was the friday morning Ananya was sitting in the waiting room reading a magazine in her uniform as her flight was 3 hours delay due to storm .Akash was sitting in the other corner talking with Natasha while Captain Rathore was sitting watching TV.Akash who was talking with Natashe had his eyes on Ananya as he was really missing her for the last 6 days as he didn't even fly a single flight with Ananya as Meera promised.But what hurted him most was that Ananya didn't even look at his direction for the last 6 days.Everyone could feel the tension between them but none spoke about it for which Akash was so glad as he didn't want Ananya go through any problems.Ananya on the other hand was waiting for Rohit or Meera's call as Rohit informed her that he was going to propose Meera last night and she was really happy for her best friends.She hoped Meera will say yes though she already know she wil say yes.But she really didn't want Rohit or Meera to get hurt coz she know the pain of being rejected in love. Thinking of the word love made memories which she really wanted to forget,she immediately stood up from her seat and went to get a coffee.Just then the door of the waiting room slammed open catching everyone's attention and they saw a very smiling Rohit entering the room .Ananya seeing his smile understood Meera said yes last night as smiled in relief.But the next moment Ananya was pulled into a bone crushing hug by Rohit.

''Thank you so much Ananya .Meera said yes to my proposal ''said Rohit in a cheerful voice.

''Rohit...can't...breath''said Ananya as Rohit was huging her forgetting her strength .Hearing this Rohit left her and rubbed the back of his head .

''I know you are happy Rohit.But planning to kill me by your happiness is not fair''said Ananya with a glare by a small smile played on her lips.

''Sorry.Its just i am happy''said Rohit and then only he noticed Ananya was not alone in the room.

''So where is Meera?''asked Ananya but before Rohit could replay a voice came from the door.

''I am here you cheater''said Meera standing near the door folding her arms on her chest with a glare.

''Me?Cheater?''asked Ananya in an innocent voice knowing why Meera is calling her like that.

''Oh please Miss.Rawat don't act innocent.Even though you know he is going to propose me you didn't tell me about it .''said Meera with a fake glare and Ananya smiled at her friends antics.

''But i don't think you are upset about it as i can see how happy Rohit is''said Ananya and Meera smiled at her comment.

''Arrey then what to do Ananya he was giving me his puppy looks and i didn't have the heart to say no''said Meera with a smile and Rohit looked with ''Are you for real?''look.Meera then hugged Ananya with a smile.

''But thanks for helping Ananya .Last night was one of the best night in my life''said Meera and broke the kiss.

''Its ok Meera.Afterall what are friends for ?''asked Ananya with a smile.

''Ok guys but we have an engagement party after two weeks i want you guys to come to the party''said Rohit looking Akash,Natasha and captain Rathore and they all agreed with a smile.

''Ok i will leave now as i have a meeting .you girls catch up ''said Rohit and left the room.

''Ananya let go and have a coffee in the resturant nearby .I really want to talk with you about last night''said Meera with a gleefull smile.

''But Meera i have a flight in 21/2 hours ''said Ananya and Meera gave her a understanding smile.

''I think you should Ananya ''said captain Rathore which shocled Ananya.

''I mean we still have more time left so go and have a talk i will meet you in the flight''said Rathore with a small smile.For the last 6 days Ananya and Rathore was flying together and both started to respect each other.

''Ok captain .Then i will meet you in the flight ''said Ananya and left with Meera.

Ananya was sitting in the cockpit after checking the last minute arrangements as she heard the cockpit door open.Ananya turned with a smile to great captain Rathore.

''Good morning captain...Akash''finished Ananya as her smile faded seeing him.Its still stung to see the person who she loved [still loves]the most and the same person who broke her heart.

''Good morning First officer Ananya''said Akash taking his seat.

''Where is captain Rathore?''asked Ananya in a monotone voice.

''He went home to take care of a family problem''said Akash and Ananya just gave a nod.The entire ride was silent and when the flight landed they left for the hotel.

