Chapter 31

Kushi closed her eyes taking a deep breath, what is going on? why isnt she controlling herself? why is she deflecting from the path she has chosen? her life is becoming a mess day by day. One thing is quite sure, living here in arnav ji's house is not as easy she thought!

"What the hell Aman!!!!" the mighty ASR roared punching the table
They have lost an important contract. How could it be? He would not react this much if they would have lost to any other companies. But they lost the contract to one of his rival , the agnihothries. Sholk agnihothri is one of the person who paid sheetal to leak AR's valuable information.
ASR barked on aman and all his board employees. he dismissed the meeting and headed towards his room. He shut the door before his di or tinky can irritate him. He removed his shirt and now he was only in his white vest. he settled himself in the recliner and started working on his laptop. There was loads of pending work he couldn't complete due to shyam's fiasco. And in this chaos he lost the deal to the agnihotris.
He took a deep breath releasing out his frustration. He cant get upset, He is the might ASR. He is going to bag all the deals defeating the agnihotris.

AFTER A FEW HOURS
"Kushi ji, I think chote is still on his room ignoring his luch. Will you please take this juice to him?" Anjali asked kushi so sweetly that she couldn't say no.
She gulped her dry throat, and shivering steps towards his room. She felt like she is going to visit the monster who is in his room waiting for his prey. She made her final prayer in her heart to save her and knocked the door.
She heard his husky voice yet so stiff and commanding
"Come in!"
she held her breath and entered the room. Her eyes widened to saucers when she saw his attire. His hair not gelled and he was just in his vest. she instantly turned to the other side closing her eyes. Arnav smirked at his effect on her but he wore his shirt not make her uncomfortable.
"Kushi, you can see now" kushi relaxed but yet terrified deep inside, she turned to him, still her eyelashes low.
"kushi?" she heard his voice
"haan.." she became attentive, breaking her thoughts, arnav with his eyebrows raised with a playful smirk and asked
" Tum...yahaan??"
"Nothing...just like that!" she replied with a fake smile. She actually forgot that she went to his room to give his juice. Arnav walked forward, as kushi moved back, he grabbed the tray and pulled her closer making her eyes wide.
He pointed towards the glass and took I from the tray. Kushi closed her eyes in shame , cursing herself. How can she forget that she came here to give him juice? she hastily smiled and ran out of the room closing the door. He slyly smiled at her cuteness and continued to work

Kushi along with prakash brothers arranged the table for dinner. Her eyes sinfully cheating her, constantly moved towards the stairs waiting for him to come. Anjali ji told her that if arnav ji starts working, he would never come out of his room. But how can he stay without eating? Whatever, why should she worry about him? She brushed away the thoughts and settled for dinner.
Tinky munched her fav food while anjali and mami ji gossiped. Her food was still in her plate. She didn't feel like eating. This new house, new environment gave her an uneasy feeling.. She hsas never been out other than bible retreats. She is kinda missing mother esther, and the orphanage. She silently walked away with her plate and went to her room.
She has been so busy that she had no proper time to pray. She shut the door and washed up. While opening the bible a paper fell from the book. she frowned and took his. It was the sketch of HIS eyes. She put that aside and kneeled down in prayer. Inspite of all the mess in her heart, this is the place where she can only find peace and connect to god

