Chapter 10

The dinner was as usual noisy affair, as all of them met after a whole one week. They ordered their favourite food , cracked jokes, enjoyed each and every moment that they all missed in this week.

Arnav being Arnav, never let any chance go to glance towards his lady love. Khushi was aware of Arnav's piercing eyes on her, but she chose to ignore it.

La was hell angry with NK after she saw him talking sweetly with that lady. She was unaware of the fact that the lady was NK's relative not any random flirty gal. La kept quite as she dint want to spoil the happy mood of their friends.

After the dinner Arnav asked Aakash to drop all as he was going to drop Khushi to her mansion. Khushi was surprised first at his sudden announcement but decided to stay quite as she herself wanted to talk to Arnav.

As they entered the mansion, Arnav said a quick good night to Khushi. After wishing him good night, Khushi started to walk towards the main door but stopped as Arnav called her from behind.

She stopped on her track but dint move from her place. She was waiting for Arnav to speak but all she felt was Arnav's hot breathe on her neck and shoulder. She shivered a little but got a sweet shock when Arnav kissed her hair from back and whispered , " Don't think much princess..Have a nice sleep. Be ready at 8 tomorrow morning , all of us will be moving to our apartments. I will pick you up, take care of yourself..Bye!!!"

Khushi stood there for God knows how much time, lost in her thoughts, but came back when Arnav blew the horn of the car and gestured her to go inside.

Seeing Khushi lost in her thoughts Arnav again came out of his car and made his way to Khushi. He gently takes her hand in his and guided her to enter the mansion.

"Mom what happened ? Why is doctor here? Are you ok? Where is dad? " Khushi shot all the questions at her in a single breath.

"Calm down Khushi. Yeah Aunty what happened? What is the matter?", Arnav asked as he puts his arm around Khushi's mom shoulder and make her sit on the couch.

Just then the doctor cleared all their doubts and said, "Actually kids Mr. Gupta's sugar level was dropped suddenly and he fainted. Mrs. Gupta immediately called me and I have already given him all the necessary medications. Now he is fine just unconscious due to the effect of the medicines. But you all have to take care of his health as his sugar level dropped second time within 15 days. This is not at all good for his health. Please take care of this diet and keep him away from all the stress. I am leaving now , I will come tomorrow morning for his routine check up. And Mrs. Gupta don't worry Mr. Gupta will fine, you just need to take care of him".

Arnav thanked the doctor and dropped him upto the main door. As Khushi's dad's health was not good, he has decided to stayed back for the night. He very well knows today Khushi and her mom needs him.

When Arnav came back he saw Khushi leaning on her mom's shoulder and both daughter and mother were crying silently and consoling each other. Arnav went to the kitchen and poured water in two glasses and brought it to them. He make them drink the water and said, " Aunty I think you should go to Uncle now. He might needs you anytime and don't worry about Khushi, I am with her. If you need anything just call me".

Saying this Arnav helps Mrs.Gupta to get up from the couch. He went with her and checked Mr.Gupta if he needs anything or not. After assuring Mrs. Gupta that everything will be fine, he made his way back to the hall where Khushi was crying silently.

Arnav gently sat beside Khushi and held her hands in his and said, " Princess, its okh..Uncle is fine now and we all are going to take care of him together".

Khushi while crying crushed herself to Arnav and hugged him tight as if her life depends on him. Arnav without even realizing embraced her and felt bad as his love was crying infront of him.

"Arnav, I love Dad very much. It hurts Arnav to see my dad lying in this condition. I don't afford to lose him. He is the most precious gift that God has given me till date", saying this Khushi began to sob uncontrollably.

"Khushi you have to be strong princess not only for you but also for Aunty and Uncle. And I promise you I was with you, I am with you and I will be with you FOREVER!!!", Arnav said as stroking Khushi's silky strands.

Hearing Arnav's words Khushi looked up into his chocolaty eyes and said "HAMESHA nah!". To which Arnav answered "ALWAYS!!!" and kissed her forehead.

After consoling some 30 minutes Arnav felt Khushi's breathe was even and she was sound asleep. He gently picked her up in his arms and went to her room. Arnav placed Khushi on her bed and covered her carefully with the duvet.

Arnav checked Khushi one last time before leaving the room and went to console Mrs. Gupta.

Mrs. Gupta is a motherly figure to Arnav since childhood. Gupta's has only one daughter but they always treat Arnav as their own son. He saw Mrs. Gupta sitting in the hall and was lost in her own thoughts.

Arnav slowly takes the seat next to Mrs. Gupta and said, " Maa ( Arnav always addresses Mrs. Gupta as 'Maa' when he was sad or tensed) , Uncle will be fine believe me. I will make sure that he will stay stress free".

Mrs. Gupta slowly raised her hand and said while placing her hand on his cheek, " Beta I know he will be fine but I am tensed about Khushi. You know nah she is very sensitive when it comes to her dad".

Arnav placed his hand over her palm and said, " Maa you don't need to worry. I am here for you, for uncle and for MY KHUSHI. I will always be there for you all".

Arnav dint even realized that he has confessed infront of Mrs. Gupta. Hearing My Khushi from Arnav's mouth Mrs Gupta understood that Arnav has already realized his feelings for Khushi. She smiled through her tears and blessed Arnav for being such an understandable son always.

Arnav hugged Mrs. Gupta and said, " I love her Maa and I am promising you, I will keep her happy always till my last breathe".

Arnav broke the hug and asked her to go and take rest. Mrs. Gupta kissed Arnav's forehead and said, " Always be happy beta".

After Mrs. Gupta retired for her room, Arnav made his way to Khushi's room.

As he entered her room , he saw her still sleeping forgetting all tension. Arnav slowly stood beside her and kissed her forehead and said while remembering the previous conversation between them , " I love you Khushi, you are the most special gift that God has given me till date".

Arnav held her hand and kissed it while sitting on the floor admiring his lady love. He dint even realized when he fall asleep.

Next morning Mr. Gupta asked his wife to call Arnav and Khushi. Mrs. Gupta went to Khushi's room to call the kids. But the scene infront of her brought tears in her eyes.

There Khushi was sleeping on her bed and Arnav was sleeping just beside her holding her hands in his, leaning on the bed still sitting on the floor. Mrs. Gupta prayed to her Devi Maiyaan to bless the kids and shower all the happiness on them.
