Chapter 46

"Roli.." roli turned her head when she heard Sid's shout. 

She found Sid rushing towards her amongst all those vehicles. She wondered what happened to him. 

Before she could figure out anything else, Sid had already reached her and dashed over to a little distance away from where she was standing, pulling her along with him. 

Roli got startled at the sudden action and gasped in shock. 

And the bike which was about to hit roli, drove away in maximum speed before Sid could caught a glimpse of the driver. 

"What the hell you were doing in the middle of the road. I told you to stand at side, right?" Sid yelled at roli, making her jerked. 

Roli was already in shock with whatever had just happened. Moreover Sid's yelling, caused her to shiver a little. She was just watching the surroundings and didn't realize how she walked into the middle of the road. 

She tried to speak but, nothing came out as she looked at the deadly glare of Sid. She remained shut. 

"How many times I should tell you to be careful?" Sid continued to scold her. Though his voice sounded rude, it contained undying concern for her. 

Roli looked at the surroundings as a few bystanders watching them. Sid realized they were still on the road and stopped shouting at her. 

Then without saying a word more, Sid held roli's hand and walked away from the place. 

After entering the room in resort, Sid sat at the edge of the bed and held his head in his palms. 

Roli stood at a few feet away as she watched him. She was a bit scared to talk to him at the moment. 

Sid sat in silence for a few moments as he tried to calm down himself. He almost lost his life at the moment he saw the bike rushing towards roli. His heart was yet to return to its normal rate of beating. 

A few minutes passed in silence. And finally, summing up her courage, Roli spoke in a low voice "I'm sorry". 

Sid raised his head and seemed like calmed down a bit. 

"I'm sorry. I won't repeat this. Pakka" roli said, guiltily. She could understand what might had happened if Sid hadn't reached her in time. 

Sid sighed and got up from the bed. He walked up to her and stood before her. 

"You didn't get hurt, right?" Sid cupped her right cheek with his left hand and asked in a gentle tone. 

Roli felt relieved to see him calm. She really wouldn't like to see him in anger. She then shook her head. 

As she nodded, Sid's hand slided back to her head from her cheek as he pulled her in to his arms, wrapping his right hand around her waist. 

With his strong arms circling around her protectively, roli felt a sense of security gushing over her as she wrapped her arms around his waist and snuggled in to his chest. 

"Don't be so careless again" Sid scolded her softly. 

Only after having roli in his arms did his heart was at ease. He finally felt relieved and took a relaxed breath. 

"You didn't bring sugar candy" roli complained being in his arms. 

"How can you still think of such silly things?" Sid was speechless. 

She could have got hit by the bike if he was a second late to reach her. And she was still thinking about the damned sugar candy. Could she be anymore careless? he wondered. 

"Because I love it" roli said, cuddling more to his chest. Sid too hugged her tightly, reluctant to let her go.

"Told you to do a small thing. You couldn't even do that" a girl spoke through phone. 

"I tried but, that guy jumped in out of nowhere. I couldn't do anything else as people crowded at that place so, I just left from there" a guy replied from the other side. 

The girl gritted her teeth in anger and didn't respond. 

"I'll try again if I get a chance" the guy spoke after a few seconds. 

"No. I'll tell you what to do next. Until then don't do anything stupid" she quickly said. 

"And listen, did they see you?" She asked, anxiously. 

"I don't think so. I was wearing helmet too" he answered.  

"Fine. Wait until I tell you what to do next" she said and hung up the call. 

Keeping her phone aside, she stared at the empty place before her with burning eyes. 

"How lucky you're, roli? Sid will always be there for you to save you. And me, I only get to suffer for his love. But, no. Not anymore. I'll do everything to separate you both. No matter what it costs" she said, determined.

After having dinner at night, the whole gang was gathered at a pool side in the resort and chit-chatting. 

"You both missed so much fun in beach" ruchi said, looking at RoSid. 

"Even they had fun, right sid?" Arun said, winking at sid. 

Sid rolled his eyes, knowing what he meant. 

