Winning Moment
Rohan, sensing Arnav's presence, turned to him and grinned. "Time to finish this, Arnav! Let's take it home!" he exclaimed, his eyes shining with determination.
Arnav smiled back, his heart racing with excitement. He took a deep breath, focused on the task at hand, and got into position, ready to face the Australian bowlers. The crowd was on the edge of their seats, cheering and chanting as the Indian team geared up for a nail-biting finish.
It wasn't an easy task both Arnav and Rohan played brilliantly making 96 runs in 7.5 overs. Last ball was on Arnav who was at 46 was on strike.
Arnav's eyes met Khushi's, and he felt a wave of gratitude wash over him. Her words of encouragement meant the world to him.
The crowd held its collective breath as Arnav faced the final ball, his heart pounding in his chest. He took a deep breath, visualizing the ball flying over the boundary for a six.
Rohan, sensing the tension, gave Arnav a reassuring nod. "You've got this, Arnav!" he exclaimed.
The Australian bowler, determined to prevent an Indian victory, ran up to deliver the final ball. Arnav watched intently; his eyes locked onto the ball as it hurtled towards him.
With a swift swing of his bat, Arnav connected with the ball, sending it soaring over the mid-wicket boundary for a six. The crowd erupted in a frenzy of cheers and applause as Arnav and Rohan celebrated with a triumphant hug.
India had won the match by 4 wickets, with Arnav scoring a crucial 52 off just 24 balls. As he walked off the field, basking in the adoration of the crowd, Arnav's eyes scanned the stands, searching for one person in particular - Khushi.
He spotted her in the VIP box, beaming with pride, and his heart swelled with emotion. He blew her a kiss, and Khushi's face lit up with a radiant smile and she blushed.
As Arnav walked back to the dressing room with Rohan, he couldn't help but feel elated after their thrilling win.Rohan teased him good-naturedly, "Your little lucky mascot did work, didn't she?"
Arnav's face broke into a wide smile. "Hey, don't underestimate the power of Khushi's luck! She's been with me since childhood, and she's always brings me good fortune."
Rohan chuckled and clapped Arnav on the back. "Well, whatever it is, it's working! You played an amazing innings out there. Let's go celebrate!"
Just then, Kashish appeared, her expression far from celebratory. "50? This is what you got... and you're being hyped so much???"
Arnav's smile faltered for a moment, but he quickly regained his composure. "Kashish, we won the match," he said calmly, his eyes meeting hers. "That's what matters. My score could have been higher, but I played the role that the team needed me to play. And I'm happy with that."
Kashish's scowl deepened, "Whatever, I just feel you are just being given more attention than you deserve" she taunts, but Arnav didn't let her criticism get to him. He knew he had played a crucial role in their win, and that's all that mattered.
Arnav's tone was gentle but firm, "Lets not create a scene here. Excuse me" Kashish's expression softened slightly, though she still looked unimpressed. She made a face and walked away, clearly not satisfied with Arnav's response.
Rohan shook his head, "Does she even know how it is to go out there and play?"
Arnav shrugged, "She's like that..."
Just then, Khushi walked up, her face flushed with excitement and a hint of anger. The guard was about to stop her, but Rohan signaled for him to let her through.
Khushi marched up to Arnav and playfully hit him on the arm. "Why did you hit so high? What if it was a catch?" She turned to Rohan, "Rohan Ji, you should have told him to keep it down!"
Rohan held up his hands in mock defense, "Sorry, ji..."
Arnav laughed and rubbed his arm, pretending to be hurt. "Hey, easy Khushi! I'm glad I could make it exciting for you."
Khushi's angry face slowly turned into a smile, and she playfully hit Arnav again. "You're so lucky I was cheering for you! What would have happened if I wasn't here?"
Rohan chuckled and shook his head, "I think we can safely say that Arnav owes his win to Khushi's lucky charm... and her expert coaching advice!"