Ananya was standing on the balcony of her hotel room taking with on of her school friend.Just then she saw Akash walking to the pool talking in mobile and Ananya kept looking at him.He stood there like a greek god and the ray of the evening sun on him made him more handsome.Ananya cursed herself for drooling him and turned as she continued to talk with her friend.After few minutes she ended the call and was about to leave the balcony,but at the last moment she got this extreme need to look at him once and she did.But what she saw made her face to go pale and felt like someone took her life from her body.She saw two men standing above Akash who was laying on the floor clutching his head near the swimming with a rod in their hands .Ananya immediately ran out of her room without wasting a second .Ananya ran as fast as she could and went she entered the elevator she called the reception and informed about the attack on Akash.When Ananya came near the pool she saw the gaurds running after two masked men while a guy trying to wake Akash .Ananya ran and sat beside Akash taking his head on her lap.She cupped his face as tears escaped from her eyes and landed on Akash cheek.

''Please call the ambulance''pleaded Ananya to the guy and the guy looked at her with simpathy.

''Mam we already called the ambulance .It will arrive soon''said the guy.Ananya just nodded her head and felt her geans becoming wet with his blood.she removed the scarf from her neck and tied it around his head .

''Akash ..please open your eyes.Please Akash''sobbed Ananya as she continued to caress his forehead with one hand and holding his hand in other.After few seconds Akash slightly opened his eyes and looked at Ananya who was sobbing .Akash was really touched to see her crying for him even after how much pain she went through by HIM.He pressed her hand which was in his with much difficulty.Ananya immediately opened her eyes feeling his touch and looked at Akash who was trying hard to keep his eyes open.She immediately cupped his face caressing it softly.

''Akash please keep your eyes open .The ambulance will be here any second and you will be fine once we reach the hospital.So please be with me Akash.''said Ananya while Akash try to replay her.

''Ana...nya ...i ...i ..am..''struggled Akash to complete the senntence but Ananya keep her hand on his mouth .

''No Akash don't say anything you must save your energy ''said Ananya just then she heard the ambulance enter the hotel and within seconds few mens came and carefully took Akash to the Ambulance.Ananya didn't leave Akash hand the whole time and she too got inside the ambulance .The nurse inside the ambulance immediately started to first aid after placing the oxygen mask on his nose.After few seconds the nurse finished the dressing and loved at Ananya looking Akash who lost his consious again with tears in her eyes.The nurse kept a comforting hand on her shoulder and Ananya looked at her.

''Don't worry beta .your husband will be fine''said the nurse with a soft smile .

''Are you sure?''asked Ananya like a child and the nurse nodded her head.Ananya again turned toward Akash and held his hands tightly.She then slowly caressed his face and kissed his forehead.

''Please Akash don't leave me.I can never live without you .please don't give up''said Ananya with a teary voice.After few minutes they reached the hospital and Akash was immediately taken to O.T while Ananya crumbled on a chair she looked at her hand which was covered with blood .Akash blood .After few seconds her mobile rang and she wiped her tears to see the caller ID.Ananya attend the call seeing it was Meera.

''Hey Ananya are you ok.I am really sorry yaar,i know you didn't want to fly with Akash but you know it was emergency so he came with you.Are you ok Ananya ?Did he hurt you ?''asked Meera without letting Ananya speak.But Ananya can't even replay as she let out a sob.Hearing her sob Meera became alert and concern for Ananya.

''Ananya what happened dear?Does Akash did something?Please tell me ''asked Meera with concern.

''Meera ...woh..Ak...Akash...''said Ananya between her sobs.

''What the hell did now?''asked Meera in an angry tone

''Akash has been attacked Meera''said Ananya with a sob.

''What?''asked Meera in shock.

''Haan Meera he lost so much blood and he is in O.T now.I am so scared Meera''said Ananya trying to control her sob.

''Ananya please calm down.Akash will be alright dear.I will come there with Rohit ASAP .So be calm Ananya''said Meera in a soft voice.

