"I love you" doesn't really mean that I want you to be mine. In fact, it's another way of saying, "I'm happy to see you happy with someone else even if it's killing me." So I guess I love you.
Lavanya unclipped her hair before throwing the clip on dresser. Picking a comb, she started to brush her hair with it mechanically lost in some other thoughts. After few minutes, she threw the comb away and sat on the bed holding her head, completely frustrated. Nothing is happening according to her plan. In fact, her every single plan is backfiring; all thanks to Kushi Singh Raizada.
Lavanya buried her face in her joined hands and began to massage her temple with thumbs hoping that it will stop throbbing. She has never been so much frustrated. Feeling that she is playing with three lives is stabbing her heart and not allowing her mind to think straight. She never wanted to get involved in these stuffs. But Kushi didn't leave her with any other option.
Month back, when she came to know that Kushi was arjun's sister and Arnav and Kushi were hiding it from her, she was really hurt. She tried to distance herself from both of them as she was angry on both of them for different reasons. Angry on Kushi, for hiding it from her. Of course she was angrier on Arnav than Kushi as she got an idea of what he had actually done to Kushi.
Knowing Arnav well, it was not difficult for her to guess that Arnav had actually used Kushi to take revenge on Arjun. She felt sick about it. She wondered how Kushi could forgive him so easily because if she was in kushi's place she would have never forgiven him for what he did just like she still couldn't forgive Arjun. No matter how much Lavanya was angry on Arnav, she really couldn't hate him. So she was happy thinking Arnav and Kushi were happy.
Everything was fine until the day when Kushi informed Lavanya about her contract marriage with Arnav causally during one of their random phone conversation. She further added that they both are married for the sake of their unborn and she will leave him once their child is born. To say Lavanya was shocked would have been understatement. She was beyond that state as she thought Arnav and Kushi loved each other.
Kushi even said that Arnav still loved Lavanya and not her and she would never stand in between Arnav and Lavanya. Lavanya ignored it as she knew better than that. Arnav's love for Kushi was so transparent that even thick head people can understand it. But Lavanya couldn't understand why Kushi couldn't see it. She didn't ask Arnav about it as she thought it was husband and wife issue and she had no rights to poke nose into it.
When Lavanya returned back to Delhi, Kushi invited her to stay at Raizada mansion for few days. Lavanya accepted it thinking it will provide her perfect opportunity to talk with Kushi. When she came here, she understood two things. First Kushi was damn serious about whatever she was saying. Second, Arnav didn't even have slightest idea of it. After talking with Anjali, she understood that not only Arnav but whole family ignorant of the fact.
She couldn't understand how Arnav can be so blind towards Kushi when he suspects each and every other thing. She knew Love can reduce anyone but up to this extent? She was worried for Arnav. She has already broken Arnav's heart once. She didn't want Kushi to repeat it. So she decided to confront Kushi.
Next day, she tried to convince Kushi. But Kushi seemed to be more stubborn. Lavanya even asked her whether she was feeling guilty of what arjun did to her and trying to sacrifice her love. Kushi refused it saying Arnav and she are never destined to be together. She even made Lavanya to swear on her unborn that she will not tell anything about it to Arnav. Lavanya desperately wanted to stop Kushi. As her pleas went drain, she tried different route.
She said "if you want to leave then you can leave, Kushi. It's between you and Arnav. I don't care about it. But you can't force me to stay here or marry Arnav. Arnav has become my past and i had overcome it. I don't have any idea to let him become my future." Within seconds Kushi's eyes got filled with tears as the glow disappeared.
Kushi replied "I thought you loved Arnav just like I do. Yes, I do love him. But it's not working, Lavanya. I gave a lot of thought to it. But every time I see him it reminds me of my past; of my mom. I couldn't overcome it, Lavanya. And Arnav is not happy because he is still guilty of what he did to you. We both are dying inside. That's why i decided to leave him. I will have my child with me. So i think I can easily overcome it. But he will be hurt. That's why i wanted you to help him. He still loves you and only you can help him. As you said I can't force you. You can leave if you want."
That was the day Lavanya was confused more than anything. She could relate to kushi's feeling. Kushi might actually feel hurt to live with Arnav after what he had done. But she didn't want Arnav to get hurt. He really loves Kushi. She knew she has to tell this to Arnav. But she had no idea how to tell him? Whether he will believe her or not?
But what was comforting was, after confrontation, Kushi seemed sad and was waiting for Arnav like anything. Lavanya thought that everything is kushi's misunderstanding and she can explain it to her. That night, by mistake, she even witnessed them kissing each other. Lavanya used that opportunity.
She asked Kushi "you said you both are unhappy with each other. But I couldn't see anything like that." Lavanya noticed Arnav was walking towards them. As he came to audible distance, she spoke in little raised tone. "How do i look to you? A fool who believes everything you say! You had lied to me, Kushi!"
That night Lavanya was happy thinking that everything will be fine by next day. Arnav will surely ask Kushi about it and if they both talk everything will be fine. Lavanya wanted to leave the house very next day. But Anjali and nani's trip to Mumbai forced her to stay here. She accepted it thinking everything was fine by then. However she was wrong again.
It seems like Kushi liked to prove Lavanya wrong every single time. She actually decided to leave the house when no one was there. Lavanya was terrified. She tried to explain Kushi.
You are fooling yourself Kushi. You can't even live a second without Arnav.
I can. Actually I am better without him. I can even prove it to you Lavanya.
Lavanya challenged her to stay with them but she should not talk with Arnav. Kushi accepted it on one condition. If Lavanya keeps her mouth shut, she will do it. If Lavanya opens her mouth to Arnav, Kushi will confront Arnav and leave the house. Result is Arnav will be hurt which Lavanya didn't want to happen. Lavanya thought Kushi can never stay away from Arnav. She has seen so much love on her eyes for him. So she accepted her condition.
