Cruel Demand of Kashish
Kashish stormed back into her house, slamming the door behind her. Her mother, Nalini, was in the kitchen, preparing dinner. She looked up, concerned, as Kashish stomped into the room.
"Kashish, beta, what's wrong?" Nalini asked, wiping her hands on a towel.
Kashish scowled, crossing her arms. "I hate Khushi! She's always so annoying and attention-seeking."
Nalini's expression turned calm and gentle. "Kashish, we've talked about this many times before. You know that Khushi doesn't mean to annoy you. She's just a happy and energetic child."
Kashish snorted. "Happy and energetic? She's just a pest! And my best friend Arnav always takes her side."
Nalini walked over to Kashish and put a hand on her shoulder. "Kashish, Arnav cares about both you and Khushi. He's just trying to be a good friend to both of you."
Kashish shrugged off Nalini's hand, feeling frustrated and angry. Kashish crossed her arms, her face set in a scowl. "I don't care! I hate it when she's always around, getting all the attention. I wish she would just go away."
Nalini's expression turned firm but gentle. "Kashish, that's not a nice thing to say. Khushi is your sister, and we love her just as much as we love you. You need to learn to share the attention and love."
Kashish looked away, her eyes welling up with tears. "You always take her side, Ma. You never listen to me." She walk to her room and locks it.
Nana and Nani listen to all this and were upset. Nalini shares her pain with her mother.
Nalini's eyes welled up with tears as she turned to her mother, Nani. "Maa, I don't know what to do. Kashish's behavior is getting worse, and I'm worried about the impact it's having on Khushi."
Nani's expression turned sympathetic, and she put a comforting arm around Nalini. "Beta, every child goes through phases. We just need to be patient and find ways to address Kashish's feelings."
Nana, who had been quietly observing the conversation, spoke up. "Nalini, beta, you're doing your best as a mother. Don't blame yourself for Kashish's behavior. We'll support you in any way we can."
Nalini smiled weakly, feeling grateful for her parents' love and support. "Thanks, Maa, Papa. Just talking to you makes me feel better."
Nani nodded. "We're always here for you, beta. Now, let's think of ways to help Kashish and Khushi work through their issues."
The dinner table was filled with the warm aroma of homemade food and the soft hum of conversation. Nalini, Raj, Nana, Nani, Kashish, and Khushi all sat together, passing dishes and serving themselves.
As they ate, Kashish suddenly spoke up, her voice firm and determined. "Ma, Papa, I want to talk to you about something."
Nalini and Raj exchanged a curious glance. "What is it, Kashish?" Nalini asked.
Kashish took a deep breath before making her demand. "I want Khushi to be sent to a boarding school."
The table fell silent, with all eyes turning to Kashish in shock. Khushi's eyes widened in horror, and she looked at her parents with a pleading expression.
Nalini's voice was calm but firm. "Kashish, why would you say something like that?"
Kashish crossed her arms, her face set in a scowl. "Because I'm tired of her always being around. I need some space."
Raj's expression turned stern. "Kashish, that's not a reasonable demand. Khushi is your sister, and she is younger than you. I wont do anything of this sort"
Nana spoke up, his voice wise and gentle. "Kashish, beta, sending Khushi away won't solve anything. We need to work on building a stronger bond between you two."
Kashish looked down, her eyes welling up with tears. "I just can't take it anymore," she whispered.
The table remained silent, with an air of tension hanging over them. Khushi looked at Kashish, her eyes filled with sadness and concern.
Khushi looked up at her parents, her small voice trembling. "Papa, Ma, I'll go to boarding school."
The room fell silent, with all eyes turning to Khushi in shock. Nalini's expression turned horrified, and Raj's face fell.
Nalini spoke up, her voice laced with concern. "Khushi, beta, you're only 8 years old. Boarding school is not a place for someone as young as you."
Khushi reasons "I want didi to be happy." Turns to Kashish "Didi will you love me if I go to boarding school?"
