Mother-in-law and Ganga have a heart to heart about the importance of marriage.
Vedika in Mahants arms in the dark. Mahant pushes her away calling her to stop her madness. Vedika wants Mahant to sleep with her. She touches him and pushes him over onto the bed. He slaps her telling her that only Ganga has a right over him. Vedika is pleased that at least he touched her and she fears nobody and wants the family to find out. Ganga enters and Mahant leaves.
Ganga and Vedika challenge each other that they will keep Mahant and not let the other take him.
