UNSPOKEN LOVE

CHAPTER 43

"Why did you leave him?" Arnav asked Khushi following her to the room.

"It was time for him to leave." Khushi told him non chantly.

"Khushi look at me when I am talking to you." he said and Khushi turned to face him holding her clothes in hand.

"What?" she asked.

"Why?" he asked with anger this time.

"I told you pus this is your house and I don't want to add extra baggage on you. I am already a burden and I don't want another for you to bear" She said.

"You are not a burden." He said holding her arm in a low voice and she gave him a smile and freed her arm.

"You don't have to say it." and saying those words she hopped towards the washroom.

The tension in the room was thick they were getting ready. He wanted to tell her to take a break today and rest but he knew she wouldn't listen inspite she would say something hurtful, so he couldn't speak on the other hand Khushi pretended as if she is alone in the room. she didn't uttered a word, didn't even stand in front of him to use the mirror and block his way, and neither she even disturbed him while he was dressing him. These slight changes which he was praying to get were hurting when he got them. He doesn't know why but he wants her to disturb him, irritate him and black his view but he was busy with her notebook in hand. She packed her stuffs and went downstairs for breakfast where he joined her. he was slightly relieved that she ate something.

"Di I am going." Khushi said.

"Are you sure you can go...look at your feet it's still swelled." She said in concerned voice.

"I have to Di." She said softly.

"Okay but take care of yourself." Anjali said cupping Khushi's face.

"Okay di."

Khushi stood up and took her bag when Arnav stood up too.

"I'll drop you." he said.

"I can manage moreover you are aleady late." She said.

"It's okay." He said wearing his jackt.

""You don't have to bother yourself." She said.

"Khushiji...let him take you...you can't go alnoe especially in this condition." Anjali interrupted.

"Okay..." khuhsi said in defeat.

"You can just stop on the side." Khushi said showing the empty lane but Arnav didn't hear her.

"Arnavji I said stop the car on the side lane." Khuhsi said in an irritated tone.

"Just shut up Khushi." He said and banged is fist in the car. he needs to talk to her, even if it takes to kidnap her for sometime. The silence filled the car but this time this silence wasn't the comfortable one.

"Khuhi..." He said in a soft tone but she was looking out of the window.

"Khuhsi I never wanted the truth to be out like this." he said in a soft voice.

"But it came." Khushi laughed sarcastically but failed to hide her pain as a lone drop of tear betrayed her. a strong urge to hold her hand weaved in him but he couldn't as she wiped the tear herself.

"I am sorry." He muttered which was almost inaudible if it wouldn't have been so quiet but she didn't acknowledge his apology.

"I won't force you...it's all up to you now...if you want to leave me, I wont stop you." he said those words unwillingly hoping she wouldn't leave him.

"And pay you the money?" she asked looking at him in amusement.

"N-No..." he said realizing suddenly what she meant.

"It will be mutually terminated." He explained getting nervous from inside.

"And have you ever thought what we are going to explain to our families." She asked him.

"I'll tell them something." He said with a shrug.

"Can you tell them the truth?" he asked him and he looked at her in defeat. "Can you tell your Di or NAni what happened?" she asked again. never in his life he felt so helpless.

"You know sometimes its not always for the money...it' s even for th people you grow attach to...for you care." She said in feeble voice.

"I can't hurt them...Di, Nani, Ma Papa...everyone... they won be able to take it." tears leaked from her eyes on her helplessness.

"Please Khuhsi...that day I was with Lavanya i agree but..."

"I don't want to hear anything about it Arnavji...I don't have any problem with your relationship with her. You can do anything you want...who am I to stop you?"

"Khuhshi..." he whispered softly.

"I won't come in your way...you can do whatever you want." She said while wiping her tears. "Soon I'll leave you and your house and then you can marry her." she added.

"Khuhsi...listen..."

"In the meantime we will continue the terms of our contract. We will live together and pretend to be a happily married couple but inside the close room we'll live as strangers." she completed.

Friend?

They were friends? Did he really bring them back to the point where they started? He looked at her and a very strong feeling hit him. it was a mixture of pain, hurt, guilt, regret everything. He must be happy that his way is clear but why is he hurting? H asked himself but as usual he couldn't find an answer.

"You can stop now...we reached." She said and he came back to reality that indeed her college was in front of them. she hopped down of the car and without turning back to wave him goodbye like usual she disappeared from his sight.

