Chapter 24

(Part C)

I heard someone taking my name softly.I didn't wanted to get up but then the voice again called me.Pushing away the sleep I opened my tired eyes and there my MIL was standing and behind her Sharon with tray full of food.My husband standing near window and talking on phone.

I tried to get up and my MIL was beside me the next second to help me.

Sudha:"Beta,sorry for disturbing you.We brought food for you.Its not good for you to stay empty stomach for long"

Mom said lovingly patting my head.I smiled at her but was feeling nauseous.

Sharon came forward and kept the food tray in front of me and the next second I was sprinting towards wash to throw out everything from my stomach.

I was feeling so weak and my husband was again there for me.He hoisted me up and made me sit on slab and held my shoulders for support.

After my stomach was empty and I had nothing inside me left I relaxed.He washed my face without utmost care and then wiped it with towel.

And then much to my relief he picked me up in his arms and walked outside.

Once I was settled comfortably on bed I looked at smiling faces of my family members.

Rey:"How are you feeling now?"

He asked me wiping the sweat from my forehead.

Taani:"Hell"

I replied making faces.

Taani:"This smell.It is making me feel sick"

I said pointing towards the tray kept on bed.Sharon took hold of the tray and left from there to keep it in kitchen.Mom too followed her.

My husband offered me a glass of water but I refused to drink anything.

Mom and Sharon came back in room after few minutes.Mom gave me a leaf and asked me to sniff it.I obliged and felt so good.

Back to Heaven!

Sudha:"Beta keep these lemon leaves with you.It helped me and Sharon a lot in our pregnancies"

I smiled thankfully at my Mom and kept my head in her lap suddenly missing my Maa a lot.

She started caressing my hair lovingly and I continued sniffing the lemon leaf.

Sharon:"What do you feel like eating?"

Sharon asked siting beside me on bed.

Taani:"Ummm...Kheer"

I said still keeping my head on Mom's lap.She kept caressing my head.

Sudha:"Okay I'll make it for you"

She said and kissed my forehead lovingly.

Mom helped me to keep my head on bed and then left to make Kheer for me.

My husband handed me a glass of juice and I hurriedly took it from him as I was hell hungry.

Then my eyes fell on clock.

Taani:"OMG Rey.We missed our appointment"

I screamed loudly and he chuckled.

Rey:"I rescheduled it for tomorrow ,Relax"

He replied working on his laptop.

From one hour I was looking here and there but I was getting bored .I started watching television but got bored soon.

I ate my Kheer and aloo-poori which Mom brought for me but still I was getting bored.

I slept for few hours but still my time was not passing.

Deciding to have a walk outside I tried to get up.

Rey:"What are you trying to do?"

He asked in his stern voice. I sat down again and looked at him.

Taani:"I want to go out."

I said angry suddenly.I was feeling so suffocated here inside. From morning I am either sleeping or eating.

Rey:"Its raining outside. You'll slip over water or something"

He said not even looking towards me .That hit My,Taani Singhania's big ego.

Taani:"We are not in office so you don't boss me. I am going out"

I said angrily and got up to leave but the next second sat down on bed as I felt pain in my stomach.

Taani:"Ouch"

I cried in pain and Rey came beside me and held my shoulders.

Rey:"What happened?Is it paining?"

He asked and I nodded biting my lips to control my cries.

Rey:" Where?"

He asked and I just wanted to grab something and hit him with it.

Taani:"Your head, Idiot"

I replied angrily.

Rey:"Ummm...Okay.Just give me a minute"

He said and started taking his phone out but I held his hand.

Taani:"What are you doing?"

I asked angrily.My pain was reducing by every second.

Rey:"Calling doctor"

He said making face like you-are-so-dumb-taani.I left his hand which I was holding till now in pain.My nail marks were visible on his hand.

Taani:"I am better now.No need to call doctor.It happens sometimes"

I said relaxing my body.

Rey:"But lets not..."

He tried to speak but I knew how to shut his mouth.

Taani:"Pregnant aap ho ya main?"

I asked shutting him down for few hours atleast.

Taani:"I am saying na I am better.Now,get out of my way I have to go outside"

I said trying to get up but he held my shoulders.

Rey:"You are not going anywhere"

I gave him an angry look but he kept holding me.

Taani:"Watch me"

I said irritating him and got up to leave.He looked at me with irritated expression.As I was near door he scooped me in his arms coming from behind.

Rey:"I said you are not going out"

He helped me sleep on bed and then covered me with quilt.I tried to get up but he again held me down on bed.

Rey:"Its not easy to fight over me, Wifey.So,you better sleep now or else I'll pick you everytime you'll get down from this bed"

He said and sat down on bed beside me and started working on his laptop.I turned my back to him.

Taani:"Stupid,akdu,bigda rahees,rakshas.."

I started calling him by names but he interrupted me.

Rey:"I can hear you"

He said and I just wanted to hit his head somewhere.

Taani:"Good for you"

I replied angrily as I tried to sleep.

Extension part

I kept tossing and turning on bed with my eyes closed but I couldn't sleep.

Obviously,I was sleeping whole day.

I looked sideways at my husband who was busy with his laptop.

Taani:"I can't sleep"

I said as I got up and sat on bed with my legs folded.

Rey:"Try.Once more"

He said not looking towards me but his laptop.

Taani:"I am going out.I can't stay here anymore.I am bored watching only this room and your face"

I said and started moving towards door holding my big belly. He came after me but I pointed my finger at him.

Taani:"Don't you dare touch me"

I warned him angrily.and made my way out from room.

As I came out I saw Sharon playing with Yash.

I made my way towards them.

As Yash saw me coming he started jumping in Sharon's arms.I smiled at him and he two passed me a vibrant smile.

I took him from Sharon's arms and he instantly started playing with my mangalsutra.

Sharon:"How are you feeling now?"

She asked touching my cheek.

Taani:"Much better after meeting my Yashu.Umm...Sharon I am going out in lawn.Can I take Yashu with me too?"

I asked and saw Sharon getting angry.

Sharon:"Taani you don't need to ask me .He is like your son too.You are free to take this Shaitaan anywhere."

I smiled at her and Yashu laughed as if he understood that his mom is using Shaitaan word for him.

I bid bye to Sharon and started going out.

The weather outside was so pleasant.It was drizzling and the green grass of lawn was glistening with water drops.I removed my slippers and put my leg forward on green grass.

A chill ran through my body as I felt the grass under my feet.

Taani:"This is so amazing Yashu.You wanna try?"

I asked Yashu and he started jumping in my arms to get down.

I managed to sit down on my knees and helped him stand on his feet.

He jumped as his feet made contact with grass and then started laughing.I repeated and he staretd laughing more.I too laughed with him enjoying our little silly act.

I walked out with my laptop and files in hand.I knew my wife must be outside somewhere sitting and enjoying rain leaving me inside to worry for her.

Why doesn't she understand that I care for her that's why I stop her from her silly acts.

I didn't wanted to shout on her that's why I avoided coming out but now it was limit.

In my way I asked Kaka to send some tea and snacks out for my wife.

As I came out I heard a song playing out.

Hmmm...

Rimjhim gire sawan, sulag sulag jaaye mann

Bhige aaj iss mausam me, lagee kaisee yeh agan

Her favorite Kishore Kumar's song.

I followed the music and there she was sitting under roof with that little devil opposite her chair.
