CHAPTER 23 - PART A
If you hide, I'll seek for you. If you're lost, I'll search for you. If you leave, I'll wait for you. If they try to take you away from me, I'll fight for you. Because i love you.
Arnav loosened his grip around her as she snuggled close to him in sleep. She moved with slight pout on her face trying to find more comfortable position. He smiled as she settled her head on his chest and continued to sleep. He tightened his grip around her, cuddling her more close to him and kissed her head. Then he continued to do what he was doing for past one hour; watching her sleep.
She looked so innocent and beautiful while she slept. Her regular and warm breath which fell on his bare chest gave his heart another reason to continue its beating. The completeness he felt today with her was unimaginable. She not only made him feel complete but actually made his life complete along with their child.
He grip around her waist tightened at the thought of their child. His heart overwhelmed with happiness. Though he enjoyed every moment of his life now, he still couldn't wait for the day to hold his daughter in his arms, of course along with her mother. As if sensing his intense gaze, Kushi raised her head and opened her sleepy eyes to look at her smiling husband.
"You are awake." She commented sleepily to which he nodded and pecked on her forehead. She gave him a lazy smile and asked "what are you thinking?" he replied "about us!" she widened her sleepy eyes asking him to elaborate. "I never thought that this day would come in our life." He told her honestly.
"Even I never thought that I will hear those words from your mouth in this life time." She admitted resting her head on his chest again. "i love you Kushi." he said and kissed her head through her hair. "Arnav?" he looked at her opened eyes which had no trace of sleep. "yeah." He answered her caressing her hair. "Do you really do that?" she raised her head looking at him expectantly.
He smirked and asked her "Do you want me to prove it again? How about another proving session?" Kushi sulked making serious face and warned "answer me, Arnav." he looked at her lovingly and then removed hair which covered her face, as she was on top of him, and tucked it behind her ears. "i do. I do love you with all my heart and soul."
He smiled at her but his smile vanished hearing her next question. "From when?" he blinked trying to process her question. She looked at him curiously as he began to talk in daze. "i always liked you, Kushi. You were beautiful, caring, practical, innocent..." he said caressing her cheeks with his thumb. "You had everything which i wanted my girl to have. I couldn't make decision because..."
He stopped unsure of how to continue further when she completed his sentence. "Because Lavanya also had those things." He stared at her for few seconds before nodding his head. "But there was something different about you. I felt an unknown pull towards you. Not mere physical attraction, it's something more; something else."
Kushi smiled making him to stop talking and he asked the reason for her smile by raising his brows. "I know it. In fact i too experienced that pull towards you." He smiled before continuing "i knew that something was love. But i refused to accept it to myself. Actually I was scared to accept it. Like everyone say three month separation made me to realise it. "
"But still I was able to convince myself that Lavanya was perfect for me. Because for ten years i was doing it; convincing myself that Lavanya was perfect for me. Yes, in a way she was more than perfect but something, some huge thing was missing. That huge thing made me feel empty whenever it thought about Lavanya and me. I was never able to figure out what that thing was until you came back to me." He suddenly giggled stunning Kushi.
"You might find it silly. But that was the truth. Seeing you in my house made me feel weak. Then i was completely bowled over by what you did! Do you remember we both were talking standing there?" he pointed towards French window. How well she remembered it. It was the first time she had entered this room.
"You asked me whether i know how it feels to be orphan. Then you angrily spoke in determined tone. 'If not, then brave yourself, mr.raizada. Before I leave this house, I will make sure that you feel the pain which I felt three months before.' ufff..." Arnav sighed loudly. "That second i fell for you, kushi. Not just a small fall, but fall from which i know i could never recover myself. In fact i never wanted to get up from that fall because i loved it."
"i wanted Lavanya to fight back against your brother. She fought back in her own way. But that's not what i expected her to do. You did what i wanted Lavanya to do. You came back, fought and won me." He smiled again. "That day you were talking something about destroying my family. But believe me; i didn't even hear a word. All i heard was my heart beating sound. It was beating so fast that i thought it would break my ribcage and come out." he shook his head in disbelief.
"i was overwhelmed with so many emotions that i took me ages to realize that you were pregnant even after you said it. After that i behaved rudely because i didn't want you to hurt my family. But I know that i will never let you go again; never again at least until my last breath." He stopped caressing her cheek, his eyes widened as suddenly Kushi jolted up holding quilt close to her body.
"What happened?" He asked warily. "nothing." She replied in causal tone hiding her nervousness. She again laid on him but didn't hug him. He could feel her stiffen and tensed body. "kushi." he called her name. "Arnav i think i should take bath. It feels uncomfortable." She said looking at him in distress. He studied her for a moment before giving a nod.
After he went into bathroom he massaged his temple calming himself. He dressed himself in frustration. She was lying to him again. First she lied about she had no other option except to come to him. And now? She is hiding something very big from him. But he had no idea about it. What could it be? His mind started to ponder and fact she was hiding something from him disturbed him.
She didn't trust him well enough to share with him the reason which was bothering her. 'How can she do this?' he thought. Part of him told that if she hides it then there must be reason for it. Even he had hid truth about aarti from her. Well, he hid it as he didn't want her to feel bad for mistake which she never committed.