''He will be alright na?''asked Ananya and Meera really felt bad for her.

''Ofcourse honey he will be fine.But Ananya you have to calm down and we will reach there ASAP.ok''asked Meera

''Ok''said Ananya and disconnected the call and prayed god to keep Akash safe.

After 4 hours Meera and Rohit arrived at the hospital and Meera was the first to find Ananya sitting on the chair closing her eyes resting her head on the wall

''Ananya''Called Meera and Ananya immediaely opened her eyes and looked at Meera and Ananya immediately stood up and came rushing hugging Meera as she started to cry and Meera too wrapped her arms around Ananya.

''Shhh Ananya he will be fine .Please calm down ''said Meera rubbing her back .After few minutes Ananya calmed down and Meera made her sit on the chair as Meera and Rohit occupied the seat on beside her.

''What docotors said ?''asked Meera in a soft voice while Rohit wrapped his arm around her giving her comfort.

''They didn't say anything Meera.I was waiting for the last 3 hours,but i didn't get any news about his condition''said Ananya as a tear rolled down her eye.

''Ok you wait her i will go and see what's happening .''said Meera and looked at Rohit and he nodded his head.Meera went to see a nurse to let her enter the O.T and Rohit cupped Ananya's face.

''Ananya what happen?''asked Rohit in a soft voice and Ananya explained everything.

''I really don't know why someone will attack Akash .I am really scared Rohit .What if something happens to him.Why everyone i love is leaving me ?First my parents,and now Akash.why i getting this much punished in my life Rohit ''asked Ananya in a broken voice and a defeated face .Rohit's heart pained to see her like this and pulled her into a hug .

''Ananya nothing is going to happen to him .He will be fine and will get well soon.so stop crying like a bahu in saas bahu serial.I mean if you spend all the tears today what will you do when you get married''said Rohit in a teasing voice with a smile which made Ananya smile a bit .she know he was trying to make her smile ans she really appreciated it.After few seconds Rohit broke the hug and cupped her face.

''Ananya he will be alright so stop worrying ok''asked Rohit and Ananya nodded.Just the they saw Meera coming out of the O.T in her green uniform .

''How is he ?''asked Ananya once Meera came near them.

''Well the operation is successful .He has a broken rib apart from the head injury.''said Meera but both of them could sense a but.

''But/..?''asked Ananya and Meera took a deep breath.

''But if he didn't wake up in 12 hours he may slip into coma''said Meera and Ananya felt lher world crumble .

''But Ananya we have hope.There are only 15% of chances that he may slip into coma.Don't lose hope honey ''said Meera and Ananya composed herself and nodded.

''Can i see him?''asked Ananya as she was dying to see Akash for the past hours.

''They will shift him to ICU after 30 minutes then you can see him.But before than lets go to the hotel and change your clothes..And don't even think of protesting as your clothes are tained with blood .I will stay here with Akash and take care of him.You go with Rohit and come back having a shower and food so go now''said Meera and Ananya nodded as she know Meera was right.

''Ok but please take care of him Meera.''asked Ananya and Meera nodded .

''I will Ananya now go''said Meera and Ananya left with Rohit with a heavy heart.

Once they reached her room in the hotel Rohit asked Ananya to have a bath while he waited in the room.Ananya took a purple cotton gown and entered the washroom .Once Ananya stood under the shower slipping out of her clothes she let the tears flow again .But after few seconds she composed herself and took a quick shower and came out of the washroom in 10 minutes.When she came back she saw Rohit talking with police in the mobile about the attack .Once he finished the call he looked at Ananya with a smile which she returned.

''Hey i have order food .we can leave once you have it''said Rohit and Ananya sat on the bed and started to eat the food.After finishing it Ananya stood up from the bed .

''Rohit can we go?''asked Ananya and Rohit could see the fear and pain in her eyes.He went and took her into a brotherly hug caressing her back.Ananya too hugged him back as she needed this comfort really bad.

