Part 4:

She just reached the door when his voice made her stop in her tracks..."I will come"

She couldn't believe what she heard from him...she looked back once but he wasn't even looking at her...she tried to confirm if he really said that, "really??? I mean did you really say that you will come!"

He merely replied with a, "hmmm...[he added to dismiss her from there] ab mujhe thoda kaam karna hai "

She got his message that she had to leave...though his akdu reply irritated her, she was very happy because he accepted her invite and he was really coming to her party!...

She rushed out smiling...

Though his eyes were on the file, he was noticing her smiles and gestures...he grinned and shook his head amused by her antics!

There was more than one reason for his accepting this invite...He wanted answers to many of his questions...questions related to her past which he had come across by coincidence...

His intuitions always told him that there was a deeper mystery behind the ever smiling happy chirpy Miss Sakshi Anand...He had also long before realized that there was much more to her than her non stop nonsense...And when his urge to know her more grew stronger, he had done some digging up...but things he found out didn't add up...many of her details were still blank and he wanted her to fill it up for him...He knew that making her talk about it wasn't that easy but he had to know...and he will know it!

Sakshi came back to the team smiling...but she chose to keep Arjun coming for the party a surprise for them...

Though they pestered her to tell why she was so happy, she didn't let the cat out neither did the team guess the reason...Arjun coming to the party was unthinkable for them...

Shree: Sakshi, tum itna khush kyun ho??? Arjun sir ne b'day wish kiya kya?

Liza shoots back instantly, "woh toh shaam ko hi kardiya na"

All including Aisha were looking at her for a reply...

Sakshi looked at all their enquiring faces and laughed out, "Well guys, it's a surprise...so reason matt poochna..."

Aisha smiled slyly, "surprise, huh? Well you have a surprise too..."

Sakshi narrowed her brows and enquired, "surprise?? Kaisi surprise?"

Shree grinned and repeated the same reply that she had given, "well surprise hai, so reason matth pocho"

Sakshi was eager to know but she hid her eagerness and shrugged it off, "ok...filaal main ghar jaa rahi hoom...tum log bhi jaldi aa jaana...khoob masti karenge...ok?"

Chotu: rukho Sakshi...sab saat chalthe hai

Sakshi was already breezing away to the door...she replied, "na re na...main abi jaa rahi hoom...ghar mein kuch kaam hai"

All were trying to stop her saying what big job she had...and all food was going to be ordered!

She didn't hear to any of those...well what did they know...she had to clean up her home and make it look perfect...afterall not every day does ACP Arjun Rawte comes to her home...

An hour later...Sakshi's home...

She finished some cleaning work and also cooked up some biriyani...She knew that the team loved the biriyani she made...it was her speciality, the only dish she had learnt to cook from her mother...perhaps she inherited the magic of her mother's cooking flavours and tastes as well!...

And yes, she knew biriyani was Arjun's favorite food ...Never once she had the guts to offer him at office but today, she had the chance to do it...so she wasn't going to let that go!

She took a quick bath and then started scanning her wardrobe for an elegant dress to wear...she realized that she had no new dresses which could become her birthday party dress...but it was too late a realization...she couldn't go out for shopping now...her work life had become so hectic that her shopping was over due...

She sighed deeply and then pulled out the best of the lot...she had just worn it once...a peach pick sleeveless dress which Aisha had even complimented as beautiful!...

She kept the dress on the bed and started drying her hair when the door bell rang...

"itne jaldi kaun hoga? Must be Aisha or Liza...mere help karne aayi hogi"

The bell rang impatiently once more...Without another thought, she knotted her hair up and rushed to the door screaming, "aa rahi hoom...ek minute ruko na?"

She opened the door and was shocked to see him standing at the door...while he was more than surprised to see her in an over sized T shirt which fell off shoulder on one side revealing her creamy skin below the cloth and a three quarter yoga pants...she had pulled on whatever came to her hand in her hurry and excitement!

Her wet hair was knotted up into a loose bun...few strands carelessly messed around her face...waterdroplets still dripped drenching her shoulders giving her a totally seductive hot look...he inhaled sharply and tried his best to look away from her...but his eyes betrayed him big time or was it his heart that kept pulling his gaze back to her?

It was the first time he was seeing her in such a casual form...and she never expected him so early...so she was pretty careless about what she wore...despite her embarrassment, she shamelessly looked at him...He looked devilishly handsome in the killer white shirt and blue jeans...all she could do was stare at him...

He raised his eyebrows and looked at her head to toe...Was he questioning her looks or her careless style of dressing or both? That wasn't clear...