They both take leave from Khushi. The team celebrates inside the dressing room and everyone appreciates Arnav for his knock. All team members go out on field for the presentation ceremony. Khushi is all excited.
As the team celebrated inside the dressing room, Arnav was mobbed by his teammates, who congratulated him on his match-winning knock. The atmosphere was electric, with cheers and laughter filling the air.
After the celebrations, the team made their way out to the field for the presentation ceremony. Khushi, who had been waiting anxiously, was practically bouncing with excitement.
She waved enthusiastically as Arnav and the team walked out onto the field, beaming with pride. The crowd erupted in cheers as the Indian team was presented with the winner's trophy.
Khushi's eyes shone with tears of joy as she watched Arnav and his teammates celebrate their hard-won victory. She felt an overwhelming sense of pride and happiness, knowing that Arnav had played such a crucial role in their win.
Arnav bid farewell to his teammates and joined his family, who were waiting with big smiles. His parents congratulated him again, their eyes shining with pride.
Khushi, who had been watching from the side, stepped forward with a small gift in her hand. "I'm so proud of you, Arnav! You deserve this."
Arnav's face lit up as he unwrapped the gift, revealing a beautiful silver locket with a cricket bat engraved on it. "Khushi, it's amazing! Thank you so much."
As they prepared to leave, Arnav turned to Khushi with a mischievous grin. "You know, this trip just got a whole lot more exciting!"
Khushi raised an eyebrow. "Why is that?"
Arnav's grin widened. "Because I get to spend the next few days with my favorite lucky charm... you!" he pinches her nose playfully.
Khushi's cheeks flushed as she playfully rolled her eyes. "You're becoming naughty day by day... and what was that blowing kiss and all towards me?"
Arnav chuckled, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "Just a little something to show my appreciation for my lucky charm."
Khushi's eyes sparkled with a mix of amusement and warning. "Don't forget, Arnav, we're still kids!" she said, her voice playful but firm.
Arnav's grin faltered for a moment, and he looked sheepish. "Right, sorry Khushi. I got a bit carried away," he said, chuckling.
Khushi smiled, seemingly satisfied that Arnav had been reminded of their age. "Just remember, we're here to have fun and enjoy the trip. No need to get too ahead of ourselves," she said, her eyes twinkling with mischief.
As Arnav looked at Khushi, he couldn't help but feel a flutter in his chest. He had started to develop romantic feelings for his childhood friend, but he knew it wasn't the right time to express them.
At 17, Arnav also felt he was still too young to navigate the complexities of romantic relationships. Especially after Khushi said they are still kids.
So, Arnav decided to wait, to let his feelings mature and to allow Khushi to grow up a bit more. For now, he was content to enjoy her company, to cherish their friendship and to let things unfold naturally.
Arnav's eyes sparkled with excitement as he grinned at Khushi. "Okay, okay! I'll behave," he said, holding up his hands in mock surrender.
"Let's go celebrate India's World Cup win in style! Australia, here we come!" he exclaimed, pumping his fist in the air.
Khushi laughed and rolled her eyes good-naturedly. "I'll make sure to keep an eye on you," she teased, smiling.
Together, they joined Arnav's family and set off on their Australian adventure, eager to explore the country and bask in the glory of India's World Cup triumph.
As the Australian trip unfolded, Arnav found himself captivated by Khushi's effortless charm. He couldn't help but steal glances at her, noticing the way her hair cascaded down her back in loose waves, the way her smile illuminated the entire room. A flutter in his chest accompanied these observations, a sensation entirely new to him.
Arnav was aware that his feelings for Khushi were evolving, but he was determined to keep them hidden, at least for the time being. He didn't want to risk jeopardizing their friendship or making Khushi uncomfortable.
So, he continued to treat Khushi with the samewarmth and camaraderie as before, all the while secretly nursing his newfoundfeelings for her. Unbeknownst to him, Khushi had also started to developfeelings for Arnav, but she was equally hesitant to express them as she always thought she was just a kid.
