SYDNEY

Weeks passed.

Sameer slowly settled into his work. Under Jayprakash's guidance, he surprised everyone by confidently handling clients. Even Gadkari admitted that Sameer had changed.

One evening, Jayprakash entered Sameer's cabin.

Jayprakash: I'm proud of you. I never imagined you would finish such a difficult project before the deadline.

Sameer: To be honest, I never imagined it either.

Both laughed.

Meanwhile, Naina continued meeting Sameer occasionally with Anand's permission.

One evening, they were walking along Sydney Harbor.

Sameer looked unusually quiet.

Naina: What happened? Today you're not making silly jokes.

Sameer: I'm thinking.

Naina: That's dangerous.

Both laughed.

Sameer: Remember you once said that I would fall in love one day?

Naina: Yes.

Sameer: I still don't believe in love.

Naina smiled knowingly.

Naina: That's okay.

She changed the topic.

A few days later...

Sharad unexpectedly arrived in Sydney.

Naina was delighted.

They met Anand.

But Sharad noticed how naturally Sameer and Naina talked to each other.

Jealousy slowly crept into his mind.

That evening he confronted Naina.

Sharad: Have you become very close to Sameer?

Naina: He is only my friend.

Sharad: I don't like it.

Naina: Friendship doesn't become wrong because someone dislikes it.

Sharad remained silent.

The next day...

Sameer invited both of them to lunch.

Throughout the lunch, he deliberately praised Sharad.

Sameer: Naina is lucky to have someone who cares so much for her.

Sharad looked surprised.

After lunch, Sameer walked away.

Sharad stopped him.

Sharad: I misunderstood you.

Sameer: It happens.

Sharad: Sorry.

Sameer smiled.

Sameer: Friends?

Sharad extended his hand.

They shook hands.

Naina smiled happily.

That night...

Sameer sat alone on the terrace of Jayprakash's house.

He looked at the photographs he had secretly clicked of Naina during their outings.

He smiled.

Then he quietly placed them back inside the drawer.

Sameer (to himself):
"Maybe this is what Ratan meant...
Love isn't about possessing someone.
Sometimes loving someone means wishing for their happiness."

He looked up at the stars.

Mumbai

Ratan continued working with Omkara.

His paintings became famous.

One day, Diya received a phone call from her lawyer.

Lawyer: Congratulations. We have reopened your custody case.

Diya couldn't believe it.

Diya: Really?

Lawyer: Yes. We have fresh evidence proving that Abhay manipulated the previous case.

Diya became emotional.

She immediately called Ratan.

Diya: You kept your promise.

Ratan: I only did what a friend should do.

Months later...

The court finally gave Diya shared custody of Amaya.

For the first time in years...

Mother and daughter hugged each other.

Ratan watched from a distance with tears of happiness.

Diya walked towards him.

Diya: I can never repay what you've done.

Ratan: Seeing you smile is enough.

She held his hand.

Diya: You once painted my portrait.

Ratan: Yes.

Diya: Today... I want to spend my life with the artist who painted it.

Ratan stood speechless.

His eyes filled with tears.

He nodded silently.

Their families happily blessed them.

A few months later...

Ratan and Diya got married in a simple but beautiful ceremony.

Amaya happily stood beside them.

Mumbai

Munna continued meeting Swati.

Unlike his earlier relationships...

He never flirted with anyone else.

One evening...

They sat on Marine Drive.

Munna: You know something?

Swati: What?

Munna: Earlier I used to fall in love every month.

Swati laughed.

Munna: But now...

I waited months before saying these words.

I love you.

Swati smiled.

Swati: I was waiting for you to say that.

She held his hand.

Both families happily agreed to their marriage.

Six Months Later

Sameer returned to India.

The three friends met again after a long time.

Munna hugged Sameer tightly.

Ratan joined them.

For a few seconds...

None of them spoke.

Their friendship had survived distance, misunderstandings and changing lives.

Munna looked at Sameer.

Munna: So...

Did you finally fall in love?

Sameer smiled.

Sameer: No.

Both looked at him suspiciously.

Sameer removed his wallet.

Inside it was one candid photograph...

...of Naina smiling without knowing she was being photographed.

Munna and Ratan burst into laughter.

Munna: You're finished!

Ratan: Mr. Love Doesn't Exist!

