Confusion
Arnav's face fell, but he didn't give up. He reached out and gently turned Khushi's face towards him. "Khushi, I've been waiting for a long time, but I couldn't help telling you how I feel. You're the only one I want to be with. Please, just think about it," he pleaded.
Khushi's eyes locked onto Arnav's, and she saw the sincerity and longing there. She felt her heart skip a beat as she realized that her feelings for Arnav went beyond friendship. But she was still hesitant, unsure of what the future held.
"Arnav, I...I need some time to think," she said finally, her voice barely above a whisper.
Arnav's face lit up with hope, and he smiled. "I'll wait, Khushi. Take all the time you need. I'll be here, waiting for you."
As Arnav spoke, his eyes burned with intensity, and Khushi felt her heart flutter in response. She nodded slowly, feeling a sense of trepidation mixed with excitement. Arnav leaned in, his lips brushing against Khushi's forehead in a gentle, tender kiss.
The news of Arnav's selection to the national team spread like wildfire, and he became an overnight sensation. The media hailed him as a rising star, and his fans couldn't stop congratulating him.
Khushi was over the moon with pride as she watched Arnav's interviews and press conferences on TV. She had always known that he was talented, but to see him achieve his dream was a truly special moment.
As soon as Arnav returned home, Khushi rushed to congratulate him, beaming with pride. "I always knew you could do it, Arnav!" she exclaimed.
Arnav laughed, "Thanks, Khushi. This is all because of my personal little lucky mascot" he said, his eyes shining with gratitude. He pulls her cheeks and she shys at his gesture.
Arvind and Ratna beamed with pride as they watched their son, Arnav, bask in the glory of his selection to the national team. They had always known he was talented, but to see him achieve his dream was a truly special moment.
As they watched Arnav tease Khushi, pulling her cheeks and laughing, Ratna turned to Arvind with a warm smile. "Look at him, he's so happy. And Khushi is such a sweet girl. She's been a wonderful influence on him."
Arvind nodded in agreement. "Yes, they're very close. We're lucky to have Khushi as a part of Arnav's life."
Ratna was eager to get Khushi as daughter in-law "Why don't we get them married?"
Arvind was shocked with this request "Ratna she is just 19, hold your horses for 2 more years at least"
Ratna pouted, looking slightly disappointed but not entirely deterred. "Two years will pass by quickly, and besides, I've already started thinking about the wedding. It'll be a grand affair, with all our friends and family in attendance."
Arvind chuckled, shaking his head. "Ratna, you're getting ahead of yourself. Let's let Arnav and Khushi enjoy their youth for a while longer. Besides, Arnav needs to focus on his cricket career right now."
Ratna smiled slyly. "Oh, I'm not worried about that. Arnav will make a wonderful husband, and Khushi will be the perfect wife. They'll make each other happy, I just know it."
KASHISH'S HOUSE
Raj, Kashish's father, looked at his daughter with concern. "Kashish, I need to talk to you about Arnav," he said gently.
"What about him, Papa?" Kashish asked, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
"I know you're interested in him, but I think you should be careful. I've seen the way Arnav looks at Khushi...I think he has feelings for her, not you."
Kashish's face fell, and she looked away, trying to hide her disappointment. "That's not true, Papa. Arnav would never fall for Khushi. She's just...she's not his type."
Raj sighed, knowing that his daughter was not going to listen to him. "Kashish, I just don't want to see you get hurt. Please be careful around Arnav. You are no one to decide his type."
Nalini's eyes widened in alarm as she listened to Kashish's words. She could already foresee the potential problems that could arise from this situation.
"Kashish, beta, I don't know if this is a good idea," Nalini said, trying to reason with her daughter. "Arnav is a nice boy, but we don't know if he's interested in marriage right now. And what about Khushi? She's always been close to Arnav...this could create tension between the two of them."
Kashish's face set in a determined expression. "I don't care about Khushi, Ma. I want Arnav, and I'm going to make sure I get him."
