Thing is Kekta & Balaji had a monopoly up till recently. Them, together with Star, ruled the market.

Recently there's been an influx of new channels - 9X, NDTV, Sahara etc etc all looking to make their mark. And they are doing well! They have to make different programmes to set them apart from the usual stuff you can find on Star..and I think I read somewhere that NDTV has beaten Star in ratings recently, which just goes to show now that people have a choice, they are turning away from Balaji serials.

Ksh, can you find that article? It was a recent thing, last couple of months max.....

I don't think there is long to go before Balaji tumbles right down.They are getting desparate to grab TRPs..and introducing the most bizarre storylines - which are turning people right off.
