NOT EVEN "ONE" DREAM of SHEKHAR, Laali?
It appears, the curtain of darkness that is separating Laali's new life from her old one is pretty thick.
So thick, that for seven years, even Shekhar's love has not been able to penetrate it. Nor her child's cries.
Is Laali's mind so numb that not even a wisp of memory comes to her, either in dream or in everyday smells, sounds and words.
Doesn't her heart sometimes yearn for that something unknown that seems just out of reach and which she can't get hold of.
Can't she sometimes see her beloved's eyes in that darkness shining with so much love?
Can't she hear her lover's voice whispering to her … "hum tum se parem kartein hai".
Can't she hear him calling her as if from a distance …. "Laaa-a-a-a-a-a l-e-e-e!!!"
Doesn't her heart sometimes feel that it is wanting to reunite with someone?
Doesn't she sometimes want to cry because her memories are haunting her?
Doesn't she want to sob with utter frustration because she cannot remember?
(This is where sometimes I wish the movie was made by westerners. They would have done such a wonderful job of it.)
