CHAPTER 46

"The reports are normal." Arnavji said handing me the papers and I nodded.

"Thank you." I said and he shrugged. khuhsi turned back to leave for the room when ARnav stooped her.

"Khuhsi..." she halted in her tracks but didn't turn to look at him.

"i-i saw your mother in the hospital." He told her and on the mention of her mother she turned to look at him.

"What was she doing there?" she asked him.

"I don't know by the time I reached for her she already left." He told her. she couldn't join the dots of the things happening around her. h knows her family is hiding something but she doesn't know what it is. she wanted to know but then all that things of ARnav's life caught her up.

"Is everyone fine there?" he asked.

"h-Huh?" she was snapped out by his voice.

"i-I asked is everyone okay there...you went there to stay with them." he said.

"They are fine." She said not wanting to share anything with him. she knows neither her nor her family matters to him, so she doesn't want to drag him in her matters. She turned again to lave but he called her out again.

"Khuhsi..."

"Hmm..." she answered.

"i-I...I just wanted to..." he took all the courage he had to frame this one second but her one sneeze just ruined it all.

"You don't have to sleep out or else you'll catch flu." He said and khushi looked at him rubbing her nose.

"I am fine...moreover sleeping outside is in my habit." She said with smile but he knows that it was just fake. He remembered his words which he uttered on the wedding night after handing her the paper and he asked her to leave the room.

"but where will I go" khushi asked him,

I am not stopping you...you may go anywhere...I think my room is as big then you entire house...so may take any corner...or you may even sleep on the poolside...you must be liking sleeping out in open air...it must be in your habit"

He cringed remembering his own words. How could he say something like that to her?

Khuhis was sitting near the pool playing with the cold water but that coldness didn't bother her. How her life changed in just 5 months she couldn't even imagine. And whatever happened she couldn't blame anyone else apart from her own self. She exactly remembered how she was mentally praying when her mummy handed her the envelope and was told that he'll be coming tomorrow.

"you are my last hope left...I am sorry but Please reject me tomorrow..." I don't want to marry you ...I want to be independent and help my ma baba...please reject this proposal"

She smiled sarcastically at the memory. How desperately she wanted to escape from this wedding but things took a turn and with those 5-6 days of her engagement to wedding she started falling for him. From Ms. Khushi Kumari Gupta, she became Mrs. Khushi Arnav Singh Raizada. When she was leaving her parents she exactly remembers those words her mother said...

"maa...beta why are you saying so...you and baba gave me everything I wanted...from clothes, education to everything ...you were the best parents ever...then why so are saying so"

Garima-"beta, we never distinguished between you and payal...you both were same for us...today we forced you for this marriage because you were not only our daughter but also our great responsibility which bhaiya bhabhi gave us...and we know you wanted to study but...our life is short and before going away from you all we wanted to fulfill our responsibilities.

A lone drop of tear ran down her eyes. She tried...she tried every bit but in her attempts she never knew why he never liked her. If she would have known he loved someone else she wouldn't have done all this. she would have stayed away from him but he hated her an she ignored those things thinking probably one day...one day he we will love her, respect her as his wife but she was just a burden on his chest.

A frown appeared on her face when her Coco licked her toes. She looked at him lovingly. Amidst of all these things she forgot to fed him. She felt guilty for ignoring him and instantly scooped him up.

"Are you hungry?" she asked rubbing his stomach and she got eager to get closer to her. She picked him up and stood up but as she turned she looked at Arnav who was looking right in her direction. It looked as if was got caught cheating as he instantly looked away. Although they were just few steps away but now there was a huge wall between them. a wall she was trying to build to protect her own self. She walked in the room and Coco wiggled to get down. She let him free but he instantly ran to Arnav's direction. It felt he wanted them to patch up. As Coco came towards him he took a step back but the poor little boy that he was capable was scaring someone.

"Coco...come back." Khushi called him but he was not in the mood to listen. He sat down on his two legs as if he was asking Arnav to pick him up. Khuhis came from behind to pick him up but Coco was smarter. He instantly got up and tangled himself in Arnav's feet and Arnav stood rooted on the ground.

"Khuhsi please take him away." he said to her and she nodded. This time she was quicker then Coco and immediately caught him while he was busy rubbing himself on Arnav's feet.

"I am so sorry." She said to him.

"Don't be Khushi...it's okay...he was in the mood of mischiefs." He said lightly touching Coco head and Coco got eager to lick it.

"He is hunger...he is just getting excited for food." She told him feeling genuinely bad.

