Chapter 9

Captain Jack Sparrow "Zoya, you can go if you want to. I am setting you free."

Zoya "I want to stick around with you for a little while."

Captain Jack Sparrow "I knew that no lady can resist my charm but remember that..."

Zoya "your first love is the sea."

Captain Jack Sparrow "I am glad that we have that settled between us."

Haider "That is great that you are coming along with us Zoya."

Zoya (Asad is staring at me but I can see happiness in his eyes.)

Later that night, Zoya is working in the main cabin when Riya walks in.

Riya "I have been looking all over for you."

Zoya "How is your foot now?"

Riya "It's fine. Arjun took great care of me."

Zoya (Should I ask what happened between them? She was upset when she came back.)

Zoya "Is everything alright?"

Riya "I really don't want to talk about it. Not now at least."

Zoya (It must be something big. But I should try cheering her up at least.)

Riya "By the way I got a dress for you. I thought you would look good in blue."

Riya gives Zoya the dress and Zoya hugs her in gratitude.

Riya "You are like a sister to me. I am glad you decided to stay."

Zoya "Riya..."

Riya "My family disowned me when they found out about Arjun."

Zoya hugs her as Riya cries and tells her tale.

Zoya "I like the feel of watching the moon on the deck."

Zoya is watching the moon alone.

Zoya (I miss home but everyone here makes me feel at home only.)

Zoya (Why don't I wanna leave? Why can't I leave and go?)

Zoya (I just don't feel like letting go of all this... of Asad.)

Asad "Hey."

Zoya turns her head.

Asad "Why didn't you take the Captain's offer?"

Zoya "Everyone here is like family... I just didn't want to leave so soon."

Zoya has tears in her eyes as she says it.

Asad "Are you regretting your decision now?"

Zoya "No... not at all..."

Asad "Then why are there tears in your eyes?"

Zoya "I don't know. I am confused."

Asad "Don't be alone on the ship. It can at times make you feel really lonely."

Zoya (He talks rough but looks at me with the sweetest look.)

Asad "You look so cold. Come inside."

Zoya "Okay!"

On the way back, Asad notices a bag in her hand.

Asad "What's in the bag?"

Zoya "Riya gave me a dress."

Asad "That's very sweet of her."

In the room, Zoya looks at the dress.

Zoya "Woah... It's so beautiful... my..."

Zoya was just breathless looking at the dress.

Asad "What?"

Zoya "I have never owned such a gorgeous dress. It were just clothes donated to the orphanage."

Asad "Oh! I see."

Zoya "Er... I kinda wanna try it on now if I can..."

Asad turned his back on Zoya.

Asad "Do it quick."

Zoya tries on the dress but she is unable to reach the zipper on the back.

Asad "I'll throw you out of the room if you are not finished within fifteen seconds."

Zoya "I am trying to reach the zipper but..."

Asad stood up and moved towards Zoya and zips up her dress.

Zoya (Why are there sudden butterflies in my stomach?)

Asad "You actually look pretty."

Zoya "Really?"

Asad suddenly pushes Zoya on the floor along with himself but making sure that she doesn't get hurt.

Zoya "W...What?"

Asad "Quiet!"

Asad covers Zoya's mouth with his hand.

Asad "Don't you hear a strange sound?"

The next second the ship rolled heavily as there was a voice of boom.

Asad "Enemy's shooting at us."

A few more shoots are heard and Asad shields Zoya from getting hurt.

Asad "This doesn't look good."

Asad "Zoya, stay here."

Asad rushes to the door.

Zoya "I am gonna come with you!"

Asad "Do what I said."

Zoya "I'm a part of the crew as well."

Asad "You better not leave my side."

A cold rain storm is raging the deck.

Captain Jack Sparrow "Asad, turn the ship out of the fire."

Matthew "I think the starboard's damaged."

Haider "I am checking for other damage."

Zoya (The captain is shouting at the enemy. He looks worried about the ship.)

Captain Jack Sparrow "Stop blowing holes in my ship!"

Zaroon "Everyone be careful. You'll be dead if you're thrown into the sea at this temperature."

Asad tries moving the wheel but the waves are too rough.

Asad "Zoya, help me here. Turn left with all you got."

Zoya (It's so heavy but I have to do it otherwise the ship will sink.)

They together manage to change the course.

Zoya "Will we be ok now?"

Asad "I don't think so."

Zoya "What can we..."

Asad "Watch out!"

There was a sudden wave and Asad was thrown off board but Zoya managed to grab his hand just in time.

Asad "Let go!"

Zoya "No."

The enemy was still attacking them and suddenly they both fell out of the ship.

Zoya grabbed a broken piece of ship while holding Asad's hand.

Zoya "Asad?"

Zoya (He's bleeding from the temple. He must have hit his head.)

Zoya pushes Asad on the broken wood piece to keep him from drowning.

Zoya "Help!"

Zoya (I hope someone finds us.)

After a while, Zoya finds herself losing consciousness in the cold water.

At that very moment, Captain Jack Sparrow grabs the rope of the sails and dives into the water and picks Asad up first and then Zoya.

Zoya "Captain, I..."

Without wasting time, he takes a metal rod and throws it towards the enemy ship with a very exact precision.

The metal piece is struck by lightning on the way and puts the enemy ship on fire as it strikes them.

Captain Jack Sparrow "Did everyone see that? Because I will not be doing it again."

Arjun and Riya together steer the ship away in the commotion.

*Two Days Later*

Zoya opens her eyes slowly finding herself surrounded by Asad, Zaroon, Matthew and Captain Jack Sparrow.

Zaroon "It's not good... the fever is still high."

Matthew "She was in cold water for more than an hour."

Zoya (I wanna thank the captain, but can't say anything with my swollen throat.)

Asad "Zoya..."

Zoya (Asad's face is hazy.)

Zaroon "Her body is rejecting food. She just spits out the medicine when I try to give it to her."

Matthew "Don't we have any weed of life' left?"

Zaroon "I used it all up for Asad."

Captain Jack Sparrow "Doc, What's going to happen to her?"

Zoya (Everyone is so worried about me.)

Zaroon "If she keeps rejecting medicine then she'll..."

Captain Jack Sparrow "Die?"

Both Asad and Matthew look at the captain in shock.

Zaroon "What we can do right now... is wait till she's able to take the medicine."

Matthew "I better go and help Arjun and Riya repair the ship."

Zaroon "Asad, call me if you need me. I am going to look at Haider's hand. It's not completely healed."

Zaroon and Matthew leave the room. The captain gives one look at Asad and leaves.

Asad "Zoya, why the hell did you try to save me?"

Zoya (When I was in cold water... I thought his life was more valuable than mine.)

Asad picks up the bag of medicine.

Asad "Don't spit it out. Do you wanna die?"

Zoya (I wish I could... but I can't.)

Zoya tries to take the medicine but fails to do so.

Asad puts the medicine in his mouth and gives it to Zoya mouth-to-mouth.

Zoya manages to swallow it in shock.

Asad "Good girl."

Zoya looks at Asad bewildered.

Asad "What? Are you mad cause I stole your first kiss?"
