Shekhar or Laali have not crossed any boundaries.. their relationship is one made by the situations that have been brought forth.. it's not as if Shekhar decided to have an extra marital affair.. or Laali left her husband to be with shekhar.. they are where they are due to certain circumstances..

as per the show and what they're tryin to portray.. selling and buying a human being is not illegal.. so Shekhar and Laali's relationship being "illegal" seems to be out of question

Well Said👏
if shekhar and laali fall in love with each other den i will actually not blame dem😳bcoz de are in love😛 😆and how can falling in love be illegal ??If 2 ppl are made for each other den de will be together no matter waht at dese point of time both shekhar and laali are married to different ppl but who can give gurantee dat dere life partners are dere soulmates 😛😛If destiny has some other plan no1 of can do nething
i toh full 2 think dat shekhar-laali are made for each other and i will always love dem dat definately doesnot makes me bad nor m i supporting an illlegal relationship

Zaara and Sillykitty,

With due respect to you, I feel the way you have described this serial and indirectly insulted the viewership which is we the viewers is perhaps not fair.
It is good to share ones perspective which you are free to. But to say that AJJMBHK is against Indian culture and is amoral is taking it too far.
We viewers have chosen to watch it or not watch it for our own reasons. And no one here needs to be apologetic for watching it.
Thanks for understanding us.

Talking about Illegal relationships, I would like to mention some shows which have the lead pair share an Illegitimate relationship initially,
Like we had a show called Mamta on Zee where the male lead was married to someone else and his relationship flourished with the female lead even though he had a wife
Even in a show Ek ladki Anjani Si on Sony, the male lead was already married to someone else
The thing in common between Agle Janam .... and the above shows is not the wives of the male lead bear shades of grey,( in AJMBHK Siddheshwari has not yet turned negative and she really loves Shekhar)
The thing is that marriage can build Love or foster it but cannot build Understanding and matching of minds and connection of hearts,
Shekhar and Laali think and feel alike,
Both have suffered wrongs at the hands of people from whom they least expected it,
And to top it, Loha Singh,(or Should I say Destiny ? ? ) is trying the best possible ways to get them close
In such conditions, if Siddheshwari does not try to make an effort, Shekhar is bound to fall for Laali,
Since Shekhar is a really emotional person and thinks that the physical relationship is not just a task but a sign of sheer Infidelity,
If his heart connects with Laali even if she does not do anything, he may fall for her
In India we're taught to continue a relationship as long as possible even though it does not work out, which leads to unnecessary domestic misunderstandings
This may be socially wrong but I think it is correct to live with someone who can understand you the best
What do you say guys????

It doesn't make sense being disallowed to watch it on TV when u are still permitted to go onto the internet where you can still look at the show.

Oye Hoye Nikki Lovely Post :)
I completely Agree wid u
Ajmbhk is different frm other shows bcoz here da leads are forced to hv illegal relation de are not doin nething willingly siddheswari who is shekhar's wife hv no problem if shekhar sleeps wid laali so in future if shekhar falls in love wid laali den can we blame him?
laali was sold she was betrayed by her own parents wen she came to da haveli shekhar who is juz a stranger to her helped her to escape frm da haveli and lied to his own dad juz to save her and he even tried to kill himself for laali a stranger did so much for her and her own parents hv only given her pain so in future if she falls for shekhar den can we blame her ??😊
The show is not promoting illegal relationship dese thing do happen in rural areas of india and da show juz potrays dat it shows da truth and bhai sach toh hamesha hi kadwa hota hain
i don hv ne problem wid da show i enjoy watching it along wid my family