But again Lavanya was proved wrong. Kushi was determined more than Lavanya thought. Kushi avoided Arnav for five whole days. With every passing day, Lavanya lost her sleep. Yesterday night when Kushi bluntly refused to have dinner with Arnav, Lavanya noticed Arnav's hurt. At same time, Kushi also looked hurt. An idea stroked her mind.
It was easy for Kushi to ask Lavanya to marry him. But it will hurt her only when it happens. Jealousy does wonders in love. So Lavanya tried it yesterday night by feeding Arnav and making him to stay longer with her. To add more fuel to fire, today, one hour before, she went to Kushi and said that she understands kushi's situation and ready to accept Arnav after she leaves.
She expected Kushi at least to become sad. But instead she become happy and said her god had finally answered her prayers. She even went to temple to do pooja for Arnav and Lavanya. Lavanya felt like banging her head on something. She had enough. To hell with her promise, tonight she is going to confront Arnav. That's final.
She couldn't understand kushi's stubbornness. But she could see Kushi is hurting herself. If something happens to her or to baby, then Lavanya could never forgive herself. "I should have done it before! i should have done it before!" she murmured to herself.
Arnav won't believe her easily but she has to make him believe. She knew that he is already suspecting her because of her lovey-dovey act on yesterday night and today morning. If she says it was his wife who had asked her to do that, he won't believe her. So she decided to go in same path by pretending to love him and then confront him. He has done so much for her and this is the least thing she could do for him.
She heard calling bell sound from downstairs. "Who is it, HP?" she shouted. "It's Arnav bhaiya, lavanyaji." She heard servant's reply. This is perfect time. No one is at home. "For you, Arnav." she took deep breath before going to meet him.
"Hi Arnav." she stopped him in hallway and beamed a smile at him. He nodded and then his eyes seemed to search for something. Though Lavanya know who he was looking for, she decided to keep her mouth shut until he asks her. "Where is Kushi?" She looked up at him and replied that she has gone to temple. He nodded again and moved towards his room.
"You seem to be tired. Go and freshen up. I will make your dinner ready!" she announced loudly making him to halt for a second but he didn't turn. "I have even kept your night clothes on bed." He stopped and turned to her. "You did what?"
"Kushi was not home. So I thought I would..." she couldn't finish it as Arnav covered distance between them in one stride. "SO? YOU ENTERED MY ROOM IN ABSENCE OF MY WIFE?!?" he spitted words like venom. Lavanya shivered with intensity of his voice. She had to close her eyes to escape his angry glare. All she could think was 'why you chose me out of all girls, Kushi?'
"What's wrong in it?" she asked in low voice while Arnav moved back. Arnav didn't want to hurt her. So he reduced his tone but still it was firm. "Don't you think that you are taking too much advantage? I am married and I love my wife!" she replied "you even loved me once!"
Lavanya jerked as Arnav threw the vase near the table on ground. "That's true Lavanya. I loved you once; from bottom of my heart. Not anymore. If you could remember, it was you who rejected me. Now I have some respect left for you. Don't spoil it Lavanya." his voice sounded dangerous. "You are lying, Arnav. You still love me." her voice as trembling.
"ENOUGH!" his voice echoed through the entire house. "i said i love my wife. Oh, sorry. I forgot you don't understand the meaning of it. For you, love is money, right? You chose arjun because he had money. You accepted me two years back because i had money. I was right. i felt something was going bad When Kushi wanted you to stay here.
But she was adamant and wanted to help you. And YOU? You are trying to fool her behind her back."
This time Lavanya was really hurt. Tears began to flow down her cheeks. She was not hurt because he talked about her past. She deserved it. But what hurt her most was Arnav didn't wanted her to stay here. He thought she will destroy his family. She was badly hurt but she tried to be brave.
"Stop acting like you act in front of world, Arnav!" though her voice was not as loud as Arnav but still it had same effect. "I know that you don't love Kushi nor she does it. You married her for sake of your child and she will leave this house once child is born." Arnav looked puzzled and asked "what rubbish you are talking, Lavanya?"
"Truth! You even married her on contract basis." Arnav was flabbergasted. "Who told you this?" Lavanya smiled mockingly. "Who all knew about it, Arnav?" Arnav took step back. "Kushi!" his voice which lower than whisper was filled with disbelief. Seeing him hurt, for a second, Lavanya felt bad. But he deserved it. He was ignorant of what was going on his wife's mind who he claimed to love so much.
"i accepted the reality and was living my own life. She was the one who called me and told me that you still love me and not her." Lavanya spoke in confident tone. "I don't believe you!" Arnav replied. "Ask your wife first and then talk to me." saying so she left the place, leaving Arnav to ponder over with many thoughts.
No one knew about their contract. Actually they didn't even sign it. It was oral contract. But how come Lavanya knew about it? Did Kushi really tell it to her? Did Kushi really think he still loves Lavanya? Then what is the meaning of life that they had been living for past five months? Hadn't he given enough reason for her to believe he loves her? What she actually expects him to do?
His heart contradicted with thought of what Kushi thinks of him. Whatever it could be how she can disclose something happened between them to some else? Doesn't she love him? With every passing second and thoughts, his pain increased and his anger doubled.
Hour later, when Kushi entered silent mansion, she felt relieved thinking that Arnav is not yet home. As she stepped inside her room, she felt tug at her wrist and in next moment she was pinned to the wall. Opening her eyes after fraction of second, her eyes clashed with dark red eyes filled with fury. For the first time in her life, she felt scared seeing her husband; her Arnav. "Ar...nav..."
