Part 23:

She had died a thousand deaths already without being able to run back into his arms...But no...she couldn't go back...not until she found him...the only black shadow in their life...Sikandar!

Taking a deep breath, she took out the SIM card from her mobile phone and threw it out of the window muttering, "I am sorry Arjun..."

The train flew past leaving behind everything that could connect him to her...

Did she actually leave behind everything? Not really...Neither her love for Arjun nor Arjun's love for her can be left behind no matter what...

His loving gazes, care, his endearing words, passionate touches...everything was instilled in her...all over her...she could never throw away all that off her...

She closed her eye lids draining away the tears that swam in her eyes...her heart pricked to have done this to him...getting so close to him and then leaving him dangling like that...She knew that he must be bringing the sky down to find her!

But she had no choice...She had been secretly collecting all possible details about Sikandar and few days before she had got a vital clue as to where he could be hiding but nothing was concrete...it all appeared abstract and far fetched...she put all her resources to confirm the credibility of the information...

She could have told Arjun about it and she was even ready to tell it to him but then she saw his anger one day at the mere mention of Sikandar...He was unstoppable and blazing in the fire of revenge...Even Sameer and she herself couldn't calm him down...That fire, that fury, rage scared her...she shivered to the roots even at the thought of telling him anything about Sikandar!

That was indeed the turning point...it just made Sakshi take a 360 degree turn from her decision to tell anything at all to Arjun...

She feared that Arjun could do anything in anger...It wasn't that she didn't believe his ability to track Sik down or help her in it but she didn't want any risk in this matter...

It was after years of constant digging up that she got something like this...she couldn't afford to let that go in vain due to Arjun's emotional and angry outburst...

If something goes wrong, then Sikandar could just vanish into thin air...She had seen it happening before but this time, she was determined not to let that happen!

She had to first make sure that the clue pointed to the right direction and it wasn't any new trap laid by Sikandar or perhaps it could also be a cloud he created to mislead the intelligence team...

The other main reason for her hiding this was also the dangers that could lurk Arjun if he trailed after Sikandar...Afterall Sikandar's ultimate aim was a brutal end to Arjun which had once by mistake cost Roshni's life...

And now Sakshi couldn't allow any more damage to Arjun or his life...she had to keep him away...atleast till the point she sees and gets Sikandar within her arm length...By all means, Sikandar had to die...Roshni had to get justice...Arjun's revenge had to be complete at all costs!

She was confident that she could do that...She leaned to the window railings of the train and closed her eyes...she caught her neck feeling a physical strain in the muscles owing to exhaustion and her fingers accidently glided on the chain Arjun gave her...Roshni's chain which was her treasure now!..."Arjun" her lips muttered mindlessly as she took the locket in her hands...

On the other side, Arjun was no better...he was restless to the core...Sakshi whispering his name and voicing "I love you" kept echoing in his ears...He felt that she was still in his arms...it felt as if she was just there within his embrace and suddenly disappeared somewhere...

He was quite sure that Sakshi was upto something very grave and that was why she had sneaked away like that without telling him anything...He looked around impatiently feeling helpess!

His eyes fell on Roshni's photo frame on his desk...He took it in his hands and glided his fingers on the photo and then on the chain...

He couldn't help but remember the previous night and how he had given her Roshni's chain...

He spoke to the frame, "ussne bhi mera saat chodh diya Roshni...ek baar mudke dekhi bhi nahi...itne paas aake chali gayi..."

Roshni's smiling face was saying something to him...perhaps his own conscience chided him for being so pessimistic, "woh zaroor tumaare paas waapas aayegi...tumaare pyar usse keench laayega Arjun!"

Far off, Sakshi tightened her grip around the locket and swore, "hum jaldi hi milenge Arjun...I promise"

Arjun smiled faintly hearing his own positive hopes about getting back Sakshi consoling him and then replied, "Yes, she cant go away like that after giving me the desire to live again...she has to come back to me...she has to...jahaan bhi hai, main usse doond nikaalunga..usske kaan keechke baahar laavunga...thats a promise!"

He had just placed the photo back in its position when Shree rushed in with some more information...

Arjun looked up to him in anticipation...

Shree spoke up, "sir, Sakshi ka last call Mumbai Central terminus ke aas paas se hai...uss call ke baadh shaayad ussne woh SIM wahi kahi phek diya..."

Arjun's thinking process ticked off and he replied, "Patha lagao ke uss time pe kaun kaun se trains uss station se rawaana hoti hai"

Shree instantly searches for the trains leaving Mumbai around that time from that station...He lists it out and passes it on to Arjun for review...

Chotu come in at that same time..."Sir, ek khaas information patha chali hai...dho din pehle Sakshi ne kisi CK travels ko call kiya tha...wahaan se patha chala ke woh piligrimage tour packages ke baare mein jaan na chahthi thi.."