1:00 AM
Kushi didnt realize that it was past 1:00 , she was lost in the prayer that she even forgot the time. she yawned and reached the dining room in sleepy steps. she raised her eyes to see the light in arnav ji's room still on. Did he not sleep yet? He did not come out of room since morning, he didn't even eat his lunch nor breakfast. But how can I go up? Her brain just calmed her that its okay, but her heart didn't get convinced. She took the plate and served some rice and dal in a kachori. She also filled a glass with water and made way to his room
*knock knock*
There was no response, it was utter silence. she knocked the door again but no result. she slowly opened the door and called out
"Arnav ji?"
Papers were scattered on the floor, the juice was on the table untouched. But he is nowhere to be seen. Her heart gripped in fear, she ran towards the pools ide and shocked to find arnav fallen on the ground lifeless.
"Arnav ji!!!" she yelled and ran to him, she patted his cheeks as tears fell on his face.
"Arnav ji, wake up...open your eyes.." she ran to the room and sprinkled water on his face...his eyes slowly half opened, he can see a blur image of kushi. Sweat beads slipped from his temples, he was full wet, that's when kushi realized. He hadn't eaten anything since morning. She ran towards the kitchen wiping her tears, she stumbled and fell on the stairs, yet she balanced her self and ran to the kitchen.
"Where is it??? I have kept here only..!!" kushi searched the cup boards as her fingers shivered in fear. There it is !! the last two pieces of jalebi. she limped back to his room.
She carefully placed his head on her lap and fed the sweet to him. She anxiously waited to see him back to conscious.
"Arnav ji...please wake up..please.." Her tears shed like droplets of rain. Arnav frowned slightly regaining his consciousness, He opened his eyes slowly as her tears drenched his face completely. His throat was dry and his body ached like hell. he couldn't utter anything other than her name...
"Ku..kushi.." he whimpered
She helped him to sit straight but it was epic fail. No matter how much she tried he kept falling on her shoulder. she could only hear him whispering her name.
After a few minutes, he opened his eyes, he can see clearly now. Realising their position he instantly withdrew from her arms. Kushi hesitantly placed her palm on his cheek and asked
"How are you feeling now?" Arnav immediately stood up but as his body was too weak, he stumbled but saved by kushi. she held his shoulder and took him to bed.
"Kushi, I'm fine, you can go to your room"
" I can see how fine you are arnav ji, you can work as much as you want, If you spare 20 mins for your lunch and dinner, nothing you will loose. How can you be so irresponsible? What if I didn't come to check you out? How can you be so careless arnav ji? Agar aap ko kuch hojatha tho?"
Arnav smiled and asked her
"tho kya hojatha?"
This question made her tongue tied, she didn't knew why she yelled at him, but the sight of him lying on the ground gave her a heart attack. for a second she felt like she was dying, she looked everywhere except him, and wiped her tears.
"Mein di ko bulvathi hoon.."
"No kushi...you know she will get worried and cry buckets, Ill tell her tomorrow morning. You go to bed"
"No, Not until you eat..."
"Kushi, I'll eat, you can go.."
But kushi being herself, she took the plate and handed over to him. arnav sighed and ate slowly as she served him curry and water.
After a few minutes he completed his dinner while kushi removed all the plates and placed them on the tray.
"Now you go kushi, It is already late, you should sleep"
" I will go , but after you sleep! Now, don't talk anything.." She commanded him. His heart smiled widely seeing her care for him. Her warmth and her scent was all over the room. She carefully covered him with the blanket and reduced the temperature of A.C. Within seconds he fell asleep. Kushi was about to get up from the bed but his fingers were tangled with hers. He held her in a tight grip not letting her go. She didn't knew why, Her fingers slowly reached his hair and she caressed him. His face was tired and weakness can be seen. she sighed and slowly settled down on the floor watching him. As the silence of darkness took over, she didn't knew when she fell asleep

With the tray containing sugar free coffee , she limped towards her brothers room and opened the door. She was stunned to see the sight before her.Her fingers slowly made their way ti her mouth and eyes gasped. Chote and kushi ji??? For a minute she was startled and numb. But her heart swelled as she saw her chote sleeping on bed while kushi rested her head on the bed and slept in a sitting position as arnav clutched her hand tightly. She adored those two for a few minutes and took baby steps towards them.
Kushi frowned and fluttered her eyes with the sound of the bangles. She drowsily opened her eyes and jerked up. She turned to see arnav peacefully sleeping holding her hand. She looked everywhere feeling uncomfortable as anajli saw them in such an awkward position. She slowly stood up trying to explain everything
"Anjlai ji...voh..." kushi stammered as anjali faked a face which demanded explanation
Arnav heard few murmurs but he was so sleepy and didn't open his eyes. He turned to the other side of the bed forgetting that he held kushi's hand. With force kushi fell on top of him, due to the rush, her bun loosened and her hair fell on his face, and her hands unknowingly clutched his shoulders tightly. Anjlai was thunderstruck AGAIN. Crimson red crept her cheeks seeing her brother and to be "BHABHI" in an awkward position.
Arnav opened his sleepy eyes finding kushi on top of him with eyes shut tightly. He can feel her breath fanning on him. She smiled slightly and closed his eyes again. He is way too much dreaming now a days. But his thoughts were interrupted by his sister
"ergghem.."
He instantly opened his eyes shocked and bewildered. For a second their eyes met and so their breaths. Kushi realized their position and got up from his top fixing her hair. Her breath hitched and heavy feeling in the inside came upon her. Anjlai frowned and gave a full stop to the silence
"May I know what's going on here?"
"Actually di"
"Actually Anjali ji" both of them said together and looked at each other. Kushi took a deep breath and narrated the whole event which took place the other night.Arnav rolled his eyes annoyed as his sister already started pouring out rivers of tears. He stepped out from the bed and allowed anjlai to sit
"Di, I'm fine..! stop crying"
"How can you be irresponsible chote? What if kushi ji wasn't there yesterday? What would have happened if she didn't check on you?"
Arnav became helpless not knowing how to console his di, Anjlai took kushi's hands in hers showing her gratefulness.
"Thanks kushi ji...agar aap nahin hothe toh.." before even she could complete kushi interrupted her
"No di, don't thank me...I've done nothing. Thank god that I came to check on arnav ji on right time" Anjlai smile through her tears and the duo hugged while arnav admired their bonding.
Anjali silently made an exit from his room leaving the two alone. Kushi also followed her, and gave a last look at him
"Aap teek hain naa?"
DIFFERENCE...that what he saw in her eyes, concern is always seen in her face no matter what person she is talking to, but today, he has seen something else. he nodded as she left the room in hurry
He lazily walked to his recliner and laid down as the paintings of the other night flashed before him. He smiled and so his heart, as the cool morning breeze tickled his skin. YES!! SHE DO CARE FOR ME! He noted and dozed happily that there is some kind of development in their relationship