Kashish's expression turned cold, and she looked at Khushi with a calculating gaze. "Yes, Khushi. If you go to boarding school, I'll love you."
Khushi's face lit up with a hopeful smile, unaware of Kashish's true intentions. "Really, Didi?"
Kashish nodded, a sly smile spreading across her face. "Yes, really. I'll be so happy if you're gone."
Khushi tells Raj "Papa, please make admission for me in boarding school"
Raj's expression turned shocked, and he looked at Khushi with a mixture of sadness and concern. "Khushi, beta, what are you saying? Why do you want to go to boarding school?"
Khushi's voice was barely above a whisper. "Because Didi said she'll love me if I go, Papa. And I want Didi to love me."
Nalini's eyes welled up with tears, and she looked at Kashish with a mixture of anger and disappointment. "Kashish, how could you do this? You're hurting your own sister."
Kashish just shrugged, looking away, a smug expression on her face.
Raj's face was set in a firm expression. "Khushi, I'm not going to make any admissions for you in a boarding school. You're too young, and you belong here with us."
But Khushi's face was set in a determined expression. "Please, Papa. I want to go. I'll be good, I promise."
The room fell silent, with an air of tension and sadness hanging over them. Nana and Nani looked on, worried about the situation.
Nana speaks "Ok, why don't you come with us Khushi? Anyways we are just 2 kms away. You can go to same school" he thought for some days if Khushi comes to their house Kashish might change.
Khushi's face lit up with a mixture of surprise and excitement. "Really, Nana? I can come with you?"
Nalini and Raj exchanged a hesitant glance. Nalini spoke up, "Papa, are you sure? We don't want to impose on you and Nani."
Nana smiled warmly. "No imposition, beta. We'd love to have Khushi with us. And who knows, maybe being apart from Kashish for a little while will help them both appreciate each other more."
Raj nodded thoughtfully. "That's a good point, Papa. Maybe some space will do them good."
NEXT DAY
The next day, Kashish woke up feeling lighter. She stretched her arms and let out a contented sigh, knowing that Khushi would be leaving soon.
As she went downstairs, she saw Arnav, Aravind, and Ratna sitting in the living room with her parents. Arnav caught her eye and smiled, but Kashish just looked away, still feeling a bit guilty about the way she had treated Khushi.
Aravind cleared his throat, beginning the conversation. "Raj, Nalini, we heard about Khushi going to live with Nana and Nani. We just wanted to check in and see how everyone's doing."
Ratna nodded in agreement. "Yes, we're a bit concerned about the dynamics between Kashish and Khushi."
Nalini sighed, rubbing her temples. "To be honest, it's been a struggle. Kashish has been feeling overwhelmed and frustrated with Khushi's presence, and it's caused a lot of tension between them."
Raj added, "We're hoping that some time apart will help them both appreciate each other more."
***********************************************************************************************
Arnav came to Khushi who was packing her bag with the help of Nani.He walked into the room, a concerned expression on his face. "Hey, Khushi! I heard you're leaving to stay with Nana and Nani."
Khushi looked up, her eyes shining with tears. "Yeah, Arnav. I'm going to have so much fun!" she tried being happy.
Arnav's expression turned skeptical, and he sat down beside Khushi. "Really? You're going to have fun? Because you don't look very happy to me."
Khushi tried to maintain her brave facade, but Arnav's words struck a chord. She looked down, her voice barely above a whisper. "I...I don't want to leave Ma and Papa. But Didi said she would love me if I go."
Arnav's expression turned thoughtful. "That's not nice, Khushi. You should stay here and Kashish should love you no matter what."
Khushi looked up at Arnav, a small smile on her face. "You're a good friend, Arnav."
Arnav grinned back. "I'll always be your friend, Khushi. Even if you're not here."
Just then, Nani called out, "Khushi, beta, it's time to go! Nana is waiting in the car."
Khushi nodded, wiping her tears with her sleeve. Arnav gave her a assuring smile, walked along with her and said. "Bye, Khushi! Take care!"
