Eleven: Everything I Do, I Do For You

The next morning when Randhir woke up, he felt beside him for Sanyukta, but he couldn't feel anything. His concern growing, he searched the whole house for her, finally spotting her in the kitchen, her head in her hands.

"Hungover?" he asked lightly.

Sanyukta nodded. Randhir filled a glass with water and put it in front of her before taking the seat next to her. She drank it all at once and then proceeded to hold her head again.

"Um... you might be wondering what you were doing in my bed this morning. Don't - don't think too much. We didn't do anything," Randhir explained to her nervously, wondering if she remembered last night at all.

"I know."

Randhir's heart leaped. That meant Sanyukta remembered? She must have remembered her confession too then.

"Do you... do you remember your story?" Randhir asked her.

She nodded. "Look Randhir," she said quickly, "I was drunk, I wasn't in my senses. Yes, I admit, I had feelings for you in FITE. But not anymore. I matured Randhir, and so have you. We're different people now."

This was the most she had spoken in days if he didn't count last night's story. Randhir felt his heart break at her words, but he nodded meekly. He loved Sanyukta and that was enough for him. Loving Sanyukta wasn't about gaining her, it was about giving her love. And he would continue to do that, even if it meant Sanyukta didn't love him back.

"Alright... do you remember what you said to Parth?" he asked her, wanting her to open up about her past.

"Yes, I just want to forget he exists. Please don't bring him up again. I embarrassed myself so much."

Randhir frowned. "Forget he exists? Why? Your past with him happened Sanyukta whether you like it or not."

"Why do you care Randhir?" she argued, picking up her bag and glaring at him, "It isn't like you were showing this concern over the last few days. I don't know what's with you. I can't deal with this right now Randhir. I'm going out. Make yourself food today, I'm done with this."

Randhir smiled as she left. This was the Sanyukta he knew. The one who fought with him, the one who stood up to him, the strong-headed girl he knew was coming back.

"Wait, Sanyukta," he called out after her, causing her to stop in her tracks. "You said you still love me last night."

"I don't remember."

"You said it while you were asleep," he informed.

"Yeah right. That's impossible. I don't love you. Randhir, I still love Parth and it'll take time for me to get over him," she snapped, before heading out of the door, leaving Randhir grinning more widely than he did in a while.

She had acknowledged that she was getting over Parth - this was a huge improvement because she didn't have hopes of getting back with him. She was also arguing with him. And more than that, her subconscious mind loved him, whether she was ready to admit it or not.

Randhir suddenly felt like a winner today.