Sameer laughed.

Sameer: Fine...

Maybe I was wrong.

Maybe love happens when you're busy proving it doesn't.

Just then...

Naina arrived with Anand and Sharad.

Sharad smiled warmly at Sameer.

They all greeted each other.

Naina looked at Sameer.

Naina: So, Mr. Maheshwari...

Do you still think love stories are boring?

Sameer smiled.

Sameer: Not anymore.

The Harbor Bridge – Evening

Sameer called Naina.

Sameer: Can you meet me? It's important.

Naina reached Sydney Harbor just before sunset.

The cool breeze blew across the water.

Naina: You sounded serious.

Sameer looked nervous.

For the first time in his life...

...he couldn't find the right words.

Naina smiled.

Naina: Mr. Maheshwari is speechless?

Sameer laughed nervously.

He handed her an envelope.

Naina opened it.

Inside were dozens of candid photographs.

Every picture was of Naina.

She was reading...

Smiling...

Looking at the harbor...

Feeding birds...

Watching the sunset...

Not a single photograph had been posed.

Her eyes slowly filled with tears.

Naina: You took all these...

without telling me?

Sameer: I wanted to capture the moments when you were being yourself.

Naina continued turning the photographs.

The last photograph had a handwritten message.

"I never believed in love... until I unknowingly started seeing the world through your smile."

Naina looked up.

Sameer took a deep breath.

Sameer: Do you remember our first meeting?

Naina: You proposed to me within five minutes.

Both laughed.

Sameer: That wasn't love.

It was my ego.

I wanted to prove I could make any girl fall for me.

But somewhere between our arguments...

our lunches...

our boat rides...

and our endless conversations...

I stopped trying to impress you.

I started waiting to see you every day.

I used to laugh at love stories...

Today...

I'm living one.

I love you, Naina.

Not for two weeks.

Not for two months.

For the rest of my life.

There was complete silence.

Tears rolled down Naina's cheeks.

Naina: Sameer...

I was afraid of this day.

Sameer: Why?

Naina: Because I had already fallen in love with you.

Sameer looked at her in disbelief.

Sameer: Really?

She nodded.

Naina: I tried convincing myself that we were only friends.

But every time you smiled...

every time you argued with me...

every time you secretly clicked my photographs...

my heart chose you.

I love you too.

Sameer's eyes became moist.

He gently held her hand.

The song began in the background.

"Tanhayee..."

Dil Ke Raaste Mein...

Kaisi Thokar Maine Khaayi...

Toote Khwaab Saare...

The song transitioned into hopeful orchestral music as Sameer and Naina walked hand in hand along the harbor.

Sharad Arrives

At that moment, Sharad arrived after Anand had asked him to come.

He saw Sameer and Naina together.

Naina walked toward him.

Naina: Sharad... I'm sorry.

I respected you.

But I realized I never truly loved you.

Sharad remained silent.

After a few moments, he smiled sadly.

Sharad: I knew it.

The way you looked at him...

You never looked at me that way.

Sameer stepped forward.

Sameer: I'm sorry.

Sharad shook his head.

Sharad: Don't be.

Love cannot be forced.

It has to be returned.

He looked at Naina.

Sharad: I want you to be happy.

Take care of her.

Sameer nodded.

Sameer: I promise.

Sharad shook hands with Sameer before walking away with dignity.

Final Song

The three friends met. Sameer said, "Munna, I am sorry for making fun of you when you said you love Swati. Ratan, congratulations on getting your lady love, and sorry for ridiculing you. I understood that love is not only about possessing or physical intimacy. It's an innermost feeling."

Munna + Ratan: It's okay. We are glad that you realized your love for Naina and boldly confessed it to her."

Munna: Ratan, I am also sorry for making fun of you. I realized that age is only a number.

Ratan: It's okay, Munna. I am glad that you understood that feelings can't be controlled for long.

Months later, after Ratan–Diya's wedding and Munna–Swati's engagement took place with the consent of both families. Likewise, Sameer and Naina also got engaged with the blessings of both families - Vivek, Vishaka, Anand, & Bela.

As all three couples celebrated together, the title track played once again:

"Dil Chahta Hai..."

The three friends laughed, danced, and looked back at their unforgettable journey—from carefree boys who mocked love to men who had finally found it.