I don't think till date the show has promoted an illegal relationship between Shekhar and Lali. If anything the show has been driving down the point of how tragic it is that human beings are treated as less than and considered properties to own and use. Every episode has made the idea of buying a woman and forcing a man to sleep with her to beget an heir as repulsive and inhumane. They have done every possible thing to maintain the sactity of marriage of both Lali and Shekhar. Even if Shekhar's wife may not think on the same mental wavelenght as him, does not mean that she doesn't love him or deserves to be have an infidel husband. Shekhar loves his wife and has loved her for long before Lali ever came into the picture. So to say that now that Lali comes with a little more understanding about Shekhar's character and his emotions, he should or would fall for her and that would sactify his union with Lali in the physical relm is wrong. The traditional view of marriage does not dictate that if your wife fails to understand you then you can leave her and be with another woman. In all scriptures (of any religion) marriage is an unbreakable bond. Now if you are not that religious its a different issue. You can choose your moral grounds elsewhere. But if you are one who believes in the institution of marriage then you must also fight to maintain it no matter how difficult it gets, sometimes even when one partner is not willing to work on it. Which is what Shekhar is doing.

On the other hand Lali may not have lived with Ganesiya. but to her he was always her husband. The man she loved to the extent of worship, just because he married her. Tho she didn't know what he looks like. Those are the emotions that keep a marriage alive in extreme hardships. When partners are dedicated to each other, whether they are present in their lives or not.

But in Lali's case, she has given up her husband to her sister. So she holds no hope for him. SHe had killed all her desires and dreams and is flowing like a leaf with the wind. Shekhar on the other hand still has to fight "Destiny". He refuses to succumb to the evil that he knows will be commited by consumating with a woman who is forced, and made vulnerable enough that she had no where else to go but to come back and be at his feet. The idea is so repulsive, which is exactly as it should be. The show is not at all promoting illegal relationships thus far.

Things could get complicated for Shekhar and Lali from here on, and everything that has been black and white so far will be turned to grey. So i don't know how i'll feel about the show if or when Shekhar admits Lali into his life on any level. Lets c.

I compleately agree with -JC-
what shown here is not promotion of illegitimate (I would like to request, Please people stop using the word illegal and use illegitimate instead since an extra marital affair is socially wrong or illegitimate, not illegal)
Continuing this, I will restate that what shown here is not promotion of illegitimate relationships, whether forceful or concensual, but it shows us how Shekhar and Laali are fighting against destiny and not just going with the flow, to do what they think is RIGHT....
Even this thing is quite evident many a times that only circumstances make a particular job or situation happen, It can be a Murder, Robbery or as in this case, a relationship between Shekhar and Laali....
Earlier we were shown the sheer strength with which Laali fought against the world to do what she thought was RIGHT and at the end she gave up to do what she thinks now is RIGHT, which is saving Shekhar's life, even if it involves ruining of her life and loss of her chasity
But now we're even seeing the struggle which Shekhar is putting forward to do what is RIGHT, that is, not to be infidle to his wife or get an heir by unfair means. Shekhar, too, has put forward stiff resistance against his father's wrongs and has done his best to prevent or amend them even though he had failed many times
But the circumstances are getting them them closer with the consent of everybody involved and even if they enter into a physical relationship, it can never force Shekhar to stop thinking about Siddheshwari and start thinking about Laali
Only when he will face an ignorant response from Siddheshwari when he is discussing the seriousness of the topic,
and when it will get into his mind that nobody cares a bit for him,and Laali is the only one who can understand him,
Then he might start feeling for her........

I read some brillant replies in this thread. All I am going to say is this: "this show portrays illegal relationships."
The show is not advertising but depicting the reality in India. I am not saying Yeh Rishta and Pavitra RIshta are not good shows but at the end of the day they are soaps which entertain. Agle Janam has a strong social message which has already impacted its viewers. For example Kiran Bedi was on the radio with "Laali" (aka Ratan) talking about selling children. If children are given the opportunity to have a fine education and to build for a future then many of them wouldn't turn out to be mistresses, like Laali, or prostitutes.
However yes I do think for some this show is too much to take on board as it is one of its kind. I think Zee has done a fantastic job with shows like Agle Janam and Aapki Antara.
Lastly Zaara, I thank you for being brave and expressing your opinions knowing many members won't agree with you. It takes a lot of guts to do it and you have dine it in a fine manner.😊