''Ananya he will be fine ''said Rohit as Ananya nodded her head which was resting on his chest.

''Ok lets go and see him''said Rohit breaking the hug and both of them left to the hospital.

once they reached the hospital Ananya entered the Akash's room with Rohit and both of them saw Meera sitting on the couch reading a magazine.

''Hey ''said Meera looking both of them as she came and gave both of them a hug.

''Ananya he is doing fine as i said .But he must gain consious soon.''said Meera and Ananya nodded .

''I think you both should go and have rest.''said Ananya looking both of them .

'' No Ananya we are not going to leave you alone''said Rohit and Meera to agreed.

''No guys you both already did a lot by coming in this odd hour .so you both should rest now''said Ananya with a look that said there is no place for argument .

''ok we will leave but call us if you want anything''said Meera and Ananya nodded .After Rohit and Meera left giving Ananya a hug she finally looked at Akash who was laying on the bed with wires attached to his body,IV in one hand and oxygen mask on his face.Ananya's heart broke to see him like this and she walked towards the bed and sat on the chair.She gently took his hand in hers kissing it softly .She softly caressed his forehead .

''Akash please wake up.I know you must be in pain and i know how nice it feel to be in deep sleep without caring the world and forgetting the pain.But don't do that Akash and please fight the pain .I know i am not the one you love ,but atleast fight for your family and for Natasha who is your best friend.Please Akash don't to this to me ,i can live without you .But i can never with the thought that you are not in this world.I have lost lot of people in my life Akash and i can never handle if i loose you too.So please come back to me Akash''said Ananya as tears flowed from her eyes.She just want Akash to open his eyes and look at her to say ''I am '' and nothing more.

Akash was feeling like he was laying in a dark room and he tried to open his eyes.But he can't even move a bit as he felt some weight was placed on his eyelids.Just then he felt a very familiar hand taking his hand and placing a soft kiss.Akash immediately know who it is.Just then he felt the same hand caressing his forehead and placing a light kiss there.Then he heart the voice taking his name which she craved for the last 6 days.He heard each and every word she said and felt like taking her in his arms and say that he loves only one person in his life.And its only her.After struggling for few minutes he somehow managed to open his eyes and his vision was fuzzy.

Ananya who noticed his struggling to open his eyes smiled a little in relief .She immediately cupped his face wiping her tears.

''Akash come on open your eyes.I am here ,you are safe Akash .Please try to open your eyes''said Ananya in a soft voice holding Akash hand bit tightly but carefully not hurting it.

''An..an..ya''said Akash in a low voice through his oxygen mask.

''Haan Akash its me.Wait here i will be back with the doctor ''said Ananya and stood up from the chair but Akash held her hand .

''Do...Don't...Go''said Akash as a tear slipped from his eyes .Ananya gently wiped the tear as Akash looked at her with tired eyes.

''Akash i am not going anywhere .But i need to get doctor now.So i will be back within seconds ok''said Ananya and gently removed his hand from her wrist and placed it on the bed leaving the door.

After few minutes the doctors came out of Akash room and Ananya who was waiting outside rushed to them.

''How he is doctor?''asked Ananya and the doctor gave her a smile keeping a comforting hand on her shoulder.

''He is perfectly fine.But he must take complete bed dress for next 3 weeks and avoid any kind of stress.He will be week for few days from the blood loss but apart from that nothing to worry.You can take him home day after tomorrow''said the doctor and Ananya smiled truly for the first time in the whole week.

''Thank you so much doctor''said Ananya .

''Its our duty.Now you can go and meet him''said the doctor and Ananya entered the room.

