In the court, KD Pathak explains that Atul Pranjpay possessing the art of controlling the snakes.

However the significance of their presence is not explained properly.

This leaves us to our own imagination - May be the snakes were used as a distraction and in a way to terrorize Varun.

Imagine, a person stranded with 20-30 snakes in a room. He is bound to loose his sense of mind in fear. The surprising fact is that the snakes somehow did not bite him.

There was really no logic behind anything. Not just the snakes, but, for example, the plastic surgery of a dead body and what not. 😆
