Hey Guys ,

I wont call myself silent member of this forum , caz i hardly comes to this forum ... i been wattching this show since it started and kinda like it though even after having some loophole scenes ... the story went aheam aheam with vickeys entry .........................

HOnestly why blame simi here ?? welll audience loves to see a female lead role whose main agenda in life is to try and be overly sacrifising ..... i kinda understand simi but at times she proves wat i can bet anout her , that she is a confused soul ....

Personally i think at times simi tries to stand for her love for abhi but poor gal c an never make it the only time she made me proud was when she tellls RS about her lo

I dont rem a show where a main lead ever been strong or used her head , its like ppl would never accept for some one being more o f human then saint ...can i say give us a break and ask us wat we need to see ..

Simi herself is responsible for being SIMI ....if she has to change it has to be by herself and not by some one .........may be all her life being elder sister of the house she was taught being sacrifising ....and being taunted with being fat and etc one looses believe in one self in most cases nd just listens to other like living being played on their tunes ... simi she did try to stand for her love with anitha and her hubby...but neetu she couldnt its like it s easy to fight with whole world as its easy but fighting with family needs strength .................. not justifying simi but cant resist making this post ...................

Love your post....totally agree...

There are two things....Firstly as you mentioned....The audience (a major portion) is still not ready see the lead protagnist standing for herself and fighting against her own family. They would rather prefer her to sacrifice her love, happiness and life for the sake of others (who apparently happen to a family).....After all its a TV drama....

Secondly. Simmi has been grown that way....it has been set in her mind that she is the eldest of all and it is her responsibility to take care of her siblings, no matter even if it is at the cost of her own happiness....it would take a lot of courage and strength for her to stand up and say her heart out...moreover with the given fact that she is relatively fat and aging and loving someone younger to her, she is left with no choices from the society....No one would tolerate anyone to say bad about his/her family....Obviously we all want her to ask her mom to not to force her for Nakul's rishta. But because of the life she has lived so far, her mind is too much occupied with her family reputation and brother-sister's happiness....

Now its Abhi's Love that needs to teach her that life is always not about living for other...that its not about sacrificing one's own happiness for others's sake and at times it is important to stand for oneself. But this is going to take a little more time. It's not been very long that they have got into a relationship and it is yet not fully developed. Yes, they have just accepted that they love each other but they are yet to experience each other in day to day life. I mean, with the present circumstances only, Abhi will come to know that to what extent Simmi can go for the sake of her family and Similarly Simmi will come to know that Abhi might look kidish but is not and is very dedicated and determined towards his love and perfectly knows what he wants from his life.

Sounds like the consensus to support the concept of the self-sacrificing girl hence the popularity of these shows. I think you and I come from different value systems hence the reason excuses are sought for Simi's actions as "confused" and "abuse issues from her childhood." Unfortunately, having worked for over 15 years with real abuse victims, Simi Seethi's life is very serene, warm and comforting. Had some of the people I know had an RS, Mili or Abhi in their lives, it would have served them well.
A woman who takes a stand doesn't always succeed either, but her struggles against a society that holds her back and her passion in that fight is what is important. The writers and directors would rather throw up the same stuff form other dramas and shove it down the audiences throats who hunger for this melodrama.
I don't know if I can call any of Simi's behavior as confused; but simply self-centered and self-absored. She doesn't even appreciate any of the help that is given to her. She's so ungrateful to Abhi that it is sickening to even watch this show.
I have seen real sacrifices where a child prostitutes herself to feed her family, or worse. Despite these adversities, I see fighters among these kids. I don't see anything coming from Simi except the same old rhona dona.
What's it going to take for Simi? Could you please tell me what's it going to take for a 30 year old woman with a supportive father and sister and a boyfriend who will fight tooth and nail for her and a mother-in-law ready to except her as a daughter for to grow a spine.
I would really like to know because right now it's NOTHING, NADA, ZILCH.
And guys, if you are a Simi supporter, do me a favor and do not, I repeat do not click "like" to this post.

But you found multiple excuses to explain her willingess to mistreat Abhi and have him endure so much for her. You found multiple execuses why should could not tell him a) she didn't want to marry Nukul and b) could he help her out of the mess? She was supposed to be "married" to him but she was willing to commit bigamy (marry another person while being married) to pleaes her mother. That's disgusting. Simi herself stopped her father from telling Nukul's family time and time again - even before the family showed up for hand in marriage. Any normal girl would have gone with her father to make sure that the family never tried to marry her again. But then again, this is the same girl who was not even happy to get a marriage proposal from Abhi in the first place. He had to ask her to smile when she gave him the ring.
When Neetu refused to marry, why did Simi suddenly jump at the chance of marrying Nukul? If Neetu was not willing to take responsiblity, then why was it Simi's job? Simi allows herself to be the victim time and time again. She has so much support but she has this obsession that if she goes out of her way to please her mother, even sleeping with another man via marriage, her mother will like her. Simi really needs to be in therapy; her problems are not virtuous but a result of low self-worth. Unfortunately, this low-self worth would not attract any guy, even one like Abhi. It does not even appeal to myself as a female.
If Simi had said "No" I am not going through this wedding and her mother and her had had a massive fight about it or Neetu had actually begged her to go with her, I would have actually thought, OK, she is caught in a bind, but there was no bind. To write these scenes would have required work from the writers but it would have shown the protangonist (Simi) try to fight against the barriers put in front of her which we have never seen happen. You would have had at least though we would have seen them after Abhi and RS had talked to her and after her sudden confrontation defending Abhi as "ghar ka damad" with Anita and Anuj. No consistency here.

The worst things we can do in life is make excuses for things that are blantantly wrong and nonsensical.