Akash was laying on the bed closing his eyes after the oxygen mask was removed and was thinking about the event of this evening.He remebered how scared Ananya was when she was crying with him in her lap.Akash was really suprises that she still cared so much for him after he broke her heart mercilessly.But ofcourse she is Ananya and she is unquie.Though it warmed his heart to know someone cared for him and loves him unconditionally he can't be selfish with Ananya as his life is nothing but danger.He know what he is doing is unforgiveable but he is compel by his job and destiny to do it.Just then he heard the ICU door and Ananya's fragnance hit him .He opened his eyes and looked at Ananya who was now standing only a few feet away from the bed at looking him with Puffy eyes which showed she must cried lot.Ananya stood there looking at him with relief and happiness that he is fine.

''Ananya''said Akash and Ananya immeditely rushed to him and hugging him.she didn't care he didn't love her,she didn't care he broke her hurt and hurted her ,she didn't care she was just a mistake for him.she didn't care she will be always a first officer for him.The only thing she cared now is ,he is safe ,alive not a history and that mattered to her more than her pain and hurt.Ananya started to sob with relief and happiness while Akash wrapped his arm around her rubbinh her back.None of them said anything as both of them know if they break the silence the moment wil spoil and both of them didn't want the moment to end.Ananya on the other hand was suprised that Akash wrapped his arm aroung her but she let it go as she really want this moment to last.

''I am fine Ananya''said Akash after few seconds as he felt Ananya stopped sobbing.Ananya felt a warm spread through her body when she heard her name leave his lips.

''I was scared Akash.please don't do this to me again''said Ananya in low voice.

''But why Ananya ?Even after i broke your heart why you care about me ?''asked Akash lost in the moment .Ananya on the other know after she replay to his question she will be getting hurt,but she also know she can never let Akash go if she kept this with herself .sso she took a deep breath and uttered the three words which she promised herself not to tell him at anycost.

''Because I love you Akash''said Ananya and Akash body went stiff as he never though he will get this answer from her.she loves him.This kept revolving in his head ,but he remembered what happened to everyone that loved him and he closed his eyes to get some strength for what he is going to do next.Akash pulled Ananya from his chest and looked at her with an emotionless face and Ananya prepared herself for what coming next.coz she know whatever now Akash is goint to say is going to break her heart yet again

''But Ananya i don't love you and never can.I never saw you more than a friend .I am very thankful that you saved my life ,but its better if you stay away from me.Because Natasha will not like this ''said Akash cursing himself for the each word she uttered.Ananya know his words will hurt her but she never though it will hurt her like this,She felt like someone was pouring acid on her whole body.His each and every word is literally killing her again,but she composed herself not want to break down infront of him.But when he heard Natasha's word from Akash she understood that they were never just friend and she was the fool to love a man who was never her's in the first place.He always belonged to Natasha thought Ananya .

Akash noticed how she was trying to control her emotions but he can read her like a open book.He noticed all the emtionals that played in her eyes though her remained calm .After few seconds Ananya took a deep breath and left his hand which was in his.

''I know Akash you will never lov me.Afterall i just a orphan and a normal girl.I know its my mistake that i fell in love with you when you never saw me more than a friend but i am not sorry for that Akash .I can never be sorry or regreat loving you.I just wanted you to know my feelings so that i can move on and try to be happy.But don't worry Akash i will never disturb you again.''said Ananya just then her phone beeped and she saw a message from Meera that she was on the way to the hospital with Rohit.Ananya replied that Akash was awake and fine .Then she looked at Akash again locking her mobile.

''I will leave now Ak.. Captain Akash .Meera will be hear soon and will take care of you.Bye and get well soon captain''said Ananya and got up from the bed leaving the room without looking back .Once Ananya left the room Akash let the tears flow as he punched his hand hard on the bed.

''I am sorry Ananya.I am extremely sorry .But i don't have any other choice.I hope one day you can forgive me''said Akash in a pained voice.

***************************************************************************As Ananya came out of the room she sat on a chair and tried to compose herself as she didn't want Rohit and Meera to know anything happened between them now.After few seconds she composed herself and wiped her eyes .Just then she saw Meera and Rohit coming towards her and she was glad she composed herself in the correct time.

