Hi everyone!

So prom is comming up for us in my school, and i know this guy that likes me and 2 other possibilities, and i am worried that they will ask me. I am worried because i don't feel the same way about the 2 possibilities, and with the 1 that i am sure likes me, i do like but only as a friend, nothing more.

So i was wondering, can you guys help me out in trying to come up with a few polite excuses to decline their offer? Something that will not make them hate me, but clearly give them the message that i am not interested?

I just don't wan't them or any one else to think that i am a horrible person for declining offers, nor do i wan't the guy that i like to look at me as if i did something horrible just because i turned down his friend.
Especially since this is our senior year, i don't wan't to graduate with my fellow class mates angry with me.

Please help😳

I can understand, Aditi, but you don't always have to like them in a way to go for Prom with them.

I mean in my highschool friends went together too, they didn't have to be boyfriend/girlfriend.

But if you don't want to go out with them, then I want to ask you is there someone you want to go out with? Or you just want to go as a group with friends?

If you want to go with someone, then I suggest ask him. So then the other guys would know that you're already going with that guy and they won't bother asking.

If you just want to go with friends then let them know too. Just say that you're going with friends as a group in front of them so they don't ask you. Start saying that before time so they won't ask you.

And if it does come out to them asking you, I would say just be frank and polite and say that you have other plans. If you try to be too polite and take your time, then they would be more hurt because then they might start getting their hopes high.

Whenever you plan on declining anything, start with "I'd love to..."

If he comes up to you and asks you " Hey would you like to be my date for prom?". And you can respond " Oh i wud love to BUT this prom im planning to not have any dates and just go all together with friends, Hey why dont you join me with my buds? It'll be cool, all FRIENDS going together to prom"
lol yeah very cheesy, but thats wht came up to my mind =P But you can only use this if you dont take a date, and if you are planning to have a date then..
"Oh damn! Your too late, Im already someone's elses date."
If you want you can add the line " you snooze, you lose" and give a winky face =P lol
and if you didnt choose a date yet and will get a date later then
"Oh damn! Im actually going with someone else! You shud've asked me earlier".
This one is kinda similar to the one above it....
Hope so these cheesy lines will help you =P
