Part 3

Randhir dropped Sanyukta down abruptly and she fell with an ouch. But she hurriedly got up nursing her bruised elbow, as she glared at Randhir.

What's going here?' Vardhan asked.

Sir..she...' Randhir began, but Vardhan walked towards them silencing him.

What do you think of yourself, you are in college and not on your honeymoon, understand Randhir Singh Shekhawat?'

Randhir choked on his own spit. While Sanyukta's eyes almost popped out.

Listen to me carefully both of you, I don't want to see all of this non-sense happening when you should be focussing on your respective tasks' he said and walked off.

Sanyukta was about to say something when, an injured Parth staggered down the hallway.

Parth!' Sanyukta rushed towards the weak figure as he collapsed into her arms.

O god! What happened?' she asked concerned.

Just witnessing the scene made him feel sick, his insides lurched uncomfortably and with one last look he walked off.

Parth refused to tell her anything, after dressing his wounds he told her to go back to class, and tell Vardhan Sir that he wouldn't be able to make it that day. She had left although she wanted to stay back and look after him.

When she reached class, Kaustuki, Jiggy, Sahil and Vidushi were already there. She took her place next to Kaustuki, as her eyes absent mindedly drifted to Randhir's empty seat.

Where was he?

PKC entered class and announced that Vardhan was busy as he had some important meeting with the Principal, so it was a free lecture.

Sanyu lets go to the canteen' Kaustuki piped excitedly. But Sanyukta wasn't paying attention.

Her eyes and thoughts were on the empty desk diagonal to her.

Parth was hurt so he couldn't attend class, why the hell didn't the MCP come to class' she wondered.

She didn't even hear all the proposals that were being made around her due to the free lecture. She was shaken out of her thoughts when Kaustuki shook her shoulders.

Sanyu! What happened? Aren't you listening?'

Huh! Ya...ya.. Well actually no, I'll just come' Sanyukta said and rushed outside the class.

The moment she stepped outside class, she bumped into Parth.

She steadied herself in time and looked at him surprisingly.

what are you doing here and how's the cut ?' she asked him. He smiled politely and nodded to signify that he was fine. Actually, I came to talk to Randhir, I had to ask him something.' Parth said wincing as his cut throbbed.

Randhir? He isn't in class' Sanyukta said.

No? Well he isn't anywhere in college either, I looked for him everywhere' Parth said.

Where could he be?' Sanyukta wondered.

Parth you don't look too well, you should go and rest, I'll look for him and tell him, that you were looking for him ok?'

Parth nodded and limped away.

Sanyukta took a deep breath, what was happening to her? Her stomach was fluttering in an uncomfortable way. Her insides were feeling weird. Maybe she was going to get the stomach flu? What else could it be?

Her head constantly flitted over the question of where Randhir was?

She looked for him in the entire college and by the time she was back to her room, she was sure that it wasn't stomach flu that was bothering her, it was something else.

Her phone rang and she picked it up instantly without looking at the caller's name and spoke,

Randhir! Where are you?'

Its me Parth, what happened, why do you sound tensed?' Parth's concerned voice spoke on the other side.

Something fell inside her, and she could feel the evident fact. How she wished it was Randhir instead on the other side.

No..No, I was just wondering if he was back yet, because you had to ask him something, and I thought it was urgent.' Her voice sounded very empty to her own ears.

A commotion at the door caught her attention and she told Parth she'd talk to him later.

The skimpy adult film heroine stood arm in arm with Vidushi at the door, facing an annoyed Kaustuki.

Vidushi! You know we don't have anymore place!' Kaustuki said.

Ya! So? Make place, if the boys can have 4 people in a room, so can we!' Vidushi argued back adamantly.

Sanyu! Tell her no!' kaustuki begged her friend to intervene, which she did.

Listen Miss Whatever your name, you can't stay here' her eyes blazed furiously as her mind flashed back to the scene of her in Randhir's arms.

Its Natasha, she's my cousin and she's not going anywhere!' Vidushi said huffing angrily.

Ya?' Saying so Sanyukta pushed both of them out of the room, flinging her luggage out too, as she shut the door on their face.'

Vidsushi and Natasha glared at Sanyukta from behind the closed doors.

Sanyukta! Open the doors! You can't do this!

Kaustuki keep those two out and after I go out from the window shut them too!' Sanyukta said.

Sanyu! Whats wrong with you? Are you mad?'

Yes! Yes! I am mad okay!' Sanyukta said running a hand through her hair, before climbing out of the window.

Where you going?' Kaustuki called out.

To look for something' she replied back.

That uneasy feeling withen her was increasing and she knew what exactly would make it alright, this sudden uneasiness was scaring her.

She had to find him. Then everything would be alright.

Why do you always do this? Why do you keep coming back and try to be a part of my life!' Randhir bellowed angrily at Renuka Sanyal.

Beta please listen to me once'! Renuka cried tears rolling down her face.

No! Please! Everytime I get up, you break my bones yet again.' He screamt tears pooling into his eyes.

Beta please I'm your mother don't deprive me of my rights!'

Randhir laughed and every sound pained his hear stabbing it like a million knives.

Where was my mother, when I fell and there was no one to pick me up and steady me? Where was she when I needed her the most?'

Don't do this to me' Renuka cried out

You don't do it to me! Just stay away from me' he said turning his back to her he staggered back into the college, his hair dishevelled his buttons half-open.

His heart broke again, he wept a thousand unseen tears in addition to the ones that were already rolling down his face.

He heard the car roll away, as she sped away from his life again, disrupting it again.

His head throbbed and he longed for someone to hold him and tell him that everything would be fine. But he was too strong to admit that he needed to be a little weak even if it was momentary.

When he raised his eyes, he didn't expect what he saw.

A dishevelled looking Sanyukta was running towards him straight into his arms.

Thank god! Where were you?' She asked half-to-him and half to herself.

He wasn't Randhir Singh Shekhwat now, he was just Randhir, a vulnerable heartbroken boy. AND that heartbroken boy didn't believe himself when he responded by wrapping his arms around her, burying his face into her hair.