''How is he?''asked Rohit and Ananya explained his condition and Rohit nodded.

''But guys i have to go home ASAP.can you arrange me a train or flight if possible''asked Ananya looking Rohit.

''But Ananya why do you want to leave all of sudded.Is everything alright?''asked Rohit as Meera narrowed her eyes thinking what Akash did now.

''Yea everything is fine.But nanaji is not feeling well.so chachi wants me to come if possible''said Ananya with a smile but both of them could say she was not telling the truth by they didn't want to force the truth out of her.

''Ok Ananya i will check for the available flights and i will drop you at the airport''said Rohit and left to made the necessary calls leaving the girl in privacy.As Rohit left Meera hugged her which Ananya returned with a smile .After few seconds Meera broke the hug.

''How are you?''asked Meera and Ananya smiled at her friends concern.

''I am Meera.But i really need to go home.I am sorry i am leaving you to take care of Akash but i can stay here anymore Meera''said Ananya taking Meera's hand in hers.

''Ananya you just go home and have some rest .you don't have to explain anything to me Ananya .I can understand what you are going through.And you don't have to worry about Akash as much as i hate him .My love for you is greater than my hate for him so i will take care of him.''said Meera and Ananya smiled at her friend .

''Thanks Meera''said Ananya with a smile .Just then Rohit came back .

''Ananya there is a flight in 1 hour.If we leave now we can reach in time.''said Rohit and Ananya nodded.

''Ok Meera i will leave now''said Ananya and hugged her freind.

''Ananya once you reach home inform us ok.''asked Meera with a smile and Ananya nodded .Then she left with Rohit as Meera went inside Akash room.

Ananya was sitting in the passenger seat while Rohit was driving the car.There was a complete silence in the car as Ananya rested her head on the window closing her eyes.Rohit too didn't want to disturb her as he know something is going on between his best friend and Akash ,but he know when Ananya wants to share this with him she will so he didn't ask her anything.After few seconds they pulled into the airport and they got out of the car.Once they finished the security check Rohit pulled her into a hug and kissed her forehead.

''Have a safe journey and call me once you reach there''said Rohit with a smile .

''Ok my overprotective friend come brother.I will .But you too take care of yourelf and Meera.''said Ananya and heard the announcement for her flight.

''Ok now i will leave bye''said Ananya and left with a smile.Rohit watched his friend walk away and smiled a little and left to hospital.

Ananya reached her house after few hours and immediately went to her room to have a shower and informed everyone that Akash is not feeling well .After few minutes shefali prepared her coffee and she came and sat on the balcony looking at the sky.

PRESENT:

Ananya came out of her memories when she felt a hand on her shoulder.She looked up and to find her lovely cousin Shefali standing there.

''Shefu what are you doing here ?You must be sleeping now''said Ananya and shefali sat beside her on another bean bag.

''Di are you alright?''asked Shefali and Ananya nodded.

''I am really fine shefu.Its just that i am worried for Akash''said Ananya and shefali nodded in understanding.

''Don't worry di .Akash bhai will be alright.But you must take rest now''said shefali with concern.

''I will shefu.But before that i have to check a mail .Now you go and sleep .I will sleep soon.I promise''said Ananya with a smile.

''Ok di but sleep soon''said Shefali with a smile and left Ananya alone .Ananya went to her cupboard taking her tablet out .Then sge came and sat on the bed loggin her email and checked for a mail which she received last month.Its was a mail from her friend who was a captain in the british airline and asked if she could join as a piolet .But she refused as she didn't want to leave her family and Akash,but now she really want to leave India and stay away from Akash.And this job will be a good distraction.She immediately copied the contact number in her mobile and saved it and though of callin his friend tomorrow after talking with Rohit .But before that she know she has to visit someone before taking any decision so she placed her mobile and Tab on the table beside the bed and lay down on the bed covering herself with the blanket drifting into a dreamless sleep and visting the person was the last though before she slept.