Thinking about aarti suddenly he felt low. His past started to haunt him yet again. He never knew what aarti underwent and he was so clueless. And he felt same is happening with Kushi. Impulsive dread spread through his vein. Is he losing her just like he lost aarti? He sunk on recliner as aarti's memory haunted him.
He was not close with aarti like he was with Anjali. But he loved her. She was his little sister. But he had no idea that his little sister hated him. He had no idea that she was killed. Two years back, Anjali was angry after coming to know that he had taken revenge on shyam's chachu by destroying him. On Anjali instance he agreed to pay the loan behalf of them and let sandeep, shyam's cousin brother, free from prison.
He went to Mumbai to meet sandeep. He always considered sandeep as his own brother. He knew sandeep was good at heart but only is father made him do all wrong things. But sandeep refused to accept his help. He said he deserved that punishment as they not only killed shyam and his father but also aarti.
Sandeep's father was plotting against his own brother. He couldn't do it on his own. That's when he noticed aarti's behaviour towards rest of family. After their father's dismissal, aarti always maintained distance from Arnav and Anjali. Sandeep's father took advantage of it. Sandeep trapped aarti in the name of love. She was the one who got shyam's signature in blank documents along it her college papers.
She called shyam and lied that anjali was not well and asked them to come to place where their car got crushed by truck. Aarti was unaware of sandeep's real intension until she came to know that they are planning to throw Anjali and Arnav out of their house. She confronted sandeep in night club. He had promised her to take care of her well in return for what she did.
Aarti was devastated to know that she had destroyed her own sister's life unknowingly. She promised sandeep that she will make him pay for it. That's when arjun gupta, sandeep's best friend entered. He sweet talked with aarti and made her to drink. Aarti who was already shattered, completely broke down to him and sobbed. He added sleeping pills to her drink.
When aarti became unconscious, they made her to take more sleeping pills and got her home. They made all arrangements to make it look like a suicide. Whole world believed that Aarti Singh Raizada committed suicide by taking excessive sleeping pills and alcohol. Arnav too believed it.
Two years back, when sandeep confessed him everything in guilt, Arnav was not angry; not even on sandeep. His own sister had deceived them. aarti was reason for Anjali, prem and pia's suffering. But aarti would have never done it, if Anjali and he had treated her well in childhood. Though they rectified their mistakes as they grew up, it was their childhood deed which created scar on aarti's heart. He never told truth to Anjali or his grandmother.
Life had never been easy for Arnav. His whole world was filled with betrayal. He lost belief on everything. Little later, he came to know that arjun was the one who destroyed lavnaya's life. Arnav smiled dejectedly thinking how arjun was part of reason for all his suffering. He knew sandeep doesn't know to think in evil manner.
If arjun had been not there that day, he knew aarti would have confronted him. She would have been alive. They might have got their fortune back. Things would have been little better if not best. Arjun had managed to destroy his loved one's life. In a way arnav had lost to him.
You might have won it using my sister. But mark my words, final victory will be mine. I will make sure that you lose every single thing, you bas***d Raizada.
Because of you, my mother died. Because of you, my father got killed. Because of you, my own brother disowned me and he was sent to jail.
I will make sure that you feel the pain which I felt three months before. I will make sure that you have no one.
I thought you had no right on my child after the way you left me. But I had no other option except to come back to you.
Arnav jolted up from recliner with a start. He remembered what his private detectives had informed him. After he left Mumbai, Kushi rarely stepped out of her house. Two places she visited were prison and hospital. She visited arjun thrice in one month. He wondered why she visited arjun when she was the only witness in her father's murder case. Even she visited arjun on the day she came to Delhi.
Arnav became tensed as his mind started to think about all possibilities. But Kushi can never do this to him. She loves him, right? But she hated him when she came back to him. There is possibility that arjun might have manipulated her. He doesn't even know whether arjun got his bail or not. How can he be so careless?
Is arjun playing some dirty games with his Kushi? "Better he don't. Or else i won't even allow him to die peacefully!" Arnav murmured angrily as he punched some button on his phone.

Kushi stepped out of bathroom in her bathrobe. She noticed that Arnav was facing other side. She was too tired even to wonder why he was on phone at this odd hour. She was confused with her own thoughts. Why the hell she decided to come here?
It is true that she hated Arnav that time. She was angry on him. She thought coming here would be best way to hurt him. But how was she supposed to know that it will hurt her more than him?
How was she supposed to know that she will fall in love with her enemy again?
How was she supposed to know that he will fall in love with his enemy?
How was she supposed to know that love will be more painful than hatred?
She had created this mess. But she doesn't know any way to get out of it except to suffer and feel the pain. But she can't do this anymore. She can't hurt Arnav. oh god, he will be devastated after knowing the truth. He might even hate her. But does she care?
No. All she cares was about him. She will not hurt him. She will not make him suffer. She will make everything fine, at least for him.
"Are you okay?" she turned to Arnav and nodded with smile before hugging him. "i want to tell you something." she said hugging him more tightly. "What is it?" he asked in cautious tone. "i love you, arnav. I love you more than myself."