"Why your brain always revolve around such thoughts?" Ritika hit arun on his shoulder. 

"My brain got trained from sid. You can't blame me for this. I'm innocent" arun said with a pout. 

"Look who's talking about innocence" sid looked at arun in disdain. 

"A while ago he was flirting with almost all the girls in the beach. And playing innocent now" nitesh said, rolling his eyes. 

"And not to forget what he watches in the middle of the nights" sid added.  

"Shall we change the topic, please" after getting taste of his own medicine of teasings, arun literally begged. 

"Sameer is here" roli found sameer at the entrance. All looked at the direction where roli was looking at. 

Roli walked over to him and said excitedly "are you too staying here?". 

Sameer was surprised to see roli. "yeah. Won't you allow me?" He joked. 

At a little distance away from them, sid and his gang were watching them. 

"Who's he?" Nitesh asked. They didn't know sameer yet, except sid. 

"Happened to be roli's friend" sid said, uninterestingly. 

Roli brought sameer to the gang and introduced them to each other. 

"I forgot to ask. How's my papa? When he's gonna come here?" Roli asked turning to sameer. 

"He's fine. May be he'll coming back very soon" sameer answered. 

"Now even papa is shifting back to india. Are you too coming back or still want to stay in US?" Roli asked like an elder. 

Sameer fell silent at her question. He didn't know what to say as he himself wasn't sure. He then simply replied "will see". 

"May I know since how long you both are friends?" Arun interrupted. 

"Since the day she was born" sameer answered while roli nodded with a smile. 

"It means almost 21 years!" Arun said, exasperatingly. He purposely stressed last two words, glancing at sid. 

Sid, who was standing in silence, stared at arun coldly. He knew arun was doing it intentionally to raise his blood pressure. Giving a deadly glare at arun, sid left from that place. 

"Have you had dinner?" Roli asked sameer. 

"Yeah. I had with clients. And you?" Sameer replied for which roli nodded as 'yes'. 

At the time sameer got a phone call. After hanging up the call, he looked at roli and said "I got to send some mails now. Will talk to you tomorrow". 

Then sameer wished good night to roli and left to his room. 

"Where is sid?" After sameer left, roli turned to Sid's side, only to find him missing. 

"He went back to room" arun answered. 

Roli wondered why sid left without waiting for her. Not so later everybody dispersed and went to their respective rooms. 

When roli entered the room, she found sid sleeping. 

"Already slept" roli mumbled as she got on bed. 

She felt it strange as sid would never leave her out alone. 

Sid was sleeping facing his back at her. Actually, he wasn't sleeping but, just pretending. 

Roli moved near him and shook him a little. He didn't show any movement.  

Placing her chin on his shoulder, she asked "are you really sleeping?". 

Sid, though heard her, didn't respond and continued to pretend to be asleep. 

"Won't you give patting today?" Roli asked like a kid. 

Sid's heart softened at her childish act. He smiled inside but, still didn't show any reaction. 

"Go.. cutty" as he wasn't responding, roli raised up from his shoulder and tried to move away. 

Suddenly sid stretched out his left arm and pulled her back to him. He turned to her side, pulled her and turned again, making her roll over him. 

By the time roli had realized what happened, she was already in his arms. She looked at his face with a stunned expression. 

Sid's eyes were still closed and looked like he was sleeping. 

"You're not sleeping, right?" It finally dawned to roli that he was just putting on an act. 

Sid lazily opened his eyes to meet with hers. 

"Why you didn't wait for me to come?" Roli questioned, hitting on his chest. 

"You were busy with your friend" sid replied in a mocking way. 

"I met him after one year. So, I've a lot to talk to him" roli said, simply. She failed to notice the fire in Sid's eyes when she said it. 

"Sleep now" sid pulled her to chest, shutting her mouth. From the moment she saw sameer that morning, she kept on saying about him and what they used to do in mumbai. 

Sid had enough of hearing their friendship story. He didn't know why he couldn't take when roli talked about other guy. Though he kept thinking about these all, he didn't forget to pat roli to make her sleep.
