It was with this role that Vishal's foray into television began, and it was director Anand Mahendroo who gave him his first break. Ever since, then there has been no looking back for this versatile actor.
He went on to act in serials like Dil Hai Ki Maanta Nahi, Bhabhi, Dekho Magar Pyaar Se, Kashmir, Astitva– Ek Prem Kahaani among many others. On his platter now is the serial Aathwa Vachan. "I play the role of Aadesh in the serial and the character comes across as a chivalrous person. This is my third project with the production house and I simply love working with them. They have always come up with interesting projects and I feel fortunate to be a part of all of them," says Vishal.
Vishal says that for him it is the "script and the story progression that is important. I also see to it that the character that I play is interesting — I need to feel excited. I am particular about the crew on the sets — all of us have to work together and it is important that we get along."
Vishal also believes in taking up one project at a time so as not to exert himself. "It very essential to find time for your self. The television industry has grown in the past few years. There is a lot of glamour now which wasn't the case when I began my career," he says.
Vishal observes that, "Reality shows are very important these days. Television needs a balance of various genres — reality show is one format which has worked well."
What does Vishal hope for the future? "I am interested in getting into direction. I want to direct an action-emotion based commercial film. Though, there's nothing on the cards as of now, but I hope to do so in the future," says Vishal.
