Vrishti sat engrossed in Priyam's enthusiastic tales. The 10-year-old boy had just returned from tuition, bursting with excitement to share his latest adventures with his beloved Vrishti. He regaled her with stories of his new friends, his progress in school, and his fascination with magic-themed short stories and Arabian Nights. His eyes sparkled as he recounted his favorite scenes from Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts.

Vrishti listened with rapt attention, her face aglow with delight, as if she were a loyal companion to Priyam's imaginative journey. She laughed and asked questions, fueling Priyam's eagerness to share more. As the rain pattered outside, Priyam took Vrishti's hand, leading her out to introduce her to his new friends, who were eagerly waiting in the living room .

Meanwhile, Rajveer found himself engrossed in a heart-to-heart conversation with Romita. She shared fond memories of Christian's passion for music, revealing that he used to play the violin and piano with remarkable skill. However, Alzheimer's had stolen these memories, leaving behind a void that pierced Rajveer's heart. He felt a pang of surprise, realizing that he had never experienced such a warm and genuine welcome from any of his previous relationships. The superficial connections he had maintained earlier now seemed to crumble in comparison to the depth of emotions he felt here.

Just then, the sound of laughter and chatter drifted in from outside, mingling with the rain's soothing melody. The atmosphere was electric, filled with the promise of new connections and unforgettable moments. As Rajveer glanced at Vrishti, now surrounded by Priyam's friends, he felt his heart swell with a sense of belonging he had never known before.

Vrishti's squeal of delight pierced the air as she sprinted out into the muddy ground, joining the neighboring kids who were reveling in the rain's splendor. Her aunt's house, nestled amidst lush greenery, had transformed into a muddy wonderland, beckoning the kids to indulge in its squelchy delight. Vrishti, unshackled from the world's worries, merged with the group, her laughter echoing through the rain-soaked air like a melodic symphony.

Rajveer, observing from the balcony, was captivated by Vrishti's unbridled joy. She had rediscovered her inner child, unencumbered by life's complexities. Her eyes sparkled like diamonds, and her smile illuminated the entire scene, casting a warm glow on the rain-drenched landscape. He couldn't help but smile as he watched her play, his heart swelling with delight.

As he watched, a group of mischievous boys ambushed Vrishti, splashing water on her, and she shrieked with unadulterated glee. Rajveer's initial instinct to intervene was quickly replaced by amusement as he witnessed Vrishti's reaction. She was having the time of her life, her spirit uncontainable.

Unable to resist the infectious fun, Rajveer joined the fray, his shoes sinking into the mud with a squelching sound. The kids cheered as he entered the muddy playground, and Vrishti grinned at him, her eyes sparkling with mischief. Together, they played, laughing and splashing in the mud, their joy merging with the rain's rhythmic beat.

Rajveer felt an unprecedented sense of freedom, as if Vrishti's joy had unlocked a deep-seated part of him. He was no longer the serious, brooding man he usually was, but a carefree kid, reveling in the muddy playground . Vrishti's laughter was infectious, and her smile, oh, her smile, was a work of art. He couldn't take his eyes off her, mesmerized by her beauty, her spirit, and her zest for life.

Vrishti, oblivious to Rajveer's gaze, continued to play, her red and pink dupatta wrapped around her waist, her papaya orange kurta clinging to her skin, dampened by the rainwater. Her silk hair stuck together, framing her face, and her salwar, now wet, accentuated her curves. Rajveer's eyes roamed over her, drinking in the sight of her, his heart filled with love and adoration.

As he stared, Vrishti began to feel a flutter in her chest. She sensed Rajveer's gaze, and it sent shivers down her spine. She turned to him, and their eyes met, the connection palpable. Rajveer's eyes were filled with a deep longing, a romantic intensity that made Vrishti's skin prickle with goosebumps. She felt seen, truly seen, by him.

Vrishti's heart skipped a beat as she took in Rajveer's appearance. His large physique, his biceps and triceps, were visible through his wet shirt, which clung to his skin. His charming, magnetic eyes drew her in, and she felt herself getting lost in their depths.

For a moment, they just stared at each other, the world around them melting away. Vrishti felt her pulse racing, her breath catching in her throat.

Rajveer teased Vrishti as he approached her in a flirting tone, "First time I've seen Vrishti getting wet in Vrishti (rain)!" Vrishti's cheeks flushed with a delicate blush, her eyes sparkling with mirth.

"Oh, shut up, Rajveer!" Vrishti playfully splashed water on him, giggling.

Their sizzling eyes locked, the tension between them palpable. The children around them continued to play, their laughter and shrieks of delight filling the air..

Rajveer chuckled, dodging the water splash. "Hey, Mittu's getting feisty today! I love it!"

Vrishti laughed, playfully splashing water on him again. "Shut up, Rajveer! You're making me laugh!"

Rajveer grinned, taking a step closer. "That's my job, Mittu! Making you smile is my favourite thing to do."

Vrishti's cheeks flushed, but she teased, "Well, you're doing a great job, but don't get too full of yourself!"

Rajveer pretended to be offended. "Hey, I'm just trying to bring some joy into your life, Mittu! You're always so serious."

Vrishti giggled, her eyes sparkling with mirth. "Someone has to keep you in check, Veer!" She teased, trying to sound stern but failing miserably.

Rajveer winked, taking a step closer, his voice low and husky. "That's why we're good friends, Mittu. We balance each other out." He said, his eyes crinkling at the corners.

Vrishti's cheeks flushed again, but she played it cool, trying to maintain her tough exterior. "NO, we aren't friends, I tolerate you." She said, trying to sound convincing but her voice betrayed a hint of softness.