He reached his office but today his mind was not on the work. It was on his wife whom he had hurt very badly. He had made sure that no one comes to his cabin including Lavanya or Akash. Lavanya was the least he wants to see because if she wouldn't have insisted him, made him feel guilty or playing with her he wouldn't have land n tis situation. The entire afternoon he waited for her one message but it never came. The one message of her, of her affection but he had lost it all. Everytime her teary face would come to his mind and would disturb him. Various thoughts were invading his minds, deep down he know Khushi is a strong girl and she wouldn't do anything stupid but it was hard to convince his mind who would produce some very disturbing images. He wants everything back to normal but doesn't know how.

He finished his work early and reached home just to see his wife but on his way he saw the same puppy sitting beside his house main gate hiding himself from everyone and from the cruel cold winds. He felt bad for that poor pup who has to face all this just because of him and then also for Khuhsi. He had literally forced her to throw him out. He stopped the car far from him not to scare him away and walked to him. the puppy moved backwards but as if the recognition hit him he stopped. He barked softly at him as if asking him why he did that to her? Arnav kneeled down in front of him and extended his hand forwards to hold him. this time noting came into his mind...neither the dirty roadside puppy nor his hygiene. The only thing which came in his mind was Khuhsi and her happiness. He might wouldn't be able to give her all the happiness but he knows seeing him she would be very happy and that smile is enough for him. he copped him up and walked inside the wiggling puppy in his hand.

"Khushi..." he called out for her.

"Khuhsi see who is here?" he said in an excited tone to see her smile.

Anjali come out followed by Khuhsi behind her.

"What is...aww chotte you bought him back?" Anjali cooed and walked towards him but his eyes was fixed only on Khushi who looked puzzled but as her eyes landed on the puppy in his hand a faint small appeared on her lips. She walked towards him in haze and took the wiggling puppy in her arms. It felt he wanted to be in her arms as he stopped straggling once she was in her arms. She caressed hi soft fur and looked at him who was staring her with smile. Her eyes moistened and so were his. she gave him a tight smile.

"You bought him back for Khuhsiji chotte?" Anjali asked and he nodded absent mindedly.

"Aww...love is in the air for someone." She teased him and a tear dropped down Khushi's eyes and it didn't go unnoticed by Arnav as his eyes were fixed on her.

"Khuhsiji...what have you done to him?" Anjali teased him and she gave her a tight smile to.

Seriously what has she done to him? Arnav wanted to know the answer too but unfortunately he didn't got it.

"Chotte you know I and shyamji went for sonography today...come let me show you my baby's picture too...i was showing it to Khuhisji." She gushed in happiness and Arnav smiled at her sister and then he looked at Khushi.

His di was smiling because of the girl who was crying herself. He felt selfish for pushing her into this but he couldn't let her go too.

"Khushiji come." she dragged both of them back to her room and handed Arnav the photo.

"See here chotte...this is our baby." She said pointing to a certain point and he frowned trying hard to see the baby.

"I can't see anything." He admitted.

"It just 4 months chotte the baby is small." She said holding her slightly swelled belly.

"5 more months." She said in excitement and he looked at Khuhsi.

5 more months!!!!

"I'll keep this picture safely so that I can show it to my baby later." Anjali told them.

"We can hardly see anything Di...it's all black." Arnav interjected.

"Shut up Chotte...I can see the bay and Khushiji can too. Right Khuhsiji?" she asked her and Khushi nodded smilingly holding the pup in hand.

"I'll see how you'll see your baby's picture...I am damn sure you'll get it framed and hand it on your bedroom." She teased and Arnav looked at Khuhsi.

"By the way Khuhsiji when is my baby getting a sibling?" she asked her and Khushi looked nervous.

"D-DI..." She stammered nervously.

"What? Don't make my baby wait longer...she wants someone to play with." She told her and Arnav looked at Khushi who was fidgeting with he puppy's little limbs and he felt sorry for her.

"DI I'll go and give him something to eat?" Khuhsi stood up in rush and left the room as soon as possible.

"Always shy." Anjali commented and looked at her brother and pinched his cheeks to bring him out of his thoughts.

"Dii..."

"I am so happy for you...you are so lucky to have her." she said

He is indeed lucky but he had just hurt his on luck making him the unluckiest.