"No problem..." he said.

"Khushi I want to talk to you." he said completely changing the subject.

"About?" she asked.

"About whatever happened." he said in a low voice.

"Arnavji...i.." her sentence was interrupted by his phone which was kept on the bed.

Lavanya

The name was read by both of them and he mentally cringed at her timing. He picked up the phone to disconnect but Khushi took a step back.

"You may answer the call." She said and adjusting Coco in her arms she left.

"Khushi...wait..." He called her but she didn't listened or even if he, she ignored and left the room.

"Hello." Arnav answered the call in a pissed tone.

"What happened to you Arnav, why are you behaving like this?" she said sadly. Ever since Khushi saw them together Arnav had been avoiding like plague. Whenever he would see her, he would feel as if was betraying Khushi again. Already the burden of guilt is so heavy, he doesn't wanted to add more by talking with her.

"Lavanya you know everything...yet you are asking this to me?" he asked in exasperation.

"Arnav but you are ignoring me as if it's my fault." She said and he wanted to say yes it was her fault. If she wouldn't have forced him to say this wouldn't have happened but it was his fault too.

"It was our fault...I shouldn't have given her the hopes." He confessed.

"Arnav are you falling for that girl? She is all doing that for your money...what's wrong with you?" she scoffed.

"She is not like that...we were wrong about her." he told her.

"ARnav you are falling for her trap." She declared.

"There isn't any trap...She doesn't care for my money...is she would have cared about it then she would have left me telling everyone about us...She care for me and my family." He told her.

"ARnav you are telling me this...you are kidding me right." She laughed sarcastically.

"I am not...I have lived with that girl and I know her better." He said the truth what he felt.

"Are you telling me you have started loving her and you want to leave me?" she asked.

"When did I say that?" he asked.

"You gave me the ring...you said you won't marry her because you will marry me one day and this is what I am getting for being in love with you?" she questioned him with a sob.

"I have already many problems running in my life Lavanya... don't start this with me now." he said with a sigh.

"You said..."

"I didn't say anything Lavanya...every. You were the one who started presuming things." He said in a loud irritated voice.

"What do you mean?" she asked.

"You exactly know what I mean Lavanya...how all this things started between us...you knew it from the beginning why we were together." he said in a clear frustrated tone.

"I thought we were more than just friends and whatever we share is special...you never admit it but you never denied it too." She reasoned and he sighed. She was now giving him a headache.

"Lavanya...please we'll talk some other time...Bye." He hand up the phone without listening her and threw his phone away. how complicated his life was becoming...it was so smooth before this marriage but now everything is puzzled up. he was doing thing to make his sitter happy but in the process he didn't knew he would face such situations in the process.

Next Day

Khuhsi-"Di re you feeling better?" she asked.

Anjali tried to sit up but Khushi stopped her by her shoulder.

Khuhsi-"please rest Di."

Shaym-"Thank you so much Khushi ji for the breakfast." he smiled at her.

Khushi-"No problem...Di needs rest and more than that she needs you."

Anjali-"Please tell your husband the same Khushiji...he keeps sending my husband away from his wife and daughter." She said making Khushi chuckled but at made hr cough.

Anjali-"Seems like you caught the flu."

Khuhsi-"I am fine Di...don't worry." She assured her.

Shyam-"Khushiji I have a meeting today so if you don't mind can you please take care of her?" she asked.

Khuhsi-"Ofcourse I will...why you are even asking infact." She said but sneezed again.

Anjali-"Take care of yourself Khuhsiji...the weather is changing and you'll fall sick."

Khushi nodded and left the room for the couple to have the breakfast together. she came back to her room knowing Anjali would be probably resting. She bought another tray of breakfast to her room and kept it on the table. Arnav who was getting dressed saw her keeping the table and smiled inwardly. Atleast something is getting back to normal.

Arnav-"Who is Di?" he asked to start the conversation.

Khuhsi-"Better."

Arnav-"Aren't you going to eat?" he asked as he saw only pone plate.

Khushi-"I'll eat later." She said and went outside to water the plants. She saw her watering and he remembered the day they planted some plants together. He asked her to do gardening with him and it was so nice to share a hobby with someone. She was so happy that day...smiling...cracking jokes...but that Khuhsi disappeared somewhere. He saw hr sneezing and snuffing several times and h know she caught the flu which was worsened from yesterday. His appetite died recalling everything, so chugging down his medicines he left as the more he stayed there, the more he felt guilty.