Rajveer chuckled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Same difference, Mittu. You're my partner in crime!" He exclaimed, his voice full of warmth and affection.

Vrishti giggled in response, her defences weakening. "You're impossible, Veer!" She said, shaking her head in exasperation.

Rajveer's face lit up with a warm smile, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "That's why you enjoy hanging out with me, Mittu," he whispered, his breath sending shivers down her spine.

Vrishti's heart skipped a beat as she looked up at Rajveer, his eyes sparkling with friendship. But then, he took a step closer, his gaze intensifying.

"You only came outside today because you're really interested in accompanying me," She said, his voice low and husky.

Rajveer's cheeks flushed, but he held her gaze. "Yes, because I didn't want to leave you alone," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper.

Rajveer's eyes softened, his expression filled with gratitude. "I enjoyed the day, thanks to you, Mittu," he said, his voice filled with sincerity.

Vrishti's heart swelled with affection for her friend. "Anytime, Veer," she replied, smiling up at him.

As they stood there, the air thick with their connection, Vrishti realised that their friendship had deepened into something more. But neither of them was willing to acknowledge it just yet, content to bask in the warmth of their companionship.

Rajveer's face lit up with a warm smile.

“Now, want to make a splash with me?”

Vrishti giggled, splashing water on him again. "You're such a goofball."

Rajveer pretended to be offended. "Hey, I'm a charmer, not a goofball!"

Vrishti teased, "Oh, sure, I know I know . You a stubborn jackfruit"

Rajveer laughed but he said instead "yeah, that's why I'll stick to you like glue!"

For a moment, they just stared at each other, the air thick with camaraderie. Then, Vrishti broke the spell, laughing and playfully pushing him away. "Whatever, Veer!" She exclaimed, trying to sound casual despite the warmth in her chest.

Vrishti rolled her eyes" you are impossible Veer. Go and find someone else to eat their head "

Rajveer's eyes sparkled with mischief. "Maybe I'm just waiting for the right person to come along...or maybe I'm just waiting for you to realise you can't live without me."

Vrishti playfully pushed him away. "In your dreams, Rajveer!"

Rajveer chuckled, pulling her back. "Oh, Mittu, you have no idea what dreams I have."

Their banter continued, with Rajveer showering Vrishti with flirtatious comments and Vrishti responding with playful jabs. The tension between them was palpable, but it was clear they both enjoyed the game. As they laughed and splashed around.

"Wow, look at that rain!" one of the kids exclaimed, twirling around with arms outstretched.

The sky had darkened, and the rain intensified, casting a mystical spell over Romita's house and garden. The once-manicured lawn was now a muddy playground, with puddles reflecting the gray sky like mirrors. The flowers, drenched and drooping, seemed to dance in the rain, their colors muted yet vibrant.

Vrishti and Rajveer stood under the awning, watching the chaos with grins. "This is crazy!" Vrishti laughed, her hair sticking to her face.

"Crazy beautiful," Rajveer countered, his eyes never leaving hers.

Suddenly, a strong gust of wind swept through, sending the children squealing with delight. The rain lashed down, drumming against the roof and pavement.

"Whoa, look at that!" Priyam shouted, pointing to a nearby puddle, which had become a mini-pond.

Vrishti and Rajveer exchanged a look, and without a word, they joined the kids, splashing and playing in the rain. Their laughter mingled with the children's, creating a joyous symphony that filled the rainy afternoon.

As they played, the storm raged on, the thunder rumbling in the distance, the lightning illuminating the dark sky. But in that moment, nothing else mattered except the joy, the love, and the connection they shared.

As they played in the rain, Rajveer couldn't help but be drawn to Vrishti's carefree spirit and infectious laughter. He found himself captivated by her sparkling eyes and bright smile, his heart racing with excitement whenever their gazes met.

But Vrishti, unaware of Rajveer's growing attraction, continued to treat him with friendly affection, her thoughts focused on the joy of the moment, not on romantic entanglements.

As the storm intensified, Romita called out from the balcony, "Priyam, Mittu, Veer, come inside! It's getting too wet!"

The kids reluctantly obeyed, Vrishti and Rajveer following close behind, their clothes drenched, their hair disheveled.

As they entered the warm, cozy living room, Vrishti shook her hair, spraying water everywhere, and Rajveer couldn't help but laugh at her playful antics.

But amidst the laughter and warmth, Rajveer's eyes locked onto Vrishti, his gaze burning with a newfound intensity, his heart whispering secrets he dare not speak aloud.

Vrishti, however, just smiled and handed him a towel, her eyes sparkling with friendship .

Little did Rajveer know, his heart had already taken the leap, and he was now deeply invested in winning Vrishti's heart.

As Vrishti and Rajveer locked eyes, the air between them charged with an undeniable connection, Romita stood in the balcony, observing the scene with a keen eye. She had noticed the way Rajveer looked at Vrishti, with a gaze that went beyond friendship, and she wondered if her dear Vrishti had feelings for him too.

Romita's heart swelled with a mix of emotions - happiness for the possibility of Vrishti finding love, and concern for the potential risks of a romantic relationship. She knew Vrishti's past, her fears, and her doubts. Could Rajveer be the one to heal her heart?

As she watched, Vrishti broke the gaze, handing Rajveer a towel, and Romita smiled, seeing the sparkle in her niece's eyes. Maybe, just maybe, this was the start of something special.

With a warm smile, Romita turned back into the house, leaving the young couple to their moments, her heart filled with hope and her mind whirling with possibilities.