They looked at each other in shock for a long moment before she snapped out and looked away embarrassed...she stepped aside to allow him in..."welcome Arjun...woh actually, tum itne jaldi..."

Arjun stepped in voicing in sarcasm, "tumne dinner party bola tha na?"

He looked at the clock on the opposite wall and it showed 8:30 which was the perfect dinner time...

Sakshi showed a funny face while he looked into the clock...she thought to herself, "oh haan...party ignorant hai bechaara Arjun..."

He looked back at her for her explanation for the delay... His eyes were fixed on her as if studying her and her body language entirely...she could feel his gaze but then controlled her urge to look back at him...she knew that eye locks like that could turn catastrophic...she didn't want to end up being embarrassed for the second time and that too on her b'day...

She just managed to say, "tum beito...sab aathe hi honge...I will just be back"

She had to get into a proper dress before anything else...the loose top was falling off her shoulders and she was having a tough time keeping it in place...

He sat on the sofa while she quickly walked into her room...Shutting the door, she let a deep breath..."phewww...itne tension pehle kabhi nahi hua..."

She changed into the peach dress...dried her hair and brushed it properly...

As she got ready, he stood up and looked around her living room...it was neat...and what surprised him most was that the walls were all empty...there were no photos or wall hangings...except for the minimum furniture and the chairs, the place was empty...

Going by her character and nature, he had expected that the room would be full of cute things...gift, momentoes...there was nothing...and most impotantly, nothing to reveal to him about her real self...except for one little thing...his eyes fell on the small stone studded Ganesha idol which she kept on the side table...but that wasn't much of a surprise. He knew she was very religious...and Ganesha was her favorite God!

He walked to the far end which had a book shelf to check on her choice of books...He was just opening the glass door of the shelf when he heard a chorus "HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU SAKSHI!"

In came a bunch of people which also included his team...they didn't notice him and Sakshi also came out by then...Aisha and Liza hugged her and wished once more...

Sakshi was surprised seeing some of her college friends and some close colleagues from her previous work place...

Shree grinned seeing her surprised expressions and Sakshi was quick to grasp that they had planned it for her...Yes, it was Shree's idea to invite Sakshi's other close friends with whom she had lost touch with...Shree had taken the list out from her social networking profiles which she rarely used now...

Sakshi gave Shree a friendly hug to thank him for this cute gesture of making this a sort of reunion...

Arjun stood in the corner glancing at the turn of events...He hadn't thought it would be such a crowded party...He mentally smacked himself for having come there...

Shree was the first one to notice Arjun...he cleaned his specs and rubbed his eyes once more to check if he was for real or was he hallucinating...he patted chotu and Aisha also to check...All were equally stunned seeing him there...

By then, Sakshi finished a quick round of hi's and hello's and came back...she saw the team's reaction and grinned...She whispered to them "SURPRISE!"...

Shree, Chotu, Aisha and Liza tried to talk something casually with Arjun...but after a few minutes, he excused from all of them and preferred to sit in a secluded corner...

Sakshi served cool drinks to all her friends and then looked around for Arjun...

Sakshi noticed that he was left all alone and went to give him company with a glass of juice for him...She took a seat opposite to him and for the first time, Arjun felt good having her near him...He didn't know the reason...

Sakshi handed over the glass to him and enquired, "aise akele kyun beito ho Arjun...wahaan sab ke saath chalke beito na?"

Arjun closed the book he held and replied suddenly, "main yahaan sirf tumse milne aaya hoom Sakshi..."

Sakshi didn't know how to take that...what did he actually mean by that? She didn't know if he was angry or what?

Before she could comprehend and react to it, Aisha called her..."Sakshi...zara idhar aana...dekho kaun aaya hai"

Sakshi looked at the door and then stood up in excitement and joy...She called out in happiness "NEEEL"

She rushed to the door vocing, "itna bada surprise...wow..."

Arjun narrowed his brows seeing her enthusiasm and looked to the direction...there stood a handsome young guy dressed in a casual black shirt and cargo pants...He smiled and stretched his arms out for Sakshi voicing, "Happy Birthday sweety!"...and she willingly went into his arms...

It was evident that he was very close to Sakshi...perhaps a close friend whom she was meeting after a very long time!

Yeah Neel is a surprise twist...no dont worry..no triangles but a simple twist just to move the story forward! and u know my supporting guys are very cool...Neel is no exception...like my Dhruv and Raj, Neel is also a cool dude who might make u fall in love with him! 😉