Nalini's concern deepened. She knew that Kashish could be stubborn and relentless when she set her mind on something. She just hoped that this situation wouldn't blow up into something bigger.
***************************************************************************************
Meanwhile, Khushi was blissfully unaware of the drama that was unfolding behind her back. She was still reeling from Arnav's confession, trying to make sense of her own feelings for him. Little did she know, her hesitation was about to cost her the love of her life.
Khushi's Parents did talk about Kashish and Arnav's alliance with Arnav's parents.
As Khushi's parents, Raj and Nalini, sat down with Arvind and Ratna to discuss the potential alliance, they mentioned their daughter's name in a general sense, without specifying which one.
"We're thinking of arranging our daughter's marriage soon," Raj said, smiling. "And we thought Arnav would be a great match."
Arvind and Ratna exchanged a pleased glance, assuming that the alliance was being proposed for Khushi, the daughter they had grown fond of.
"Ah, that's wonderful!" Ratna exclaimed. "We'd be delighted to consider the alliance. Arnav is very fond of your daughter, and we think they'd make a lovely couple. Dint I say Arvind"
The conversation continued, with both sets of parents discussing the details of the potential alliance, unaware of the misunderstanding that had just occurred. Ratna and Arvind thought the alliance is for Khushi and Arnav.
Kashish's plans to snag Arnav for herself were about to set off a chain reaction of events that would change everything. While Arnav was away on a training camp. Parents fixed the engagement.
Khushi felt like she had been punched in the gut. Engagement to Kashish? How could this be happening? She had been so caught up in her own doubts and fears that she had never even considered the possibility that Arnav might move on without her.
She couldn't bear the thought of Arnav with Kashish, of him smiling at her, holding her hand, and loving her. It was too much to bear.
Khushi's eyes stung with tears as she realized that she might have lost her chance with Arnav forever. She had been so blind, so foolish. Why had she waited so long to confess her feelings?
Just then, Khushi's phone buzzed with an incoming message from Arnav. Her heart skipped a beat as she hesitated, wondering if she should respond. What would she say to him? That she loved him? That she couldn't bear the thought of him with Kashish?
Khushi's fingers trembled as she typed out a response, her heart heavy with emotion
"Hey, what's up?" Khushi typed, trying to sound casual despite the turmoil brewing inside her.
Arnav's response came quickly. "Not much, just busy with training. Miss you, though."
Khushi's heart skipped a beat at his words. Miss you, though. Did he really mean that? Or was it just a casual comment?
She hesitated, unsure of how to respond. Part of her wanted to pour her heart out to him, to tell him how she really felt. But another part of her was scared, scared of rejection, scared of ruining their friendship.
Just as she was deliberating, another message from Arnav popped up. "Hey, can we meet up as soon as I am back? I need to talk to you about something."
Khushi's heart sank. What did he want to talk to her about? Was it about Kashish? Was he going to tell her that he was going to get engaged to her sister?
She felt a wave of panic wash over her, but she pushed it aside and typed out a response. "Yeah, sure. When and where?"
Arnav suggested they meet at a quiet café on the outskirts of town, away from prying eyes and wagging tongues. Khushi agreed, her mind racing with possibilities.
As she got ready to meet Arnav, Khushi's nerves were on edge. What was he going to tell her? Was it something good or bad?
She arrived at the café, her heart pounding in her chest. Arnav was already there, sipping on a cup of coffee. He smiled as he saw her, but Khushi couldn't help but notice the serious look in his eyes.
"Hey," Arnav said, standing up to greet her. "Thanks for coming."
Khushi smiled back, trying to appear calm. "Of course. What's up?"
Arnav hesitated, taking a deep breath before speaking. "I need to talk to you about something important. Something that affects both of us."
Khushi's heart skipped a beat. What could it be? Was it about Kashish? Was he going to tell her that he was going to be engaged?