Arjun was more than perplexed now...Why was Sakshi enquiring about piligrimage packages?

His mind was revolving around that when Chotu let out his own inference or perhaps conclusions, "woh apne papa ke aatma keliye koyi samarpan ya prarthna karne gayi hogi! Usske poore hote hi aa jaayegi"

Shree and Arjun looked at him in total disbelief and Shree mocked him, "agar aisa hai toh woh aise chupke kyun jaathi?...hum sab ko bathaake jaa sakthi thi na?"

Arjun shook his head and looked back into the list which Shree gave him...

His fingers glided down the screen and stopped at one train...

"Haridwar" he voices as he looks at a puzzled Shree and Chotu...

He questions Chotu, "kahaan ke tour ke baare mein pooch rahi thi?"

Chotu instantly replies, "Haridwar, Nasik aisa kuch tha"

Arjun taps on that particular train...and then voices, "Sakshi Haridwar gayi hai..."

Shree tries to reason out, "Sir, sirf iss ek clue se confirm nahi kar sakthe ke woh Haridwar hi gayi hai, right?"

Arjun stood up and then replied, "haan woh kahi aur bhi jaa sakthi hai but ab filaal ek clue mila hai toh wahi follow karna padega Shree"

Saying that, he walked into Sameer's cabin...

Arjun was busy explaining all this to Rathod and Aisha while Shree and Chotu were discussing this new development...

Chotu: lagtha hai ke ab chaar dhaam ka yatra naseeb hoga...

Shree smiled and replied, "accha hai...Sakshi ko doond bhi lenge aur ganga maiya ke darshan bhi karlenge...par mere samajh mein ye nahi aaya ke aakhir Sakshi wahaan kyun gayi!"

Chotu: haan Shree, woh baat toh mere samajh ke bhi baahar hai...koyi paap ka bhoj...

Shree glared to his side making him mince back his words...

Chotu gulps and replies, "matlab aisa bhi ho saktha hai na? [when Shree's glare intensifies, he adds] arre Shree, tum bhi Arjun sir ke tarah gurrne lage..."

Shree was silent for a moment and then he turned to observe Arjun's actions and behaviour inside Rathod sir's cabin through the glass partition...Chotu patted him, "aise kya dekh rahe ho?"

Shree replied in a lost tone, "Sakshi ke chale jaane se Arjun sir bohat restless hai na? Harr baat mein Sakshi keliye unnka pyar jhalak raha hai!"

Chotu nodded in agreement, "Sakshi ko aisa nahi karna chahiye tha...atleast Arjun sir se kehke jaathi..."

Sakshi thought to herself, "Sab naaraaz honge...par kya karoom? karna pada...par mujhe yakeen hai ke jab sab teek hoga, tab sabke naaraazgi chale jaayegi..."

Sakshi had got the information that Sikandar was hiding himself in some religious center for over an year now...It troubled her as to why he would be hibernating like that...then it occurred to her that perhaps he was planning something big or perhaps trying to change his own identity so that he could escape from all the crimes he had already commited...

An undercover team was already after him ever since the bomb blast which killed Roshni but then they always missed him as if he never even existed...Even this information wasn't fool proof and Sakshi wouldn't believe it entirely till she saw him in front of her...It was a confidential information that she had got due to her higher contacts and she couldn't let it out yet to Arjun!

So she took up this task of checking its credibility first...she didn't get herself enrolled into the tour package but she just took information about how it was going to be and made it seem like she was one among in that tour group so that none would suspect her visit in the temple town! She could easily move around with a tour group and get her work done!

She had already made her plans ready but then all of a sudden, Arjun's confession happened and she had to admit that she got carried off by the flow of events...She never wanted to get close and intimate with him like that...She knew that their night together was going to be haunting and tormenting him like hell...His hurt would have been less torturous if that didn't happen but things just went out of her control and she gave in to his desires and yes hers as well!

But then a call from her contacts at dawn jolted her back to reality...she knew that if Arjun wakes up, then she would never be able to disappear like that...

He would literally become her shadow from then on...escaping from him would be difficult...So when she saw him sleeping peacefully after he had unleashed all his bottled up love and desires for her, she thought, this was the time to slip away! A rare chance when he was indeed happy and in deep sleep!

It wasn't easy...or rather it looked next to impossible but then she took a deep breath and wriggled out of his arms and out of the bed...

She made a silent promise to him as she kissed his forehead that she would come back to him...even if death embraced her, she would make sure that she died in his arms...

Hoping that he would forgive her for everything, she sneaked away from home...she decided to get the tickets preponed...she managed to get a 2^nd class ticket to Haridwar and so started her journey in the quest of finding Sikandar!

Sameer and Aisha nodded really hoping and praying that Arjun's intuitions that Sakshi was on her way to Haridwar were right like always!

Yes, it better be right because one slip or wrong move due to that intuition could turn the game upside down!
