Part 24A:

Arjun hadn't left the office the whole night...he was trying to track down every possible clue which pointed towards Sakshi's purpose of visit to Haridwar...to his dismay, everything led to a dead end and he could sense that she had shut down every damn direction perfectly...

It appeared like he was being denied access to go behind that clue...but why? Why was she playing so safe? Why did she want to keep him away? His mind was reaching conclusions which wasn't so easy to digest for him...it only added to his apprehensions about her and also tightened his search for her...

His determination to track her down increased each moment and as each clue shut him out...

But giving up was never Arjun's option...he had his own ways and new clues opened up for him!

By next morning, something positive came up...

Shree called up Arjun and updated him of the developments

"Sir, jaise aapne kaha that maine raaste ka saare stations ko alert kardiya tha...and you were right Arjun sir...Sakshi abi abi Haridwar se pehle waale station pe uthri hai...she had boarded a bus to Haridwar...maine Prithvi ko inform kardiya hai and he is behind her...He will keep us informed"

Arjun nodded with an "I knew it" smile and replied, "ok Shree"

He was happy that finally Sakshi was well within his vision...he had got his control back on her game..her game was slowly becoming his now!

Last night, Arjun had got a gut feeling that Sakshi would be predicting Arjun's moves and planning ahead of him...so as always, he planned to take that extra step ahead of the opponent...He instructed Shree to alert all stations through which the train passes after dawn and his intuitions had been bang on...She hadn't waited till the train reached Haridwar!

Arjun grinned sarcastically, "Brilliant move wrong number par afsos ke main tumse ek khadam aage nikal gaya..."

He twirled his pen and let his thought process lead him to her next move...

Giving her just enough time for the next step, he dialled Prithvi's number...

Prithvi picked the call after 2 rings, "Hello Sir...I was just about to call you sir"

Arjun nodded and replied, "haan bolo.."

Prithvi: Hum Haridwar paunch gaye hai...ussne abi abi ek trust ke guest house mein check in kiya hai...Sarowar guest house..."

Arjun's mind was already trying to think about what she was upto...He instructed Prithvi of his next step, "Prithvi, wahaan..."

Prithvi replied him reading his next instruction, "sir, ussne apne naam Deepthi Verma likha hai register pe...and she is in room 102"

Arjun was impressed by his brisk actions and smiled in appreciation, "Good job...par unne shaq toh nahi hua..."

He smiled and replied, "No sir...whats my next task sir? Should I meet her?"

Arjun replied instantly, "Not yet Prithvi...usse jo karna hai bas karne dho...just be behind her...woh jahaan bhi jaaye, tumaari nazar ke saamne rehne chahiye...agar koyi gadbad lagi tab hi aage jaana...and keep me posted...I will get there by tomorrow...yaad rakhna, usse kuch patha nahi chalna chahiye...if she even gets a hint, she will just disappear! Phir usse doondna mushkil hoga!"

Prithvi nodded and cut the call and moved to a near by tea stall...He got himself a tea to sip as he waited for her to come out again...He knew she would take time...the chill weather made him rub his hands against the hot tea glass...pulling together his leather jacket, he gulped the hot liquid as if it was plain water...Such extreme situations were common in his missions...and he felt proud and happy to be involved in a mission with ACP Arjun Rawte of ETF as his chief! He had the urge and will to do his best and prove himself before the man whom he always saw as his role model!

The only question he had in his mind was who this lady was and why was she being followed by ETF...was she a criminal or a terrorist? He didn't know any details about Sakshi...but he didn't ask because asking such questions wasn't part of his duty!

She unlocked the room and entered...Bolting it safely, she breathed a sigh of relief as she had managed to land there safely and finally she was in her private sanctum...It had been a stressful journey indeed...mental and physical stress had totally worn her out...

She threw her bag to the chair and her shawl to the bed before opening the curtains of the windows to have a look at the temple city outside...

River Ganga flowed past in all its glory...or perhaps in its fury...she could only symbolize that sight with his anger...His anger would be so furious enough to wipe out everything...She knew he would lash her out for this but she had no choice...till everything was settled, he had to be in the dark!

Arjun kept his phone on the table and told to himself, "Chaahe koyi bhi game khel lo Miss wrong number lekin iss khel ka final chaal main hi jeetunga"

He switched on his laptop and started researching on the trusts in haridwar wondering..."Aakhir isse wahaan kya kaam ho sakthi hai?"

Sakshi muttered as if justifying her actions, "tumse jeethna nahi chahti Arjun bas yeh khel jeethna chahti hoom...tumaare liye...mere liye...humaare liye...aur main manzil ke bohat khareeb hoom...I hope you understand it"

Arjun's glance was fixed on the computer screen which had the information about the trust in detail..."Praarthana samajh"

It was a no profit organization which housed so many orphaned people...many whose family had abandoned them and many who left their families, especially their sons and daughters and didn't have any place to go...

Some who came to the holy river with suicidal tendencies basically because they had no home to go back to...and their dear ones didn't want them back...This trust took in such people, counselled them and gave them shelter under its wings...some were motivated to get back to their homes while some preferred to remain there...

Arjun wondered what was Sakshi's involvement in it...what was her role there?

Sakshi took a deep breath of the cool breeze and the divine fragrance of the agarbatthis perhaps lighted in the mandir below before going inside the room...

She took a quick shower and changed into something comfortable...she wanted to take a short power nap before venturing out...She knew it would end up being a long day...

Meeting Guruji of the Praarthana Samajh was first on her agenda...she had to get in and meet the people there...Getting in wasn't a problem as she had a reference letter citing that she was a research student and was doing her PHD in human relations...diminishing family and social values being her main subject! Which place other than such a home could give her so many people who could talk hours together about their life and sorrows...their helplessness, loneliness and miseries...who could share their feelings and emotions about despite having all their dear ones, yet all alone and left to rot!...So her coming to the trust was fully explainable...and none would suspect her real intentions!

Moreover, the letter was from such a top VIP that none could shut her out...but then mingling with the people there and finding one among them was going to be tough...

She sighed thinking about the herculean task before crashing into the bed!

Exactly 3 hours later, she stood before the huge gates of the samajh reading the arc board which indicated that she was at the right place...

Prithvi stood a little away, his eyes fixed on her and his fingers already messaging his chief about where she was...
