Well I wasn' thinking of AK in particular when I said emotional connect. 😆 No and Keifer is the original and the best. But people Like Trisha Rathod and even Kiran were a bit better I thought. Just an opinion.

I actually thought Kiran looked a bit older and a bit mature than Kim.. Kim was the quintessential teenager. Kim looked younger and acted way just like a teen. But, that was because I think they showed more scenes with Kim and those guys before they were taken hostage.

Trisha job well done as a mom.. I hope they don't kill her off like in the original. I hated that...

Ya Trisha is one reason I watch. If she goes... then it will be a tragedy for the show.

No way Indian verison of 24 is better then the original.
If US version was so bad then where would Anil Kapoor get inspiration from to make this show.

Jack Bauer aka Keifer Sutherland is the best character, he does make you feel bad for him in later seasons.

The difference is Hollywood's emotional quotient is subtle, while the Indian is over emotional.

24 should have been the standalone show in india instead copying the same storyline. Saying that its better than Original is an Insult to the original show. The Character turmoil, character arc, character development...is far superior in the original show. Jack Bauer as a interrogator, drug addict, killer of his own squad, sacrificer, Sutherland is far superior in acting wise than Anil Kapoor. People are going to take offense to that, i don't care becuz i took offense to this. 24 (Original) is far superior than every show ever put on Indian television combined. There is no comparison.

Given that a fact

Anil Kapoor has talent. He has rigid personality. If there is anyone who has the guts to take on a character like this its him, Pukar (Film) is a testament to that. I just don't want them to lose focus and make it this show into a soap opera. Anil Kapoor and Mandira Bedi give hope to this show. I am a HUGE fan of the Original Series. All i can hope they do justice to this Genius show.

👏👏👏 Couldn't agree with you more!!!!! The Indian version has got off to an amazing start & I am looking forward to next week. However, I'm glad they have stuck to the original storyline...given a chance to unleash their 'creativity' we may have seen JSR dancing around trees with Nikita Rai

That said, in my eyes it is no where close to the original US version! You've hit the nail on the head with the lines I have highlighted above.

Keifer's Jack Bauer was cold, ruthless, almost inhuman as an interrogator, but yet very vulnerable in the moments when you see him being torn between his duty & family. The dead tone of his voiceover (when introduces each hour) and specially the way he says "I'm Federal agent Jack Baur & this is the longest day of my life" chills you to the bone

In my opinion, Anil Kapoor's Jai Singh Rathod is too emotional for Jack. Anil Kapoor acts well, but needs to keep his expressive face & eyes in check

The turmoil within him, his obsession with his duty, his inability to put anything ahead of his work...that is Jack Bauer. Hope in time to come, JSR will be able to do justice to the epic role.

As far as the other charcaters are concerned, they have failed to make the impact I wanted. Mandira Bedi as Nina Myers will be ok I feel. But Tej as Tony Almeida is unimpressive, Gill as George Mason is a thumbs down...Mason was an arrogant ass, but not antagonistic like Gill seems to be...and what pains me most is Aditya Singhania...the actor is good, but the characterization pains me. Whenever we have any political figure, we just cannot look beyond Gandhis. Aditya, Naina & Divya are obvious images of Rahul, Sonia & Priyanka Gandhi.

Sherry & David Palmer were a force to reckon with in 24...I cant see that potential here in Singhanias.

Maybe I am too critical...maybe I should give them time...maybe...
But since they are playing around with my all-time favorite show, I am skeptical & also, somewhere determined to be disappointed😆

@ bold -well said and thats exactly what my fear is that this show may turn up into too much drama and then the originality of the show is burried under some unnecessary family drama.

@ Red - Yes Sutherland did a great justice to Jack's role but AK too is showing his colors. Its too early to compare AK to Sutherland though.
